Jelonkowo

Add the name of your place

Location Poland, Beskid Mountains, Żywiec Beskid Mountains, Glinka
In the westernmost range of the Carpathians, the largest river in Poland has its source, shepherds celebrate the traditional first herding of the season, and when it snows, a sledge and snowshoes are needed, and the old highlander houses find new owners. Right here, in the midst of silence broken by the torment of sheep, we run an intimate cottage in the Beskid Żywiecki. Jelonkowo is a traditional cottage surrounded by a meadow, forest and beautiful views of wild mountains. Forest animals behind the fence, kilos of mushrooms under the larch trees and a family atmosphere in the cottage. The mountain cabin remembers the lack of electricity, the water from the wells and the silence unspoiled by telephone calls. It was built in 1894 and its owners changed several times, as well as its appearance and decor, always respecting the Beskids tradition. The cottage will provide a comfortable shelter for a total of 11 people. The summer season is as follows: kilometers of trails in the mountains or hammocks/sun loungers in the garden for getting a nice tan. You can go to the mountains, knock at the hut for the best oscypek cheese and eat plums straight from our trees. To relax after a long hike, you can jump into the swimming pool in the former quarry below our mountain. In the winter, explore snowy trails with our snowshoes, build a snowman and create an igloo in the garden, or grab a sledge and slide down the hill right behind the fence. In the evenings, warm up by the fireplace with warming infusions. We don't serve witchcraft or magic. But we do have people. Good people. We want you to feel at home with us.

Here Slowhop will describe your place

Host:
Klaudia i Witek
We are a married couple in love with the mountains and nature. Varsovians who led the life of townspeople, who set off in search of a mountain home on the edge of a natural paradise. We knew that the place had to be special. An old cottage that needs to be reconstructed, in the not yet fully discovered, not trampled by tourists mountains, close to trails, high with a view of the surrounding mountains, with access to the forest, surrounded by meadows, so that we can implement our ideas for the development of the cottage in the future. The search did not last long. A coincidence took us to Soblówka, a village in Beskid Żywiecki, on the very border with Slovakia, and there to a mountain cottage with a soul, built in 1894. Despite the fact that we visited many places in the following weeks, we knew that our hearts had already chosen it. We became the owners of a mountain cottage right on the trail, surrounded by silence and breathtaking views of nature, away from the rush of the city. Come to us in the mountains to experience peace and quiet, listen to the singing of birds, and the roar of deer in autumn, gaze at the starry dark sky, traverse uncrowded mountain trails, follow unpaved trails in snowshoes in winter, and we will be happy to share the family atmosphere on-site, by a campfire or fireplace, we will tell you about the contact of townspeople with everyday duties in a mountainous cottage and we will tell you about local cultural traditions.

Currently, at your disposal, we offer a separate house with three rooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen and a living room with a fireplace and one independent room with a bathroom and a separate external entrance. Outside, we have a barbecue shelter and a place for a bonfire, as well as 3 hectares of meadows around the habitat. When renting the whole house, we offer cozy rooms that smell like wood: Larch, i.e. a double gentleman in the attic with slants. You will find here a comfortable double bed 160x200 with bedside tables and a small bed 70x160 for a child. Douglas Fir is a much larger space for two or four people, One double bed 160x200 and two single. Świerk is a cozy room for two children or adults with two single beds. Take into account that the rooms are upstairs, so in addition to mountain peaks, you also have to climb stairs to bed. Older people with mobility problems and parents of toddlers must remember this. Next to the rooms there are two bathrooms with showers. Each bathroom is equipped with a hair dryer. On the ground floor, we offer you a spacious kitchen with a dining area and an atmospheric living room with a fireplace. The house has central heating so it is warm and cozy. If you want to light the fireplace, we will provide wood and in case of problems with lighting, we are on site to help you. We invite groups and families of up to 8 people for a mountain adventure. We offer a separate Ash room double room, on the attic level with a separate entrance from the garden through the terrace belonging to the room. This room has its own bathroom, a double bed 140x200 and a large exclusive terrace with a beautiful view of the wild mountains, forest and forest animals behind the fence. We invite you for a romantic stay for two. A few important rules that we follow and we ask you to do: It is forbidden to smoke inside the house and within the habitat outside the designated area. As it happens in a Polish home, we change our shoes when entering a cottage. We do not host animals, because we have plenty of wild friends behind the fence. We will host you as befits good friends. We will recommend trails, hostels, restaurants and other interesting facts worth experiencing. In case of any problems, we will always help you because we live next to you in a separate part of the house.

CURRENT GUEST MENU: Challah with crumble - PLN 12 a piece Cheb on rye leaven with grains - 15 zloty loaf Cakes (to choose from: apple pie, cheesecake, yeast or shortcrust pastry with crumble and seasonal fruit) - tray PLN 60 Home-made lard - PLN 15/100 grams (minimum 400 g) Celery pate - 60 PLN / tray (about 1.5 kg) Meat pâté - PLN 65 / tray (about 1.5 kg) Dumplings (to choose from: with cheese, Russian, with lentils, cabbage and mushrooms, with cheese and spinach) - 1.50 / pc. Eggs from free mountain hens 8 PLN / 10 pcs. IMPORTANT Please place your orders at least 3 days before arrival. If you have not placed an order before arrival and your stay will last longer than 3 days, ask about the availability of our specialties. We prepare or order everything locally especially for your arrival, we do not freeze, therefore we need time to prepare. We are also able to prepare other dishes / products for Christmas orders. Of course, you can cook, because when renting a house you have a fully equipped kitchen (fridge, microwave oven, dishwasher and cooker with three burners and necessary kitchen accessories), and in the Ash room a corner with a mini-fridge, microwave, one-burner electric hob, electric kettle , electric coffee maker and tableware. Of course, there is also a place for a bonfire and a barbecue shelter in the mountain clearing. You will be able to eat and keep warm in the light of the fire all night long. When it comes to dining near Jelonków, we recommend: Gościniec Rajec in Rajcza - amazing dishes from a wood-fired oven, but not only, for example, Tagine from local lamb. Gospoda u Wandzi i Jędrusia in Milówka with more traditional Polish dishes. About 5 km from us, we recommend Bacówka on Hala Królowej with incredibly delicious oscypek. Baca sells from May to October. Then he chases 500 sheep from Zakopane for the summer season. Unforgettable views in a package with oscypek. However, all year round, for delicious local cheeses, go to the Serowa Kraina in Rajcza or for a walk to the hostess towards Wielki Smereków. On Fridays in Ujsoły there is a local market on Fridays where you can buy good products, and on Thursdays in Delikatesy Centrum they deliver real cold cuts from local producers.

Wake up to the accompaniment of the bird radio, breakfast, book, mountain, valley, sheep, deer, clearing, mountain, shelter, peak, dinner, nap, bonfire and talks until late at night. This is what a standard day in Soblówka usually looks like. First of all, rest, relaxation, blissful laziness and an active springboard from concrete reality. In the summer, we relax in a hammock, deckchair, on the terrace, surrounded by forests and mountains, and those willing can help us arrange firewood at the house. Our habitat is located on the yellow trail to Rycerzowa and on the other side, to Na Krawców Wierch. There are shelters with delicious food on both peaks. For mountain rovers, we have kilometers of hiking and biking trails in stock. We provide a map and advice on site. In winter, the snow falls and you can't see the end, also apart from building an igloo, a snowball fight, sledding in our field, you can grab a shovel and dig up the house as part of the outdoor movement. After all, time for mulled wine and hot air in a beautiful living room by the fireplace. In winter, you can go skiing just behind the fence, and if you do not have your own equipment, you can rent it near us in Rajcza. If you are not skiing, we have snowshoes for you. Autumn is full of mushrooms and the phenomenal calls of deer in the rut. It often looks like this: "Honey, I'm going under the larch for a while to see if there are butterflies" and it comes back with 4 kilos of mushrooms. There are many local cultural events in the area: In August, Wawrzyniec Huda takes place in Ujsoły. It is a festival of highlanders from Ujsoł, when the weekend is a festival of folk bands from around the world, and the culmination is the evening setting fire to a 20-meter high wooden tower. It is spectacular and the firefighters have everything under control here. An unusual event in our area is the usual spring and autumn ridge. Where sheep graze in pastures and meadows, there are shepherds. These ringing animals go with Bacami all the way from the Tatra Mountains in search of green grass. In June each year, an ordinary shepherd takes place in Soblówka, i.e. the rush of sheep to the village and the accompanying event. In autumn, there is a holiday in Soblówka, i.e. Redyk. Saying goodbye to Baca before returning to the Tarty sheep herd for the winter. Every year, the shepherd chases a herd of 500 sheep across the mountains from Zakopane to Soblówka and back. Not far from us, in Soblówka, there is a shepherd's hut, where Baca works for the time of sheep grazing. There you can buy delicious, fresh and not deceived cheeses. We recommend it with all my heart.

What’s there for children?

Endless tracts of grass, hares, deer, and sometimes sheep outside the window, in winter snow to the tip of the nose and icicles like knight's swords. The reality is fabulous, and this is the best natural playground. There are hammocks and baby swings for rocking. We provide snowshoes, sledges and igloo shovels for the little yetis in winter. The evenings are filled with baking food by the fire, board games, reading books and counting the stars in the sky. Under our mountain (approx. 2 km of the road) there is the Geopark Glinka - an old quarry transformed into open swimming pools. In July and August there is a zipline, rope park, playground and something to eat. There are countless attractions for the whole day of fun. The house has a cot, baby chair, changing table, baby bath and a nappy basket.

How do I get there?

Icon Car

Our address: Mały Smereków, Glinka, Beskid Mountains, Żywiec Beskid Mountains, Poland

Translated by Google Translate.

Our house is located on the top of the Mały Smereków hamlet at an altitude of 690 m above sea level, where you enter from the village of Glinka. The entrance to our mountain hamlet is a short but quite steep asphalt road. In winter the road is often covered with snow and it is possible to enter with 4x4 drive or chains, but you can leave your car downstairs. At the top, at the end of the road, before the fence of the last house, on the right, an unpaved road goes down to the house (the first 50 m of clay and grass are slippery when wet, another 50 m of concrete slabs to the gate). If you are unsure whether it is raining, we will advise you to park upstairs at the exit, we can always help with your belongings :)

Polecamy!
