Latosowo - Domek Bańczyka (z wyżywieniem)

There are three beds in the attic of the house, the beds can be configured in any configuration - one double and one single, or three singles. Downstairs there is a tiny living room with a fireplace and a bathroom with a shower with a low ceiling. In the lounge you will find fruit, a kettle, coffee and tea. There are quite steep, but short stairs leading from the bottom to the top. On the ground floor there is also a room with a Russian banya, i.e. a wet sauna. And that's where the name of the house comes from. We invite you to visit the bubbles all year round. Don't be afraid, in winter you will be warm thanks to the fireplace, which perfectly heats both the attic and the ground floor. Just in case, there is also an electric heater at your disposal. The house itself is small, but it has two large terraces, one at the top, the other just below it at the bottom. We tried to arrange the one downstairs like an extra room, with a wooden bed, rugs, a hammock, a table and chairs. From the upper one there is a beautiful view of the entire area, which you can admire while lounging on the deckchairs. From the upper terrace there is a passage to a platform in the treetop, beautifully lit after dark Important - there is no kitchen in the cottage, so you are "reliant" on our menu. But you can rest assured, cooking is our specialty. Meals are served in the main house, right next door. However, if you want to spend time alone, we can bring you breakfasts and dinners. Adjacent to the Bańczyk House is a corner with an outdoor, heated bathing barrel. This space is independent of the cottage and can also be rented by other guests, but only with respect for your rest and peace. Residents of the Bańczyk house always have priority to rent it. The use of the barrel and the Russian banya located inside the house is subject to an additional fee. In addition to the terraces at your disposal, you can also use the garden located between the houses together with the residents of the main house with guest rooms, located next to it, or run barefoot in our meadows and fields around our farm. There is no kitchen in the Bańczyk House, there is no possibility to prepare meals on your own, so we invite you to our table. You must know that we like to eat tasty food, experiment in the kitchen, reach for good quality products. Many of them come from our farm, so you can expect interesting and unusual dishes on the table. So far no one has complained and everyone has praised ;) For breakfast, which is served at the "human" hour, i.e. usually at 10.00 but not earlier than 9.00, you can expect homemade rennet cheese, including goat cheese made by the hostess from milk from her own goats, honey from her own hives, jams from our pantry, home-made meats, vegetables, salads, spreads, pickles, bread from the local bakery, cheese from the local dairy. There is always something warm from colored eggs from the happiest hens in our henhouse. We also serve herbal infusions from dried herbs, which we prepare ourselves by collecting flowers and herbs in the season. And the coffee? Of course! We grind good quality grains ourselves and brew it in a coffee maker, thanks to which a small amount will put you on your feet in the morning. We will serve it with goat's milk (no worries, our milk does not smell like "goat", we guarantee ;). What can you count on in the evening, i.e. 18.00 - 19.00? We will treat you with a soup, a main course with two appetizers and a dessert. Plus a jug of homemade compote, lemonade or bzówka. We will not describe the whole range of dishes that land on the table, there are a lot of them, and more are still appearing. For example, let's take nettle soup with egg and sweet cream, homemade pickled squash, cauliflower or carrot soup, homemade chicken soup with vegetables and meat or fakes, a Greek soup based on carrots, lentils, onions and tomatoes. There is also borscht soup, an old Polish, forgotten soup awarded at the International Taste Tournament in Liw. Of course, we can also make a classic tomato soup, sour rye soup or cucumber soup, but we will spice them up in our own way by cooking duck broth, adding home-made puree, our own vegetables or unusual spices. Duck with ginger in apples, thyme rabbit in cabbage and tomatoes, baked trout from nearby ponds or beef steaks or rump steaks may be recommended for the main course. For dessert, we will serve you a fluffy, homemade cheesecake with a creamy, cardamom topping with a blob of jam made from the petals of a Damascus rose growing next to the house, or a cup full of fruit accompanied by mascarpone cream with a bit of halva, or a juicy orange cake. You can also order special dishes, slightly more expensive, but we guarantee that you won't eat them anywhere else. These include, for example, young goat meat in sweet onion and cumin, which regular guests always ask for when they return to our doorstep, nutria in vegetables, snail soup or... May beetles soup. It may sound shocking, but it has a very old pedigree and, contrary to appearances, it tastes good ;) We also need to say a few words about edible weeds. Living in the countryside, where a lot of natural, uncontaminated varieties grow around, we began to explore the knowledge of their culinary use. In the season, you can count on tasting young hop shoots in butter and homemade breadcrumbs, weed salad with a dressing based on spruce shoots syrup, egg yolk stew or stewed chickpeas. We also remember about herbivores, let us know and we will prepare vegetarian or vegan dishes, for example we will make white buckwheat groats with the addition of mushrooms, vegetables and herbs, stew with peas, potatoes and peppers or stuffed zucchini from the garden. Due to other duties, we serve breakfast and dinner, but if it turns out that you would like to have a snack during the day, we are open. Just let us know in advance, preferably with breakfast in the morning, and we'll cook something at noon. At home you will find a list of additional, sample dishes with their prices.

In Latosowo you can relax in various ways and spend your time however you like. For those who, after the intense adventures of life in constant rush, expect ordinary, lazy doing nothing, we have a garden nearby with hammocks, garden furniture, deckchairs, blankets and living willow structures. You can read a book from our library there or take a nap while listening to the sound of the wind and birds singing. If you would like to wander a little further from the house (5 minutes on foot), we will tell you where we have prepared a beautiful clearing near the forest in the middle of "nowhere", perfect for a picnic in solitude. Fifteen steps from it, in our meadow, you will find a pond with a tiny alder island in the middle. On cold days, you can do nothing by the fireplace in the Bańczyk House or in the main hall of the House with guest rooms, which will also be at your disposal as long as no one rents this house exclusively. You can hang out there by the warm tiled wall next to the fireplace, listen to vinyl music in a comfortable armchair, or have fun with your friends at cards or other board games. Additionally, you can soak in the hot, outdoor bathing barrel located right next to it (we arrange its rental in advance) or bask in the Russian banya located in the house. A mandatory program for guests is usually... learning to walk on stilts. We have stilts designed by the host's father, who was a "designer", for both adults and children. We don't know which age group enjoys it more. If you prefer to spend your time with us a bit more actively, we suggest exploring the area on foot or on bikes, several of which we have at your disposal. On our 15 hectares there are plenty of forests, meadows and charming places. A little further, a few kilometers from us, the Bug Landscape Park begins, and a dozen or so kilometers from us the wild Bug River flows. It's worth going there, we will guide you to beautiful places or organize a trip for you with our transport. We can also accompany you on an additional nature walk prepared by us, we will show you a nearby badger town that is not on Google maps, fox holes, a place for "rubbing" and bathing wild boars, and together we will look for a woodpecker's forge. If the weather is good and there is little mud, we may find tracks of elks, deer, badgers or beavers. We can also organize weed workshops for you from spring to summer: we will teach you how to recognize edible wild herbs, we will harvest the crops, and then we will prepare a tasting treat together. Our absolute hit are the carpentry workshops, during which our guests choose the type of wood and, under the supervision of the host, make a beautiful board according to their own idea for serving food or as a stand. We will be happy to invite you for a ride in a historic horse-drawn fire truck, pulled by a tractor or a ladder truck. We also have a historic Beetle ready to go (also a fireman's car, from a nearby fire station) - a trip through the fields and meadows in it is quite an experience. We will show you around our farm, introduce you to goats, rabbits, nutria, introduce you to Romka and Mańka, our horses, and during the season you can help us cut hay. There are two stud farms in our area where you can sign up for rides. One is behind the forest, 20 minutes on foot, 5 minutes by car from us, the other a little further, a dozen or so kilometers, 15 minutes by car. In the nearby town of Kosów Lackie (5 km from us) there is the only brine graduation tower in the region.
