Maciejowiec Castle Hill Apartment I

The apartment is located in a former stable building, located on the premises of a Renaissance manor house, right in front of the entrance to the historic palace park. This is the only apartment that is currently available to guests. We live in the manor area because we are constantly working on the palace and park. We also have some neighbors here. The apartment includes: – 2 bedrooms, each with a double bed, – 2 bathrooms, – kitchenette. In each room you will find: – linen bedding made in a quiet workshop in the Jizera Foothills from high-quality Polish linen, dyed using ecological methods, – antique furniture renovated by local conservators, – old, renovated wooden floorboards, – various books in English, German and Polish, also by local writers. Don't worry about the temperature in winter, we have central heating.

At your request, we will discreetly deliver a picnic basket for breakfast to your door - you are welcome to enjoy it in your room or take it with you to the apple orchard or to the Dziki Wodospad (a wonderful 20-minute walk through the forest).

In the small, quiet village of Maciejowiec (formerly Matzdorf), with only about 120 inhabitants, whose history dates back to the Middle Ages, on the edge of the forest there is the "Old Castle" - a Renaissance manor, built in 1627–1632 on the Castle Hill. It is surrounded by historic buildings that partially require renovation. In the 1960s, apartments for employees of the State Forests were built in former stables located on the edge of a beautiful forest. We purchased one of them and after a thorough renovation, we made it available to our guests as an apartment. The Bóbr Valley Landscape Park, located in the Jelenia Góra Valley, the Kaczawskie Foothills and Mountains, and the Jizera Foothills, is very diverse in terms of terrain. The beaver flows between meadows and creates numerous oxbow lakes and wetlands, which are the habitat of many rare species of plants and animals. River basins and interesting landscape relief make it an extremely picturesque area with intensely lush vegetation. Renaissance Manor In the 17th century, the manor belonged to the von Spiller family from nearby Pasiecznik. The manor often changed hands and was plagued by disasters: fires and invasions by foreign troops. Distance from the apartment: directly in front Von Kramst Mausoleum Built by Emma von Kramsta, it became the final resting place of her tragically deceased granddaughter Renata von Gersdorff. Distance from the apartment: 10 minutes on foot Maciejowiec Palace Built in 1834–36, acquired by Emma von Kramst in the early 20th century, taken over by the Nazi state during World War II. Currently under renovation. Distance from the apartment: 5 minutes on foot Wild Valley A rocky section of the Maciejowicki Potok valley before its confluence with the Bóbr River. In the most spectacular part of the gorge there is a beautiful cascade called Dziki Wodospad, and right next to it there is the entrance to a small cave called Dzika Jaskinia. Distance from the apartment: 20 minutes on foot Pilchowice Dam The highest stone-arch dam in Poland. Distance from the apartment: 10 minutes by car, about 50 minutes on foot.
