The idea to make the house available to guests arose from the suggestions and questions of visitors to the area about the possibility of accommodation. The building has always aroused curiosity and there is nothing strange about it. It is a typical arcaded house, characteristic of the buildings of Żuławy at the beginning of the 19th century. It was established in 1803 at the request of the then owner of the property, Johann Jacob Ziemer. Over the next decades, it changed hands, until it was handed over to my family after the Second World War. My grandfather was resettled from the Eastern Borderlands, in 1947 he settled in Marynowy. My dad was lucky to be brought up in this house and that's how I finally became the owner of the building and part of the estate. At first, I was not convinced of the idea of living in Żuławy and taking care of a 200-year-old house. My husband and I lived in Belgium and I really came back to do the restoration of the family monument. I wanted to take care of matters, renovations and have a 100% eye on what is happening with the house. We devoted some of the space to our own apartment, and when we started renovating our corners of the house, we also renovated the rest of the house. This is how large rooms were created with a soul and volumes of history hidden in beams, walls and boards. We are glad that the enormous efforts of the whole family were not in vain, and this historical monument can serve future generations.
