Villa La Speranza

This Italian estate is hidden in the picturesque Apennines, and our part of the building has an area of 360 m² and surprise - it will be only for you. It can accommodate 10 people - it's up to you whether you go on a family trip or with a large group of friends. In our house you can find exclusively: – 5 bedrooms and 3 separate bathrooms (on two floors), – equipped kitchen, – living room with fireplace and dining room, – TV room with an equipped bookcase, – outdoor swimming pool – shared with our family who come there from time to time (it occupies a different floor of the building visible in the photos), – two terraces – provide great places to relax and enjoy meals outdoors, – barbecue on one of the terraces, - big garden, – parking on the premises.

The kitchen is all yours, equipped with everything you may need for cooking. We encourage you to taste the flavors of Italian cuisine. In Tuscany, don't count only on pasta. Get ready for flavors enriched with rice, groats and soups, rich in fresh herbs such as basil, rosemary, tarragon or thyme. Unsalted Tuscan bread - pane toscano, Tuscan Marzolino sheep cheese and long-ripened Lardo bacon await your taste buds. We also recommend Tuscan beef steak (Fiorentina or bistecca Alla Fiorentina), Cacciuccio fish soup or Ribollite - bread soup with beans and cabbage. And definitely don't miss the opportunity to get acquainted with wines from Tuscan vineyards. In the surrounding villages you will find small grocery stores (alimentari) with high-quality food, and if you want to do more shopping, head to the Coop supermarket in Arezzo, where you can buy fresh meat, tasty cheeses and seafood (we recommend the wonderful squid), which you can then bake on the grill.

Many attractions in our area are within walking distance, for example: – Montauto castle with a church and a chapel, – the medieval town of Anghiari, only a few kilometers from the villa. During the holidays, Arezzo can be visited in large numbers (although certainly less than other famous cities, but if you can, it is worth coming here outside the main season). What to visit in Arezzo: – Piazza Grande – the main city square in Arezzo, – Palazzo Pretorio – decorated with the coats of arms of city mayors from the 15th to 17th centuries, – Basilica di San Francesco – with frescoes by Pierro della Francesco, – Duomo d´Arezzo with Museo Diocesano di Arte Sacra (Museum of Sacred Art) behind the cathedral, – Church of Sana Maria della Pieve (1140-1320) – considered one of the most beautiful churches in Tuscany, – Archaeological Museum of Arezzo, – Casa del Vasari. Lovers of history and chivalry will definitely enjoy the annual Giostra del Saracino (medieval knights' tournaments - fights with the Saracen; September). Moreover, on the first weekend of every month, the famous Fiera Antiquaria antiques market takes place in the city square - the oldest and largest market in all of Italy. Too little? Arezzo is located approximately 74 km from Florence and 30 km from Cortona, where you can go to further discover Italy.
