Casa Acantilado
House
Casa Acantilado, like a guardian of the cliffs, welcomes its guests with the sound of waves, reminding them of the power of the elements. Nearby, in the picturesque town of Salobreña situated on a rock, stands a castle. The sounds of a lute and a sad song coming from its tower? Legend has it that it's the unhappily in love Princess Zorahaida, who failed to escape with her beloved.
There's no need to write about Casa Acantilado being a masterpiece of design. We'll just add that in this project, almost like in the 15th-century love story, challenges were plentiful. Difficult conditions, steeply sloping terrain. Cliffs. Limited budget. With a pinch of ambitious ideas from the owners and architects - they created an explosive mixture, finished with exceptional care and diligence by local craftsmen. It's no wonder it's been called one of the most incredible buildings in the world.
In Salobreña, you won't meet princesses anymore - unfortunately. But the winding streets scattered among white houses remain, perfect for a leisurely stroll. And local delicacies. It's worth trying the traditional, crispy bread with olive oil, tomatoes, and salt, known as "tostada".
