Château de Sibra
Agrotourism
This castle was in ruins! Decades of neglect, piles of rubble, cobwebs, and plaster crumbling like stale gingerbread. A battle of brushes and paint between Sibylla and layers of dust in this French residence. And the result? A castle that was once a shadow of its former self now shines proudly among the rocky hills of Lagarde, between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. It’s a transformation that would make its original owners proud—over 150 years ago, they created an extraordinary jardin exotique (exotic garden) and a model farm here.
The garden remains stunning. The views are still breathtaking. The Pyrenees – majestic in every season – wild, rugged, filled with hidden trails and secluded corners. These enchanting extras won over Sibylla when she purchased the property, knowing it demanded rolled-up sleeves and hard work.
Now, guests can soak in the charm, take a walk, and enjoy the peace and quiet. Whether you want to sit in silence, chat with friends, hop on a bike, or simply do nothing at all.
