Ecohotel el Aqua
Hotel / Spa
A man with a mission to save the world (and guests' nerves) decided to create a hotel. But not just any hotel - one that blends into the landscape like a chameleon on vacation. Anthony claims that "this is not a hotel, it's a search for a holistic way of life". We'll add - it's worth starting with a Japanese shiatsu massage!
In the sleepy village of Arico el Nuevo on Tenerife, a 200-year-old stone house is experiencing a second youth. Once a winery and shelter for hardworking peasants. Today? A sanctuary for souls tired of urban hustle and a place where stress evaporates faster than water on hot lava. The green garden full of olive, lemon, banana trees and palms bears no resemblance to the dry field it was until recently. The scent of lavender and rosemary wafts from the host's plantation, from which he produces essential oils.
Stays at el Aqua are exceptionally intimate, designed for just two people. Why have a crowd when you can savor the silence? A cup of coffee in the morning, on a lounge chair in the shade of the trees. A swim in the saltwater pool, seamlessly integrated into the space. The chance to meet Kalo, the chef who prepares exquisite dishes from local ingredients. And the dining room? In a cave! Because who said fine dining can’t be a bit... mystical?
