For us this house has a calming effect. It doesn’t shout with colors or distract with knick-knacks. It’s simple yet cozy, with wood and natural light taking center stage. In time, it will be covered in greenery. That’s the plan, to blend even more into nature.

It’s big enough for groups who like their own space—for ideas, for laughter, for unhurried rest. Kids get their own playroom, while the “grown-up kids” can get competitive over foosball. There’s a fire pit for long evenings, a yoga terrace for stretching into the morning, and forest trails starting right outside the door. In summer, you can jump into the lake, paddle on a SUP, or just lie on the dock and watch the sky. Winter? The ski slopes are right next door.

And now the best part: windows in all shapes and sizes, straight out of a movie—with cushioned sills made for curling up with a book. They open up to Lake Gérardmer, so even slow mornings come with a spectacular view. A sauna, whose relaxation benefits need no introduction. A hot tub for long evenings. And a balcony, just to sit and be. Because in a place like this, you really don’t need much more.
