Tirisondola
Apartment
When Thomas arrived here in 1983, he was welcomed by unusual residents—rats and scorpions. The crumbling farmhouse on the hill had a picturesque view, but living here without water, electricity, or windows was quite a challenge! Thomas saw the hidden potential of the place and rolled up his sleeves...
Forty years later, there's no trace of the ruin and rats. The rustic charm remains, free from unnecessary luxury—an old goat, carved tables, a marble bench, or a stone well. Here, you can find a ceramic studio with an extraordinary kiln, a museum showcasing a stunning collection of ceramic tiles (which Thomas collected throughout his life!), and three guest apartments featuring original elements—wooden beams, brick floors, and simple decorations. All waiting to be discovered like hidden treasures.
Tirisondola is located near the medieval town of Chiusdino and serves as an excellent base for exploring Tuscany's classics—Volterra, Siena, or Florence itself. And coming back here is once again an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Surrounded by nature, peace, and quiet, you can spend your time hunting for the terrace with the best view. Kids will love the special treat—a pond where they can zip-line like Tarzan and then slide straight into the water. Rumor has it, the frogs put on a pretty amazing concert after dark!
