Muzeum Regionalne w Dobczycach
Museum

The origins of the open-air museum date back to 1967. Over the next dozen or so years, several valuable wooden architecture objects from nearby towns were moved to the castle hill. The exhibits that can be seen in the open-air museum were collected thanks to the generosity and involvement of many residents of the city and surrounding towns. Currently, the open-air museum consists of four historic buildings and special buildings built for exhibition and storage purposes. The forge is located in a former granary from 1863, moved from Zagórzany (Gdów commune). The workshop equipment comes from the forge in Kornatka, where several generations of blacksmiths from the Czyrnek family worked, and the forge of Stanisław Nowak from Siepraw.
The inn building, dating back to 1830, was moved from Krzyszkowice (Myślenice commune) and located under the castle. In the inn you can see exhibitions depicting the everyday life of the inhabitants of Dobczyce and the immediate vicinity, attributes accompanying celebrations, and learn about crafts that have been the basis of the city's economic development for several centuries.
The building where you can see the "Livebearer's Land" exhibition about local agriculture and breeding dates back to 1890. Originally, it served as a cheese house - a place where cheese was stored, and later as a hen house. He was moved from Brzezowa from the Gaik farm, the areas of which were flooded with the waters of Lake Dobczyce.
In a residential house in Dobczyce, dating from the second half of the 19th century, an exhibition "The End/The Beginning" was arranged, which takes the visitor to the border of life and death.
The shelters contain agricultural tools, means of transport and other objects whose purpose and operation are a real mystery to modern people.
It is also worth paying attention to the stone pillar chapel - an element very strongly embedded in Polish landscapes. The column topped with a cross, with bas-relief depictions of the Passion worn away by time, dates back to 1604. He was moved here from the Gaik estate in Brzezowa.
