Skansen Wsi Pogórzańskiej w Szymbarku
Museum

Pogórzańska Open-Air Village Open-Air Museum prof. Roman Reinfuss in Szymbark is one of the four branches of the Museum - Karwacjan and Gładysz Manors in Gorlice.
It is impossible not to notice it, because it is located in the center of the village, in the manor area, which was once a part of the former Castle estate. On an area of approximately 2 ha, we have over 16 historic buildings where the inhabitants of the villages of the Gorlice Foothills once lived. All you need is a bit of imagination and the help of the open-air museum employees to imagine everyday life and compare it with how we live today. We mainly have single objects here, transferred from larger complexes. In this way, there were, among others, a complete single-building homestead - a smokehouse from Siary, an example of the poorest cottage of those times. You can still smell the smoke from the stove here…
Do you know how people used to cook and sleep? Two of the four cottages located in the open-air museum (from Siary and Moszczenica) are fully equipped with old furniture, dishes and tools related to traditional households. We will explain to you why old beds are shorter than those in your bedrooms.
Next to the residential buildings, we located facilities that once functioned as service workshops. On the route presenting folk industry there are: a forge, windmills for grinding grain, an oil mill and a kiln for firing dishes. The weaver's cottage, included in the rural technology trail, is both the craftsman's home and workplace. There are also farm buildings in the open-air museum: barns, a cowshed, and a parson's granary.
In the immediate vicinity of the open-air museum there are brick manor buildings - a Renaissance castle from the 16th century, a manor annexe (around the 18th century) and a wooden bourgeois manor house from the early 19th century. 20th century, moved from Gorlice.
