Karczma Berta
Restaurant

Karczma Berta is an over 200-year-old cottage where you will find peace and eat your fill.
It's fresh - every morning we prepare meals for you with our own hands. It's tasty - beef dumplings have a unique taste and the pelmeni broth is always well seasoned. It is also quiet - the inn is hidden away, yet close to the Sanctuary.
Our specialty is potato dumplings with meat from the recipe of Grandma Janina from Lithuania. We also serve dumplings from Warmia, plince with cream and fresh dumplings with regional bread. We are also famous for delicious dumplings with very thin dough and the filling is the most important thing: with beef, Russian dumplings with cracklings or sweet cottage cheese. We also make most of the drinks ourselves: fruit, elderberry or dandelion compote and homemade lemonade. For beer lovers, we have great regional beers from Browar Kormoran or Gościszewo, and for drivers - podpiwek or kvass from Lithuania.
The inn was created by the Kaczorowski family out of love for history and good food:
Wojtek - founder and owner. A chef who invented recipes for stuffing for dumplings and pelmeni and created one of the best broths in Poland.
Karolina - co-founder. He is responsible for decorating tables and rooms and looking after guests.
Waldemar - he was the one who renovated Berta and collected all the equipment. History lover - knows (almost) everything about the region.
Wiesława - thanks to her skillful hands we can eat such wonderful pasta, dumplings and cakes. Heaven in mouth!
The inn is open from April to October, daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and from November to March, from Friday to Sunday from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m.
