Pstrąg Ojcowski
Restaurant

Ojcowski Trout is a family business founded with the mission of restoring the splendor of the Ojcowski National Park ponds, but we like to say that it is really a "state of mind".
Every day, in spite of the ongoing climate change, by conducting conservative breeding, we take care of the presence of brown trout in our ecosystem. We also have a smokehouse, where our widely known product, present on the plates of top chefs, is carefully prepared using traditional methods.
Our specialty is Ojcowski Trout, smoked naturally on beech wood without the addition of preservatives or artificial colors. We serve trout with local bread. We recommend wine from local vineyards, delicious and healthy juices, mineral water from Wysowa Zdrój and beers from regional breweries with trout. Ojcowski Trout comes from a trusted, ethical farm in Lesser Poland, selected by us. It is a traditional product, exceptionally delicate in taste and harmoniously composed with additives.
Surrounded by ponds, we create a climatic place where nature becomes exceptionally close to you. At the same time, we promote a deep sense of responsibility for it. What else do we offer our guests? The spirit of the Ojców National Park, stories about the region, local products and so valuable in today's times: ease and peace.
You will find us in the heart of the Ojców National Park, about 1 km from the car park under the Castle in Ojców at the Jonaszówka viewpoint. We are located at the intersection of the trails to Łokietek's Cave, the Krakow Gate and the Sąspowska Valley. In our grill garden, we serve original Ojców Trout in a smoked or grilled version. We leave about 60 seats, a large 160m2 terrace with deckchairs and a boat at our guests' disposal.
The trout ponds in Ojców owe their unique character to their picturesque location, natural microclimate and crystal clear and well-oxygenated water from the Młynówka stream. The combination of these factors, and as a result, the imitation of a mountain stream, i.e. the natural habitat of brown trout, creates excellent conditions for breeding.
The tradition of brown trout breeding in Ojców dates back to the 1930s. The trout farm was established in 1935 on the land of Princess Ludwika Czartoryska and was one of the first of its kind in the region. In 2014, Magda Węgiel and her daughter Agnieszka Sendor took over the lease of the unused ponds intended for naturalization. With hard work and full commitment, they not only successfully restored the splendor of brown trout breeding but also created a wonderful place for rest, relaxation and culinary experiences.
In the winter, we invite you to Ojców every weekend from 11:00 to 17:00. The season starts in mid-April and we are here for you from 11:00 to 18:00, and in the summer even until 20:00.
