First, there was John Malkovich. In fact, it's enough to say that he was here, standing on a horse and gazing at a hill, in 1995 to be exact, and already things are getting interesting.
The amazing forest village of Lipowo on Lake Majcz must have appealed to the makers of Volker Schloendorf's 'The Alder King' because one of the scenes was filmed right here, a few hundred metres from our house. Which did not belong to us at the time, and there was nothing to indicate that it would survive another decade. The 1928 ruin was basically useless, but as is often the case in interesting stories, someone didn't believe it. In this case, it was us. The renovation took a few good years, and it wasn't just any renovation.
We really wanted the place to be as healthy as possible for the body and soul. There was no problem with the soul; everyone who comes here lands softly in the zen zone. The body had to be fought against. So the plasters are clay, healthy and breathable. The floor is brick, a natural material fired from clay. As much as we can, we use organic cleaning products. We make tinctures from fruit from our certified farm. You are welcome to visit us and try our tinctures.
