It is impossible to talk about Zawoja without starting with the story of Babia Góra. There is a lot to talk about because it’s a mountain full of secrets. Apparently, witches gathered here, someone else said mysterious characters passed by on their way to the top of the mountain, and it’s believed that dragons lived on the summit and that there’s a portal between worlds in its cave.
In light of these mystical legends, it is not surprising that the longest village in Poland was established near Babia Góra. Its name is Zawoja, once bandits (zbójcy in Polish) lived here and they called it "Zaboja". At the foot of this mountain with witches, in the village with bandits are our houses. We call it Zawoja 1725 and this is not the date of any battle. We have two exclusive year-round houses for our guests. We renovated them in 2019 and filled them with warmth and colour. You can rent them both for more privacy, or share the area with other travellers. We invite you to Zawoja on the trail to Babia Góra, 3 minutes by car from the Mosorny Groń ski and bicycle station and 200 metres from the border of the Babiogórski National Park. From here, you can set off for bicycle routes and paths located within the Babia Góra Trails complex and this is not the end of the story, because in your case, it is just beginning ...
Zawoja 1725 consists of two comfortable exclusive rental houses with a sauna and a hot tub. You can rent one house with complete privacy, or you can rent both houses for a larger group. You will find us on a beautifully situated plot bordering a forest and a stream. In addition to the houses, we also give you a large area around, which we have left for nature development.
HOUSE NUMBER 1
It can accommodate up to 8 people and has an area of approx. 100 m2. It is an ideal proposition for two families with children or a group of friends. The house is fully furnished and comfortably equipped, completely renovated and completely refreshed. It was then that it received new colors, calm gray and saturated red. House heating: floor, radiator and fireplace.
Room layout:
Ground floor - fireplace lounge with two double fold-out beds. The living room has a panoramic window overlooking the stream and the grove. Here, too, there is an exit to a 30-meter terrace located on the side of the stream. On the ground floor there is a spacious bathroom with a washing machine and shower, and a large, modern and fully equipped kitchen with a dining table.
First floor - bright room with a double bed and a panoramic window overlooking a stream and a grove. The room has a balcony facing the sunny, south side. On this level there is also a relaxation corner with access to a second balcony and a bathroom with a shower.
The attic is occupied by a small bedroom for two people.
HOUSE NUMBER 2
It can accommodate up to 4 people, has an area of approx. 50 m. Perfect for two couples or a family with children. The house is fully furnished and comfortably equipped, after general renovation. House heating: floor, radiator and fireplace.
Room layout:
Ground floor - living room with a fireplace connected to the open kitchen. The living room has a double fold-out bed and a dining area with a large table overlooking the stream and the grove. On the ground floor there is a bathroom with a shower and a washing machine.
Level above the living room is a mezzanine with a double bed.
House number 2 also has a spacious, furnished terrace on the side of the stream.
The houses are surrounded by a beautiful, soothing sound of the stream and greenery. Note, we don't have TVs! But rest assured, we're not allergic to technology. The houses are covered with a wifi network, and your mobile phone will work without any problems here.
COMMON PARTS
In the common parts of the habitat you will find: a wood-fired tub, a place for a bonfire, hammocks and garden armchairs by the stream and a large trampoline. We have a car park for 4 cars.
When organizing Zawoja 1725, we focused primarily on ensuring the greatest possible comfort related to accommodation in a private atmosphere. Therefore, both houses are prepared for independent stay, without serving meals.
But don't worry, we won't let you starve to death. The cottages have perfectly equipped kitchens. You will find sufficient cooking equipment, pot sets, tableware, refrigerators, coffee makers, toasters and of course dining tables. The kitchen in the large house also has a dishwasher and a large oven. On site, you will also find basic spices and a bottle of wine that will pleasantly start your vacation in Zawoja.
There are of course a few gastro-spots in the area that we recommend and use ourselves.
And we recommend most of all the Zawojski Trout, known throughout the region. We admit that we are a bit addicted to these inconspicuously white items in the menu card, which will surely happen to you as well.
Ultra-fresh trout in fried, smoked and steamed versions, served on site. Fish sausage, trout in brine, pates and salads to take away. For this obligatory beetroot leaven or rye soup. Keep in mind our recommendation - fish soup, trout liver and insane roe. From us to Trout: 15 minutes.
Apart from trout, you will find here all the most important taverns and pizzerias, which are only a few minutes away by car.
First of all, we recommend getting bored. Detox from the city is one of the few things in Zawoja that we guarantee in writing. However, for those looking for activities and attractions, we have a lot of recommendations. The coolest places are:
Babia Góra National Park
The facts look like this: almost 34 square kilometers of forests, meadows and streams. 11 hiking trails with a total length of over 53 kilometers, 3 ski and bicycle routes, 6 educational paths, the Unesco biosphere reserve. All this is dominated by the beautiful Babia Góra Mountain, which is usually a destination for hiking in the Park.
And we are lucky that we are some 200 meters away from the border of the Babia Góra National Park. And we will be honest with you, if you are looking for a definition of the purest air, primeval forest or true nature, this is the place.
Mosorny Groń
Ski and bicycle station with a beautiful, sunny, southern slope, from which you can admire the panorama of Babia Góra while driving. A four-person railway, almost 1.5 km long route, open in winter and summer. Difficulty class - red, so perfect for those who are already skating well and for those who are just skating for the first time.
We have very good news for fans of two-wheelers, there are several downhill routes on Mosorny Groń. Organizational information - Mosorny Groń is located 3 minutes by car from us.
Babia Góra Trails
There is no need to wonder, if you are going to Zawoja, be sure to take your bikes with you! Zawoja becomes a very attractive cycling center of the region. This is, among others, due to Babia Góra Trails, which consists of a network of over 20 kilometers of bicycle routes of varying difficulty.
In addition to the routes, the complex also includes a dual pumptrack with a section of training jumps and a training path for beginners with elements imitating natural obstacles from mountain natural paths. You can get here by car from our houses, but we naturally recommend a bike - 10 minutes away.
Stables
Zawoja and its surroundings have ideal conditions for horse riding. Rides in Babia Góra forests with a view of the Beskids? Or maybe horseback riding on sunny slopes and in streams? You can use such attractions both in summer and in winter. It just so happens that we have two stables nearby, to which we cordially invite you. The stable under Babia Góra "Dyzma" is located 7 minutes from us. "Borys" stable is about half an hour by car.
Besides, it is worth jumping to see:
- Mosorczyk waterfall
- the Lamb Hall and sheep grazing (May-October)
- Black Daniel Park
- Adventure Forest Rope Park (in summer)
- Wypasioną Dolina (rope park and the longest zip-line in Poland)
Kids are welcome with us. The habitat has a large and friendly space where children feel very comfortable. For young children and adults, we have built a springboard that gives a good impression and never gets boring.
