At a glance
The history of this place is a story of how two Varsovians fell in love with the silence of the forest. We dreamed of a place somewhere in a remote area where the roads end or do not reach at all. Where a simple life leads to nature. The Białowieża Forest captivated us with its beauty, silence and the fact that it constantly invites us to discover the wonders of nature. So we made the home we always wanted here.
First, Matecznik was built in our Ostoja Dębosze. We built it from old, reclaimed wood. Later, we built Chata w Puszczy, because we want to share the local microclimate and the daily delights of nature with others. The cottage was rebuilt from a nineteenth-century cottage from the village of Tymianki Dębosze, designed and decorated in accordance with Podlasie traditions. Like our house, this one has no random elements. You will not find a table from a chain store, you will not see a wardrobe made of cheap materials. In other words: nothing will wake you up from this Podlasie dream. We put in a lot of work - Wiktor learned carpentry and made some of the furniture for the cottage with his own two hands. The wood that we used for this purpose comes from an over 100-year-old barn. We also used it for decorative elements that add charm to the cottage. This place is our passion - they say that you can see it indoors, feel it in the air and feel the taste of our preserves.
The cottage is situated on the edge of the forest, 300 meters from a picturesque clearing and the only neighbours that sometimes come by are bison and deer. You are unlikely to run into people. You will not forget meetings with nature for a long time. Come and live in the forest, we invite you.
