The HUS story began in a small intimate cafe where three friends met. On a winter morning, we sat down over tea and before we knew it, an ordinary and casual conversation had turned into a daring plan. We all missed being close to nature, and an idea for a project that would combine architecture and design with a love of nature was slowly budding in our heads. Our HUS (which means HOME in Swedish) allows you to combine city life with an uncontrollable appetite for silence and open space. You can escape from Warsaw to it within an hour. And afterwards? Take a bath in a wooden tub standing on the terrace, stroll along the picturesque bank of the Narew River or light a bonfire and enjoy the company of friends. Feed your eyes with an unbeatable nature series, broadcasted 24/7 and displayed on a 254-inch monitor, also called a widescreen window. We don't even want to look at other screens, they can't beat it anyway. The point is that at HUS, you can slow down, live differently for a while and regain your balance. However, it wasn't just about having ANY place for asylum. It was about creating a home that can be built with respect for nature. That's why we didn't take any shortcuts - we kept construction chemicals to a minimum and preserved the boards with natural linseed oil and by burning them with live fire, according to the ancient Japanese Yakisugi method. As a result, HUS is just as we dreamed it would be. Not only is it close to nature, but it has deep roots in it.

Here Slowhop will describe your place

Host:
Sylwia, Jacek i Marta
The story of the four of them working together is a bit of a happy coincidence. Adam met Sylwia at work and Sylwia introduced him to her husband, Jacek, and her friend Marta. Each of them has done something different in their lives, but the common denominator has always been a passion for good design. Sylwia and Marta are architects, Adam is a designer and Jacek is an engineer. Together they put all their cards on the line for HUS. They built a house in the middle of a meadow and established a design studio. They do what they like the most. They design and realise the best experiences ever, and their 160 cm door to HUS is always wide open to guests seeking peace and quiet in the bosom of nature, surrounded by art and good design.

In an ecological house, designed to be simple and pleasant to live in. We have packed a lot of good things into 35 square meters. The heart of HUS is a living room with a fireplace and a huge window overlooking the meadow (the sofa offers two additional places to sleep). Next to it there is a kitchenette with a dining area, and further a bedroom part with two large, double beds on two levels - for one you have to climb the rungs. The bedroom is adjacent to a bathroom with a shower (there is also a hair dryer) and a two-person Finnish sauna. The area of deep relaxation is complemented by the terrace part with a wooden tub for ritual baths. They are enriched with local views: field hares, Big Dipper and sunsets. The HUS stands in a meadow and doesn't even really have an exact address. It is located in the village of Strzyże, about 10 km from Pułtusk. There are forests on the horizon, and you can walk to the wild bank of the Narew in a few minutes. The location in the middle of nowhere has its charms: peace, quiet, the presence of animals and the absence of people. You can take your pooch, but keep an eye on him - the HUS area is not fenced.

The HUS kitchenette is a sanctuary of a clever chef who, like a Japanese master, will be able to prepare the most exquisite dishes in the world on an 80-centimeter kitchen counter. There are basic equipment, pots, a kettle and a French press, because there is no shortage of good coffee to sip on the terrace. There is also an original option in the living room: a "goat" fireplace is equipped with a hob on which you can cook something in the grandma's way. If you do not have experience in fishing or you simply lack patience and luck, in the HUS area you will find a wonderful Rybaczówka (1 km) where you can taste local delicacies. The house is 4 km away from the nearest shop.

The meadow is the perfect place for lazy afternoons! Unfold the blanket and let the body absorb the staggering doses of vitamin D. Organize a picnic for the family. Play soccer or play stunts with the kids. Or maybe you prefer yoga in the open air or dancing under the stars? Rest the way you like, and in the lovely company of crickets and field hares. There are time lovers: games, hammock and deckchairs. However, the world (HUS) does not end in the meadow. Just a few minutes to find yourself on the banks of the Narew, and there is what everyone likes: walking, Nordic walking, cycling trips, cross-country skiing. It is quiet and pleasing to the eye, perfect for relaxation and a walk with the dog. You can also catch fish, so if you have a fishing rod don't hesitate to use it. In winter, you can meet real (human) walruses here and even join them. What else does the area offer? You go for berries and mushrooms to the nearby forests. All horse lovers will be pleased with the fact that it is also close to the stud. Balloon flights are organized near HUS - if you want to tell you how to track them. The local Kurpie architecture of the surrounding villages is quite a tidbit for many wanderers. We have prepared a map for you with marked paths of our favorite walking routes and objects worth your attention. As part of the cutscene, you can jump to Pułtusk, 10 km away, which hides unexpected attractions. In addition to the former castle of Płock bishops and - beware - the longest market square in Europe, you can enjoy popular gondola cruises, and in summer also reconstruction events where you can meet hussars. And if you are rushing even further, we suggest you jump to the lake in Serock (25 km from the cottage) for summer baths.

What’s there for children?

hejHUS w Strzyżach - What’s there for children?

Our observations show that children often need space, a free hand to explore the secrets of the environment and a little sun to be happy. In addition, they feel fantastic in a tub with lukewarm water filled to the brim with their favorite toys. A stay at HUS is a good opportunity to check if they know all the games from their parents' childhood. Berek, 1,2,3 Baba Yaga is watching, 2 dodgeballs, 3 belts? Or maybe you will organize a common stalking or build a hut? All games are allowed, places are plentiful, and beautiful surroundings. We want kids to feel good with us, that's why we create new attractions for them - a swing or a sandbox in front of the house, and on rainy days they can pull out board games hidden in HUS. For the most active Husowicze there is also the possibility of horse riding.
