When Cyprian Kamil Norwid wanted to stretch his legs, rest his head or find the right rhyme, he would escape to the banks of the meandering Liwiec River. Today, you can do the same. Just an hour's drive north-east of Warsaw takes you to a summer resort in the buffer zone of the Bug Landscape Park. This is a place where you can still admire generals' villas, pre-war dachas and palaces, which give the area a unique atmosphere and remind us of its rich history.
The still living tradition of relaxation on the Liwiec River allows you to catch your breath from the hustle and bustle of the city. Clean air, picturesque landscapes and closeness to nature will delight lovers of walks, kayakers, birdwatchers and nature photography enthusiasts. This is the perfect place to enjoy peaceful mornings with a book or active afternoons in the fresh air.
It's time to pack your bags and backpacks. Come and feel the unique atmosphere of a summer vacation in the heart of the Ostoja Nadliwiecka.
In this warm, year-round house you will find a large living room with a well-equipped kitchen, a large window to the garden and a warming fireplace. In addition, there are 3 comfortable bedrooms with large double beds and two large bathrooms (each with a shower). In front of the house there is a terrace among trees and our wild garden with access to the river.
The house is located in the Natura 2000 zone, in the buffer zone of the Bug Landscape Park. The Liwiec River, which you can access through the gate straight from the garden, flows here without human interference, lazily meandering between the trees.
You can also work comfortably from Gniazdowo. A large table with comfortable chairs works well as a desk for workation, we also have fiber-optic internet and Wi-Fi!
A comfortable and well-equipped kitchen is the basis for a successful holiday. In addition to a full set of equipment and utensils, from a dishwasher to a coffee machine, from a blender to a salad spinner, you will also find basic ingredients such as coffee, tea, olive oil, salt, sugar... And in the pantry even cans of tomatoes and pasta for the hungry.
You can get eggs, cheese and other agricultural products directly from their farms from our neighbours. Just go and say hello - you will find signs on their gates. In turn, the nearest fully stocked shop is located in Barchów, near the train station. On lazy days, it is worth trying the restaurant in Folwark Łochów, which also has a bakery, swimming pool and SPA.
The traditions of the Nest as a summer resort date back to the interwar period, when the then societies of the time built their houses to rest there - doctors, lawyers, scientists, translators, etc. Later, it found its place there, among others cartoonist and historian Szymon Kobyliński.
What has attracted the most demanding guests to these areas for a century? Peace, harmony and closeness to nature. We also wanted to pay tribute to these three by designing our house. We did everything so that, after crossing the threshold, you could devote yourselves to blissful rest, and only that.
In addition, the area offers:
- endless walks from the very house
- meetings with numerous birds, fish and even goats walking freely
- kayaking trips for children and professionals (Kayaks Zuza or U Grześka)
- horse riding (Zakolej Ranch or Stajnia Kaliska)
But most of all, we recommend taking a deep breath and just taking a breath!
What’s there for children?
For a change, we recommend a reliable set of toys: sticks and pine cones. The large garden is ready for jogging, tag games, hide and seek, stalking and following the little inhabitants of the forest. You can look for mushrooms, catch a fish with your parents or go canoeing together (Liwiec is a clean, calm and shallow river) or horseback riding.
What’s there for employees?
A large six-person table will be perfect as an office for work. On warmer days, you can also work on the terrace, where you will find an equally large table. We have fiber optic internet and Wi-Fi in the house!
