The local lakes of Warmia and Mazury hide many secrets: a sunken sleigh - perhaps from an old wedding procession under which the ice broke. Local residents tell this sad legend and many others: about the remains of the Copernicus bridge lying on the bottom, post-German bombs, fishing out planes and about a tank that is still waiting to be discovered. There is also a chance to earn money quickly in the area - wealth is expected for those who are born with twin bulls, then a castle will emerge from the ground - of course with a full treasury and a princess.
In addition, cranes, hussars and ducklings live here. The roe deer herds, i.e. redheads, approach the house and if we keep quiet, they graze "at arm's length". But legends and nature are not everything: the house has a DIY workshop with equipment - you can make a bird feeder, a dollhouse, candles or home decorations. There is also a chance to try your hand at painting a picture on an easel or learning calligraphy - we have specially prepared tableware with instructions. Therefore, history enthusiasts, treasure hunters, lovers of legends, artists and do-it-yourselfers as well as lovers of nature and August blueberry cakes from Olsztynek will find their place on earth here.
In the house we have two bedrooms with double beds: a smaller one (with a 140 cm wide bed) and a larger one (with a 160 cm wide bed) and a baby cot. But also take the bigger kids, because there are two sleeping mattresses waiting for them on the mezzanine. In total, the house can comfortably accommodate 4 adults and 3 children (2 on the mezzanine and one in a cot). The spacious living room (almost 5 meters at the highest point) is connected to the kitchenette. We have a fireplace, a dining table for 6 people, a highchair for feeding the youngest and a sofa with a coffee table, from which you can watch the forest, because the entire wall is glazed. From the living room you can go out to the terrace and to the mezzanine for children. The bathroom has a spacious shower with a thermostat, a hair dryer, a heated floor, a potty and a step for children.
You will rest here in comfortable conditions close to nature, and if you get bored of counting clouds or leaves on nearby trees - visit our workshop. You can tinker, tap, knock, glue, design and teach the youngest to use a hammer and screwdrivers correctly.
You have breakfast and dinner on your own. The house has a fully equipped kitchen (fridge, hob, dishwasher, microwave with an oven option, kettle, Nespresso coffee machine).
We plan to cooperate with a nearby eco farm soon, but for now we recommend the Restaurant with a Green Piecem, and delicious blueberries in Olsztynek for dessert. It is also worth taking a trip to Pluski, where you will find the Złoty Strug Restaurant and the Pluski Smażalnia.
For shopping, it is worth going to the Sunday eco market in Olsztynek - Bio Hub Bazaar, where you will get delicious and healthy products and crafts.
Świerkocin is a tiny town on the border of Warmia and Mazury, but there are plenty of opportunities to spend your free time. You can walk, pick mushrooms, swim, sail, ride a bike or horseback at a nearby stud farm.
We are located in the Napiwodzko-Ramucka Forest, we are surrounded by lakes (approx. 500 meters to the nearest lake, 5 lakes within 2.5 km) and forests full of berries and mushrooms, so - baskets in your hand and rubber boots on your feet. And with a little luck and patience, you will see roe deer grazing in the nearby meadow and cranes flying overhead! If you like to ride bikes, it is worth going on a trip on two wheels (we provide two bikes, including one with a child seat) - one of the routes runs directly by Rudle. In addition, the bicycle trail leads through a picturesque forest and lakes to nearby villages such as Swaderki, Łutynowo, Nadrowo, Marózek, Olsztynek.
In the forest, right next to Rudla, there is a Green Checkpoint no. 58 (points / bars hidden in the forest), which marks the route of orienteering with a map and compass (you can find the map and compass on site). & Nbsp;
It is also worth going for a short - kilometer walk to see the natural monument of the "Devil's Stones" erratic boulders.
And in the house there is a studio where you can spend time together doing what the home lacks time and space for. Here you will find everything you need to make a bird feeder, dollhouse, candles or home decorations. You will also be able to try your hand at painting a picture on an easel or learning calligraphy - specially prepared tableware with instructions will help you.
And if you want to go on a trip, it is worth going to Olsztynek and its Open-Air Museum (Museum of Ethnographic Park) with animals, gardens and buildings equipped with exhibits showing traditional methods of work and rituals in the 19th and 20th century villages. In the season, interesting events are organized here, such as: Warmia and Mazury Provincial Harvest Festival, East Beauty Festival, Regional Herb Festival, Ciesiołka Secrets, Potato Festival, Great Bee Day, Warmia Family Days and many others.
For history enthusiasts, we recommend a visit to the Multimedia Museum of the POW Camp Stalag IB and the History of Olsztynek and the Battlefield of Grunwald. Every year, around July 15, the Grunwald Days are celebrated, organized by the Grunwald commune, the Polish Scouting Association, the army and the knight's brotherhood. In addition to the patriotic celebrations at the monument, a great attraction is the staging of the Battle of Grunwald by numerous knightly brotherhoods from Poland and abroad.
What’s there for children?
This is a place that we created as parents with family trips with kids in mind, so for children we have: an outdoor playground with a slide, a mezzanine with a mini climbing wall dedicated to the youngest, a Wobbel board, a rocking moose, books and board games.
In the DIY studio, kids and their parents can experiment, create and tinker. In addition, the studio has a wall covered with blackboard paint and chalk.
We especially recommend taking children on a picturesque canoeing trip along the Marózka River or to the BARTBO Active Entertainment Park in Butryny.
