If it turned out that Masuria was designed by an architect, it would have to be a very indecisive architect. From the group of those who do not save on materials and their quantity. Because in Masuria we have: mountain stones, clay and peat from wetlands, desert sand, entire ranges of forests and woods, quagmire and most importantly: a lot of lakes of various shapes. And whether a cooler wind blows, or a buzzing mosquito passes by the ear, the Masuria charm cannot be taken away. It is delicious, varied and beautiful.
And when we are talking about treasures, let's go to a tiny Masurian village where a hundred people live - to Bogacka. And is it "rich" here and are the local inhabitants rich? In our opinion, yes. In the afternoons the setting sun is golden on the lakes, in autumn the paths are covered with golden leaves, in the morning the cranes dance on the local meadows, and the forests hide giant mushrooms. If you want some of these great things, come to Mazurus. We will entertain you as our own!
Bogacko is a small village located on Lake Dejguny, 7 km from Giżycko. Still a bit like before. Our house is a rebuilt old Masurian farm, which has an inimitable climate and character.
In the house, in addition to the kitchen and living room with fireplace, there are:
• 2 triple rooms (double bed and single bed) with private bathrooms (in the corridor, but only this room is available); these rooms also have a balcony,
• 2 triple rooms (double bed and single bed) with a shared bathroom.
In addition to the rooms in the so-called "big house", on the property there is a small, independent, two-story wooden house with a large terrace. On the first floor there are 2 bedrooms: a triple bedroom (double bed and a single bed) and a double bedroom (2 single beds) and a bathroom. On the ground floor - an open living space with a kitchen and a sofa bed (additional 2 sleeping places) and a toilet. We have wifi, coverage too, although he likes to sulk - as in the countryside. And as it is in the countryside, we also have flies, mosquitoes and croaking of frogs. We want to point out that you are in an old house - so something creaks here, a cork breaks there, and above all, wooden walls are not thick, so their acoustics leave a bit to be desired (there is a chance that your singing in the shower will be heard by others).
There is also a large garden with hammocks, sun loungers and a children's playground. You will also find a place for a bonfire and a roofed gazebo with a grill and a summer kitchen. The living room has a library and board games. You can walk to the lake in 5 - 10 minutes (depending on the beach you choose), to the forest - 15. But you can also go there by bike (they are waiting in the shed, a bit old, but on the go and free of charge).
You cook your own meals, and you have at your disposal a kitchen, a garden shed with a large grill and an even larger table, tables in the garden and a place for a bonfire.
Nearby, at the market square in Giżycko, you will also find local cheeses, eggs, honey, vegetables, fruits and various other goods.
In the oldest bakery, Kuncer-Krause, you can still eat sweet croissants (like those from your childhood!), and in Delikatesy u Teresa you can get wonderful whole-grain bread from Ruciane-Nida. We will tell you where to buy good fish and which restaurants to visit. Well, there's no way you'll come here hungry!
Let's agree on one thing - you come to us to rest. And when we rest, we know each other like hardly anyone. We will recommend you a totally green reset (not only culinary) and charging your battery in a natural setting. We will send you sunbathing by the lake, sailing, walking in the forest and morning dancing cranes in the meadow. It is worth hopping on your bikes and driving around the area, because there is really a lot to admire - forest paths on the shores of lakes, small villages, forgotten farms and roadside shrines. We have maps and we know great routes, so we'll show you everything.
If you want to sunbathe on the terrace or in the garden - we will understand it perfectly and suggest where to lie the most comfortable and where is the perfect shade for reading a book. However, if you dream of, for example, shanties, there are plenty of events, concerts and festivals in Giżycko and other Masurian cities in summer. It is worth checking where attractions are organized in a given month. However, these enormous rides tire us and we recommend you night jazz concerts on the ship of our friend Piotr Konstantynowicz - maybe you will also like this atmosphere.
And of course, since we are in the vicinity of lakes, it is worth sailing, swimming and sunbathing. In autumn, it is worth going with a basket to the forest and picking fragrant mushrooms, and in winter, hide here in the omnipresent silence.
What’s there for children?
We have two children ourselves and although they are not always present, we know what children need to be happy. Chill and freedom from morning to evening is what our tigers like the most. Sometimes it happens that they don't have time to eat dinner - they are so absorbed in playing in the garden. Especially one corner of it, where there are swings and a sandbox with lots of toys.
In addition, we have balls, paddles and a badminton net, as well as rings and boards for swimming in the lake.
We are also prepared for bad weather - you will find books, blocks and games at home.
