What is your coolest childhood memory? We remember warm summer, the taste of wild apples, hands sticky with raspberries and waist-deep grass in which we could hide. And mom's calling to come back for dinner. Of course, we prolonged these returns indefinitely. And then the nightly counting of stars and songs sung around the campfire. We want to invite you to the land of childhood, where all these memories can come alive, and the brick house where the station master lived will allow you to write more.
We are in the very center of the Myślibórz Lake District, in the land of several dozen lakes, a stone's throw from the Warta Mouth National Park. We are located in the heart of the forest, but two hours are enough to be by the sea or in the very center of Berlin. Right next to the house we have meadows, lakes and mysterious natural areas. Here we eat breakfast on the grass, lunch on the pier, and dinner by the fire. We count shooting stars. We bathe in forest scents and completely forget about the words: "we must", "let's hurry", "immediately". It's slower, calmer, better here. Come to us and put the brakes on your life.
Well, you will sleep in a unique little house - in the house of the stationmaster of a former railway station. We have renovated it so that it can easily accommodate 6 people.
We invite you for a tour of the house! We start at the very top, in our new, bright attic, which, due to its height, has actually become a second floor. It has a new wooden floor and original wooden beams. There is a lot of space and light in it. It is divided into two parts - the first one is intended for children - we have two ourselves and we know how much they need their own kingdom. There are two single metal beds, a chest of drawers, an armchair, and beautiful botanical and astrological graphics. There will be a space here where everyone can feel like children from Bullerbyn - tell scary stories at night, and read adventure books, play board games and draw during the day. The second room is a bedroom with a double metal bed, from which you can admire the floating clouds or the starry sky through the roof window. There is also an old wardrobe, a chest of drawers, bedside tables and an old school desk if you need to work with us for a while. You can curl up here with a book and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and other household members.
In addition to the attic, the house also has a double bedroom, a living room with an attached kitchen, a bathroom with a shower and a dining corner.
As in the real countryside, the house comes with flies, mosquitoes and spiders. After a walk (especially with a dog), it is worth checking whether we have brought along a stowaway in the form of a tick. If you are going to visit us in the warm months, add some insect repellent to your luggage - it should help. We have neighbors across the paved road, but they should not interfere with your rest. There is so little traffic that you are more likely to be woken up by a deer loudly chewing grass than by a passing car. We welcome dogs - we have a fenced area, so they are safe. We only ask you to maintain order and cleanliness, so that running barefoot on the grass does not end in an unpleasant surprise for anyone.
You mix in pots yourself - there is no way we could invade your space. You eat whenever and wherever you want - we recommend that you lie down comfortably in the garden and enjoy breakfast and dinner for a long time. In the kitchen you will find all the tools needed by self-respecting chefs, and the view from the window will make the time of preparing meals more pleasant. There is also a large grill and a place for a bonfire at your disposal, and here is a full list of dishes whose taste will remain in your memory for many years: baked potatoes, corn, marshmallows and apples, to which it is worth adding a bit of cinnamon and chocolate. If you have never cooked in a cauldron over a fire, you have not experienced real forest cuisine. You can try it here. We have a small vegetable garden with herbs that you can feel free to use.
If you want to take a break from cooking, we will send you along the road through the forest to the Restaurant in Sam Las. They feed healthily and at home. You can do your shopping at the market square in Dębno, you will get fresh fruit, vegetables and eggs from the village hen. In Dębno, in the so-called Angel's Barn, you can buy the famous Beetroot Sourdough from Dębno, ecological products and bread. You can buy honey in Dyszno or in Miodosytnia in Chwarszczany (20 km). For wine lovers, we recommend a trip to the Turnau Winery located right next to Lake Długie (delicious!).
First and foremost, leave your watches and alarm clocks at home. Here you are not in a hurry, you live according to the movement of the sun in the sky and possibly listening to your stomach growl. Set yourself up for total chill, relaxation and meditation. It is worth taking comfortable shoes with you, because we will show you some amazing walking routes. We encourage cyclists to take their bikes, because there is plenty of space to ride, and by pedaling you will explore further surroundings, which are definitely worth visiting.

You must definitely go to Ostrowieckie Lake (and don't forget your swimsuits), where the Ostrów Heron Reserve is located - you can both swim and fish there. A bit further there is a beach with a pier and a place for a bonfire - we know from experience that baked sausages and bread taste delicious after a swim (even for the pickiest eaters). It is worth going to Dyszna, about 2 km away from the house - a charming village, to which you go along a road (of course!) through the forest and if you want, on the last section of the road you can deviate slightly from the road and cross meadows and pastures to reach Land of Giants - this is the name we gave to a cluster of old, hundreds of years old, powerful oaks. The estate of the Humboldt family was located in Dyszna, and now you can take a walk in the old park surrounding the estate. The memory of the famous naturalist has also been enshrined in natural monuments - the seven-hundred-year-old Humboldt lime tree and the already mentioned oaks honored with his name. You'll have to take our word for it - it's more than just a walk. Along the way, thoughts and heartbeats are organized and city-stricken nerves are soothed. Not far from us there is also the Kukadło fishing spot and a hidden German cemetery, which is covered with a white carpet of lilies of the valley in spring. If you love nature as much as we do, you will be delighted by the Warta Mouth National Park with beautiful river floodplains, full of unique bird species that find shelter in wet, vast meadows. History lovers will be happy to visit the former Templar chapel in Chwarszczany, the historic churches in Dębina and the Kostrzyn Fortress - through which the Polish-German border passes. Be sure to also go for a walk to the small horse farm in Barnówek, 2 kilometers away. The younger ones can try pony riding, and the older ones can go for a full-fledged horse ride. We will leave you a map of the surrounding area and our original guide. As a souvenir, take with you a hand-drawn map of the immediate area. At the beginning of spring, the oldest marathon in Poland - the Dębno Marathon - takes place in the area.
If the weather is bad, we recommend lighting a fire in the fireplace, making cocoa for everyone and playing board games. We also have a TV with basic channels and Chromecast installed, so you can watch movies and series as part of your packages (HBO, Netflix, etc.), as well as a large collection of DVDs with a player.
We will say briefly: children have a paradise here (we know what we are talking about, we have two ourselves). Here good childhood memories are written by themselves. There is plenty of terrain to run, forest paths to explore, and glades encouraging you to build shelters and shelters. Bats are sleeping behind the shutters, you can see deer nearby (if you are quiet) or wild birds. You can sleep in the garden in a tent with your head held out and count the stars. It is possible not to sleep after overeating with food or after swimming in the lake.
We have binoculars for small ornithologists, balls, jump ropes, rubber for jumping, footwear and rackets. There is a stud farm near the house, so young riders can try their hand at the saddle. For bad weather we have a library full of books on forest themes and a few toys. We have also created a hand-drawn and written book with inspiring stories, games and puzzles for kids, as well as a map of interesting places in the vicinity - which does not prevent you from creating your own based on the experiences of everyday trips.
A specially prepared space in the attic will allow you not to get bored even on rainy days. There, kids can create their own kingdom that no adult will have access to. There they will find books, toys, games, crayons etc.
