Time flies here like a river, the Jabłonka River. After the rain, it is faster and more violent, in summer it is calm, cool and lazy. Then the "depth" is occupied by amateurs of mountain baths, and in winter, when snow covers the area with a blanket, only daredevils enter the water. Here you should turn off the phone sound so that you do not accidentally interrupt the bath in the stream and enjoy the silence in the jacuzzi. Although calls are rare anyway, catching the range is less likely than meeting a bear. And those hives have recently eaten honey from our hives, so be careful.
Welcome to the Bieszczady Mountains, the native land of Aleksander Fredro and the brave family of Bal. Those who, several hundred years before the harbim, founded a defensive settlement here, the most inaccessible on the entire Hungarian Wine Route. It is hardly surprising that they managed to effectively defend Baligród and the surrounding area, since on the one hand they were protected by the steep slopes of the mountains covered with impenetrable Carpathian Forest, and on the other by a mountain river. Just the one whose waterfalls inspired the name Bystre. Centuries later, we took over this mountain lifestyle, with all the benefits of livestock. We turned the old house into a new, idyllic atmosphere, we welcomed it with open arms, added a bit of farm care and this is how Novosiele was created. A place that respects the wildness of the Bieszczady Mountains, which does not inject your nose into nature, but gives you the opportunity to fall in love with this card. In a river designed for bathing, in the autumn rush of red pine trees, in the white smoke rising from the retorts, in the killer views from Połoniny and in peace.
We invite you to a guesthouse with cozy apartments, fireplace lounge, sauna, jacuzzi and breakfast delivered under your nose. Come and catch your breath.
Novosiele, which means modern and idyllic, and at the same time in harmony with nature. We poured a new spirit into the old building (only its walls), in line with the principle of "self-born architecture". We have added large glazing, mezzanines, brick giving an industrial character, modern equipment (large smart TVs, jacuzzi, sauna). However, we decided to create some of the furniture ourselves, as well as the paintings hanging here and there. We painted them here in Novosiel, inspired by the surrounding beauty. We want you to be at home, at ease and relaxed.
The building has a total of 5 apartments and a common room with a fireplace, a sauna overlooking the forest, and a jacuzzi on the terrace.
Up to 3 people will feel comfortable in each apartment. At your disposal there is a living room with a sofa bed connected to a kitchenette, a bathroom with a shower and a mezzanine with a double bed, from which you can admire the mountain river. We know it's nice to disconnect from civilization and mute notifications on your phone, but if you need to look at news from the world or want to see a series, the Internet works very well.
Outside, by the stream, you have a barbecue gazebo, twists of wooden paths and viewing and relaxation terraces.
Each apartment has a kitchenette, so you can cook, heat and prepare something yourself. In the fall we have a tremendous amount of mushrooms under our noses, so it's worth taking a guide with you (the internet can fail, so the book will be a good idea).
If slicing, frying, spreading and serving is the last thing you think about in the morning, I have a solution for you. It is with great pleasure that I will deliver breakfast baskets under your nose, in which there is always something hot and cold. I don't have standard sets, we change something every day, we diversify and intertwine. There is usually something egg warm: scrambled eggs / omelette / fried eggs, something meaty bacon / sausages / sausages, and cold tomato salad, cottage cheese in various flavors, homemade pickles, preserves, bread, sweet bread such as buns / challah / pancake / waffles, fruit juice, coffee / tea are available in the public machine. Honey for breakfast (if the bears don't rob us) is served from our Grandfather's apiary. According to us and the bears, it is the best honey in the Bieszczady Mountains.
You can go outdoors for lunch. Below, I recommend some proven places.
It is worth stopping in the Bieszczady Mountains and taking a moment to catch your breath, go for a morning walk barefoot, drink a coffee on the terrace by the river. It is best to mute the phone (although the range is still poor) so that nothing disturbs the noise of the stream, which is extremely deep right next to our house. This allows for an unusual phenomenon - swimming in the Bieszczady river.
At your disposal is just a few hundred meters of the mountain river bank and almost 2 hectares of clearing and forest. In summer, you can, and even have to, take a bath in the "deep", sunbathe on a rocky beach, soak your feet while lying in a deckchair, or go up to the crystal terrace (the name refers to its shape) and dangle your legs over the stream there. Winter is the perfect time to sea. Immediately after the sauna session, you can jump into the icy water and practice Wim Hoff's breathing techniques.
Here, on the shore, there is also a glass grill shed and over 300 m2 of terraces and wooden paths. It is from them that we recommend admiring the sky, which here is exceptionally black and extremely bright. We have one of the best places in Poland for stargazing. You can also practice relaxation in the jacuzzi on the terrace, in the sauna or with a book by the fireplace in the common room.
If you decide it's time to move, you have a lot to show off. You can walk directly from us along the forest path to Jabłonki. It is a very picturesque route, from which you can enter the blue trail leading to Berdo, then Dunna, Łopiennik and Łopienka.
Right next to us there is also an educational geological path, where, in addition to beautiful views, you can absorb a large dose of knowledge about the phenomenon of the Scale of Bystry, i.e. the exposed layers of rocks aged 100 to 30 million years (Cretaceous-Eocene). The route runs through the valley of the Rabski stream, where you can also see the Gołoborze Reserve, or the quarry in Rabe, where the Wataha was filmed. If you are willing, I recommend reaching the Bobrowe Lake.
I recommend Połonina Caryńska for further trips. The view from the top to Rawki is unforgettable. Połonina Wetlińska is already a classic that must be passed. The view of the Tatra Mountains is worthwhile, and soon on the route you will come across shepherds' huts, which are created as part of the "Podkarpacki Natural Grazing" project and are to be an impulse to return to the idea of sheep grazing in the mountain pastures, which took place before the Second World War.
If you feel like sailing, it's not a problem. The drive to the Solina Lagoon takes only 20 minutes. Who has not yet walked the dam - it's worth it!
What’s there for children?
For children, of course, bathing in the river, building a tower of stones there, collecting black scales (rocks) and creating all kinds of buildings out of them. It will be fascinating to discover the secrets of Bieszczady (rotary, Rabe quarry, Solina dam, trip on bicycle trolleys from Uherzec Mineral), and even walks to the meadows (watch out for the wind).
