Sometimes you can bring various things from the trip. Lots of photos, unusual experiences, maybe a souvenir. And sometimes you may like the place you have been so much that you bring in your soul the determination to live there. Find your place under the sky. And when the space wheel starts spinning, things happen in a strange way. You will find an old mill - although in a desolate state and without a mill wheel, but you can still see its true beauty. Whatever the people around you say, you will not level it with the ground, but you will decide to revive it and restore its ancient luster. For your determination, you will find other, equally passionate people who will support you and know what you desire. For example, so that as much of the original as possible can stay with you, so that what can be used is used and it is good. So really essentially good. Somehow it was with us. All "old men" know what it means to fall head over heels in love like this. We were lucky. And even though the water wheel has not been turning in our old mill for a long time, sit where it was and where the power of the water drove it forward. We want to share with you the force that lurks in its old walls and hips. Showing you that saving the past is worth it.
Wondering where to find us? You can find our The Old Mill in Liptovský Trnovec. Whatever you want from nature by nature, you have. Even mountains, valleys or plains. Both rivers and waterfalls. Or the Liptov Mara on the one hand and the Western Tatras on the other. If you are looking for a place for sports activities, however, you will not find better. And if you are looking for a place for a sweet, undisturbed rest, do not hesitate.
500 m² of open space, light and comfort. And all this crowned by the preservation of the original historical elements of our old mill. The architect who took over did not have the easiest role. But we think he did great. See for yourself! And since we wanted not even the walls to separate you from the power of nature that you have everywhere around here, we completed the interior with natural materials. What do you say to those old stones and hips? To do this, carefully selected furniture and intelligent control, let the rest be the icing on the cake.
We enthusiastically bring up to 13 people to our mill, but you can also come in a small group. We have 6 bedrooms and 5 ensuite bathrooms - ie your own ones, which you can enter directly from your bedroom. Each room is furnished with wooden furniture and beds that will suit that two-meter sleeper. We also relied on orthopedic mattresses. And in 3 rooms we can conjure single beds from double beds.
No matter what large group you come to us in, you will have the entire social space of The Old Mill at your disposal. Not only the kitchen and dining room, but also the common room on the gallery with a high stone fireplace. To keep you tight, there is a 12-seater sofa. So you want to laze? Read, play, practice yoga? Choose.
Our bedrooms:
1st bedroom: double bed + 1 private bathroom
2nd bedroom: double bed + 1x single bed or 3x single bed and 1x private bathroom
3rd bedroom: double bed + 1 private bathroom
4th bedroom: double bed or 2x single bed + 1x private bathroom
5th bedroom: double bed + 1 private bathroom with private entrance
6th bedroom: double bed or 2 x single bed + shared bathroom
Time is always good in a large and spacious kitchen. And not only during the cooking and eating itself. Our kitchen and dining room directly encourage this. Stoves will definitely act on you as a magnet. Are you already comfortable? If you starve or want to prepare something good for your teeth, you will find everything you need in the kitchen. Maybe the spirit of the old mill will impress you and you will bake the bread as well?
In the garden by the terrace you will also find a fireplace with a grill and a pizza oven. Will the potatoes and baked potatoes win or will it be pizza? We propose a draw.
If you would like to go to a mountain hut that the locals know about, ask us. We will direct you.
Our mill is located at the other end of the village. You can vegetate inside on a huge couch, with your legs outstretched, and be trained by the crackling fire in the fireplace. Or you can go out into the garden, onto the terrace, catch the sun's rays, listen to the noise of the stream. Ideally, if you have a cup of coffee or a glass of wine in your hand and the pizza from the oven smells under your nose.
Or take your bikes or real hiking boots with you. Ski in winter and swimsuit in summer. You will be only 2 km from Liptovska Mare. To the Slovak sea. Hatch on the beach or indulge in all kinds of water sports from the invention of the world. Are you attracted to paddleboarding, canoeing or kayaking? Or wakesurfing or flyboard? Maybe you're a calmer soul and would you prefer a sightseeing cruise or horseback riding out of the water? Don't mind hiking and cycling. You will find cycling routes around the reservoir and you can head along one of them to the Museum of the Liptov Village in Pribylina. If you still miss bicycles, you can still borrow them in nearby Liptovský Mikuláš. Plan hiking trips in the Western Tatras or in the Choč Mountains. Do not miss the Kvačianska or Prosiecka valley, the Lučanský waterfall or some of the exceptional Slovak caves. In winter, stop for proper skiing. You will not be far from Žiar, Jasná or Malinô Brdo. Or even quiet somewhere else. Simply - whether you are an adventurer or long for peace, small or large, of those options, there is definitely something for everyone.
If you like comfort as much as we do, you may be tempted by our wellness. In the original, stone-walled basement of the mill you will find a steam sauna for 6-8 people, with a shower, hanging rocking chairs for relaxation after the sauna and also a small wine bar. A staircase takes you from the basement to the terrace with a hot tub for 4-8 people. If you are also interested in such relaxation, let us know in advance and we will come up with something (service in the price list).
What’s there for children?
Enjoy our garden with them! 3000 m2 with an old barn and a workshop, can be really great terrain for some hunts. Favorite hide and seek? They will definitely not stop at this. Let's mention a giant trampoline with a diameter of 4.5 meters, swings and ... a secret walkway to the stream. We already have it in front of our eyes how children will absorb our garden into their world at any time of the year and will only emerge when they want to drink or fill their hungry bellies. We know it from ours.
And if the weather didn't happen, all the boys inside, regardless of age, would have fun with table football. Or choose one of the thermal attractions of Liptov.
If you are heading to us with a small crumb, let us know in advance. Each of the rooms has enough space to place a cot, as well as safety grilles, which we will be happy to provide on request.
