Boletus mutants grow in the local forests, hide mining treasures and run by raccoon dogs. The Brda meanders nearby, and foxes can be watched in hidden clearings. Inhabitants of neighboring villages organize apitherapy sessions, are crazy about cranes or "worship" mushrooms. We are a bit more modest - we lie on the pier, rock in a hammock or warm up by tiled stoves.

We invite you to the squeaky house of Uncle Feliks - a respected farmer who bred horses in Bory Tucholskie. The house has many stories to tell from the beginning of the last century (which is why you may hear inexplicable squeaks and clicks). Huge wooden beds will lull you to sleep, and in the morning you will be woken up by the bird twitter coming from the orchard. All this is held together by a great, impenetrable forest that will buzz your head for a long time.

In our (already old) house, with its creaking furniture and floors, you can choose between two sections of the house and enjoy privacy when traveling with another couple or family. We can accommodate 8 people (up to 10) in any configuration, but we'll advise you on how to make it most comfortable.

The first section of the house, which we'll conventionally call the "fireplace" section, features a double bedroom with a large wooden bed and an attached room, which we call the "children's room" (it has a single bed, toys, and is close to the parents). The bedroom also connects to the fireplace room, which has a sofa and TV.

The second section of the house also sleeps 4 people – three in the bedroom (a double bed and a single bed), and we've added a sofa and a single bed in the living room. If this doesn't bother anyone, the sofa can accommodate two more people, increasing the occupancy of this section to 6 people.

We also have two bathrooms patiently awaiting renovation (with showers), a kitchen with a pantry and, importantly, a Thermomix, a large table where everyone can share late breakfasts, and an attic that's not polished, but can be retreated to when you're feeling overcrowded and ready for a yoga or meditation session, for example. You can freely use the washing machine and dryer, so you don't have to bring your entire wardrobe. They say time slows down here, and we'd even go so far as to say it even stops for a nap in some places, because during the heating season, we heat with tiled stoves, and we have this gentleman who shows up on cold days to warm us up!

In the garden, there's a sauna and a shed with garden furniture and a table for al fresco feasts – we usually sit there after cooking something over the fire. The house is in the countryside, so you can hear agricultural machinery during harvest time.

We don't prepare your food – you're in charge in the kitchen. A Thermomix, dishwasher, and other amenities are available, and the coffee brewed in the espresso machine will energize you. If you'd like, we'll arrange for you to enjoy farm vegetables, goat cheeses, bread baked by the farm's women, and eggs from happy hens (from Mrs. Danusia).

We also have our own orchard, with plenty of apples, plums, gooseberries, and currants in season – you can eat whatever you like.

10 km from us in Tuchola is a traditional farm produce market, where you'll find most of the highest quality products from local farmers and producers. However, if cooking isn't your forte, or you're dreaming of a break from the pots and pans, head to the Patio restaurant in Tuchola or the restaurant at the Hotel pod Jeleniem. In the center of Tuchola, there's a great pastry shop and café called Łuczniczka, which sells amazing chocolate products (be sure to try the chocolate-covered fruit)!

Time does not rush here, lives slowly, tasty and without tension. We spend our afternoons taking naps in the hammocks in the garden, in the afternoons we stroll around the area, and in the evenings we light fires and fry sausages. Sometimes we supplement this schedule with bicycle trips (we have bikes), or we jump in a kayak and cross the nearby lakes (we also have a cart to transport the kayak to the lake). When a lazy one catches us, we only watch the sunset by the lake and we come back to eat in the garden shed - it happens that until dawn.

It's no secret that the area is surrounded by forests (full of mushrooms, blueberries and blackberries). It is worth taking a walk around them at dawn and, in accordance with the Japanese Shinrin-yoku method, undergo forest therapy, which reduces stress, lowers blood pressure and improves immunity - only benefits! If you dream about trips closer to nature, we recommend the nearby reserves: the Cisy Staropolskie Reserve, the Stążki River Reserve with Dwarf Waterfalls at the start and the Island Deer Reserve. A bit further there is the Czaplowisko Wysoka Reserve, where you can see the gray heron colonies - nature lovers will feel here like in heaven. If you want to try apitherapy, a house has been built in nearby Łysków, where you can cure all ailments by breathing hive air (we breathe air with the microclimate of a swarm's nest) and it is safe, because bees are separated from us by a dense mesh.

If you want to spend your vacation actively, be sure to go canoeing on the Brda or Wda or ride one of the many kilometers long bicycle routes nearby (e.g. the Bora Aunt Trail, Brda Valley,
The necklace of the North - Greenway, Tucholski or Jagiellonian). In Bysławek there is a flowing Lake Małe Bysławskie with two unguarded bathing areas on its eastern shore.

You can do more shopping in Tuchola (be sure to go to the Łuczniczka cafe with delicious produced chocolates and see the Swan Fountain) or in Chojnice. In Cekcyna there is a public beach and a guarded bathing beach, in addition, an atmospheric amphitheater and a real mini-golf course. The most famous events in the season are the Midsummer Picnic in Cekcyna and Lubiewo (concerts and woven wreaths and launching them on the water), Nocne Misteria Nadjeziorne in Cekcyna (theater performances) and Cekcyn Electronic Music Festival (a famous festival with over 10 years of history). In Lubiewo, in September, the National Run on the Trail of the Three Towers on the Bory Mountains is organized, on the last Saturday of August, the Communal Harvest Festival is organized, and in the "mushroom village" of Krzywogoniec (at the Krzywogoniec lake) it is worth visiting the Mushroom Festival and trying a real chandar with mushroom sauce.

We also recommend you to go to the Historical Picnic taking place in August at the rocket training ground in Wierzchucin - a great party combined with a picnic and tasting delicious local products. History enthusiasts will be happy to visit Grodzisko Raciąż (the equivalent of Biskupin) in Bory Tucholskie with a partially reconstructed early medieval castle and see the aqueduct in Fojutów modeled on ancient Roman buildings, it is also an area ideal for canoeing, and a ski slope is being built right next to it!

With us, kids have a paradise. They often disappear for days, come back to lunch (or just for dinner) with dreamy eyes and plan complicated plans for huts, stalks and field games. We try not to disturb them and collect as many beautiful memories of holidays in the countryside.

In front of the house (fenced area) there is an orchard with trees designed for climbing, a sandbox used by the youngest generation, and a swing that is queued for and entries are made for. Although the swing is sometimes won by hammocks, in which, in turn, you can read comics or books for hours. Right behind the orchard there is a lake with wild beaches and a pier from which competitions for the best bomb jump are organized.

For bad weather, we have a supply of toys, books and board games, and kids willingly run to the attic and tell their stories there (we don't have to say that adults are not allowed there then?).

If you want to take your kids on a trip, we recommend you the Mining Village in Piła and look for the "Wilhelm Krüger's Chest" treasure (we get a map and a game card with a route to the hidden treasure of the miner Wilhelm written in the form of a poem) - fun for the whole families. In the same place, you can also take part in the "Sztygar's Wedding" - a reconstruction of the traditional Borowiak feast and a mining wedding party from the 1930s, and at the same time get to know slowly forgotten customs and tastes.
