Welcome to Kazimierz Dolny. Before you start sightseeing - leave your luggage first :) I invite you to a side street at the foot of the Castle, from which there is a panoramic view of the Vistula River. You might expect that here, so close to the Market Square, there will be unbearable buzz and first-class asphalt. Well, it looks quite different.
The street is modest in size, paved with cobblestones. There are wooden fences next to it, a bench here and there, a chapel at the end. And we lead a social life there - just like in the countryside. This is the atmosphere we have here. Rural and urban. We are happy to open the gates, say good morning, talk over the fence.
My family history brought me to Kazimierz. Here, during my student days, my parents met, I watched the atmosphere of Kazimierz since I was a child, and when I finished my studies myself, I decided to taste the local life to the fullest. My dad - an architect - has meanwhile designed the house. There was a crumbling cottage right next to it, which could not be saved anymore, but Dad wanted to preserve the atmosphere. He searched for, found and transferred a similar one, matching the surroundings, fragment by fragment. He created an unusually high, multifunctional space in it. Now I, as an architect from the next generation, refresh its interior, add a little new spirit and open it for you.
The Little House is located on a road lined with stone cobblestones, right at the foot of the castle ruins.
Its interior is an open space, where the functions of the bedroom, living room, kitchen and dining room intertwine. In the central part there is a fireplace, and next to it a bedroom with a wooden, double four-poster bed. There are also two ladders leading to two small attics - upstairs you can hide away with a book. We have arranged the cottage in a minimalist way, fully using the charm of wood and stone. It has old, original doors and windows. The furniture is folk antiques or products from old logs. We have chosen the new things - for example a bed made of solid wood - with attention to materials and their texture. There is no randomness here, simplicity and quality reign supreme.
Outside, there is a table under the roof and a private part of the sunny garden with deckchairs and a bathtub for cooling on hot days.
Please note: we operate seasonally, from May to the end of September
There are plenty of pubs around! And the cottage has a small, fully equipped kitchen with a table where you can comfortably eat your meal. We recommend shopping at the local market held on the Market Square on Tuesdays and Fridays between 6:00 and 12:00. We will also be happy to advise you where to buy local cheeses and yoghurts, where to drink lemonade and local wine, and where to bring Lublin's cebularz and kefir for breakfast. There is also no shortage of good restaurants around, where everyone will find something for themselves, for small and bigger hunger. Most of them are just a short walk away, so after an active day you can easily order something on the way back to the cottage.
Let's start with our own backyard. Here, we offer you, above all, sitting on the porch in the fresh air, a modest view of weeds and idyllic flowers in a small wild garden, and a place to relax in a sunny front garden with deckchairs and an umbrella in the atmosphere of a minimalist garden spa.
There is also nowhere to go for a walk with the dog (or without the dog). In 10 minutes you can walk to the boulevards on the Vistula River and ravines, which are in bunches in Kazimierz and its vicinity. We know a lot of good, untamed places near the city and if you want, we will share this knowledge with you.
We have at your disposal two mountain bikes and an alternative map full of natural and cultural secrets of the Małopolska Gorge of the Vistula region (a long list of attractions and monuments is described below). We will keep you informed about the emerging beaches during hot weather and falling water, we will advise you how to sign up for a kayaking trip along a winding river and where to find a beach volleyball court.
We also recommend participating in numerous cultural events: modest, local ones - with our friends, or even with us, because we sometimes organize exhibitions or capoeira shows. The second option is known and appreciated large festivals, such as the Film Festival full of interesting projections and discussions, the Festival of Folk Bands with live music and dancing, or Kazimiernikejszyn - a music festival combined with the promotion of active leisure.
What’s there for children?
The cottage is adapted for couples (one double bed), but if you want to come with a child - we cordially invite you with older children, over 12 years of age, we can prepare an additional mattress. We do not host toddlers for safety reasons - there are two ladders in the house to small mezzanines, and these may tempt small children.
There is no shortage of attractions for children in the area - check out the list below. In our area, apart from the hillside, which you can climb and fight your way through the thickets, on hot days we will fill the garden tub in the sunny front garden.
What’s there for employees?
We have good coverage and a large table catching the sun's rays... But also and above all: we like to work and work - especially creatively.
We have had guests lend us an easel... We are thinking about starting to lend a camper, so that at any time it would be possible to MYk into the unknown... in MYdomek Mały Domek in Kazimierz, paintings, jewelry were created, a film was edited... Maybe you want to write a book? That's also a good idea. Do you want to work remotely, or on the beach? With us, it is possible. You will catch good coverage by phone everywhere in Kazimierz and the surrounding area.
We will not offer a professional office with a CEO's chair,
but we will invite you to calm your head and catch inspiration.
We are well connected to large cities, for us a morning trip to Lublin is standard, or an appointment in Warsaw for nine, which does not involve getting up before sunrise - an hour, an hour and a half and we are there! We do not promote a sedentary lifestyle. We are representatives of digital nomads and we believe that: how much, how and from where we work, and what we do after work have the right to be shrouded in mystery.
Attention! We like Mondays - you can look for last minute discounts for multi-day stays outside the weekend - we warmly invite you to start your week here,
because Monday is Kazimierz Sunday,
and Tuesday is market day - local slowlife.
