What is it like to have your own village? This feeling must have been known to Stanisław Potocki, Hieronim Lanckoroński or Krzysztof Ossoliński, and now you can also get to know you. It is not that now you will have to take over the position of the village administrator, manage the village's budget, organize residents' meetings, adopt resolutions and organize village meetings and harvest festivals. We serve you the best in Private Village. Fishing in the pond at dawn (you have to discover what floats there, because we don't know yet). The buzz of birds in the morning, coffee on the terrace, drying mushrooms over the tiled stove and baking pizza in the oven, ice-cold water from the well, walks to the lake without counting the steps and those to the springs of the Pasłęka river, looking for deer at dusk and a fire with a star session. Behind the village gate, on 16 hectares of land, there are 3 farms. You will also have two neighbors, but at a comfortable distance. On our 2 hectares of wooded land, we have a beautiful farmyard and 3 houses for you. The House of the Host, the Barn and the Workshop, and although the buildings changed their purpose, the names remained. Now they are intended for team relaxation, warming up by the fireplace, reading books, cooking delicious meals, dining together and sleeping until noon. You can rent the whole habitat and then have a really Private Village, or you can choose one house and manage your rest in your own way.
From Olsztynek head towards Mierki, and when you pass all the houses in the village and the forest begins on the left, it is a good sign. You will find us a kilometer away in a rundown surrounded by wasteland. Take your friends, kids and dogs with you - there is enough space for everyone.
In the Private Village, in the Warmian Ustroń region, in a clearing next to trees and a pond. We have 2 hectares of our own backwater surrounded by even bigger backwater - fields and meadows of our neighbors. In these natural surroundings, there are 3 old buildings - the Host's House, the Barn and the Workshop, and although they now have a completely different purpose, the names have remained.
We left what we could in the original, renovated it in the style of country elegance and we are giving it to you. All three can accommodate plus or minus 26 people, i.e. 26 adults and a few children. Of course, you don't have to rent all three. If you have a smaller family or a group of friends, choose a house that suits your needs. Then other summer guests will probably reside in the other buildings.
Your dogs are welcome, they will be able to run from dawn to dusk. Just take into account that our area is not fenced, and in the neighborhood (also without a fence) there are 2 other farms with dogs.
The Host's House
This is the largest of the houses in the Private Village. It has 220 meters, 5 bedrooms and can accommodate 12 people. It is bright, spacious, has a huge kitchen with a tiled stove, dining room, living room with a large fireplace. Really spacious bedrooms, some even over 20m, which is as much as a full-fledged studio apartment. The house has two bathrooms, one with a bathtub. From the living room and the largest bedroom there is an exit to the terrace overlooking the pond. Barn
Our pride and joy. It is 150 meters, 4 bedrooms and can accommodate 8 people. The ground floor, lined with original old brick, is an open, 50-meter living room space, a 2-story high ceiling, a dining area with a table, a lounge area with two sofas and an open fireplace and a tiled stove. On the ground floor there is also a kitchen, 2 bedrooms and two bathrooms. Up the stairs you will enter the mezzanine. There is a cozy corner for reading a book. On the first floor there are also 2 private bedrooms. In the living room you can organize a movie night with a screen (digital projector) on the wall, and on the terrace a dinner with a barbecue in the main role.
Workshop
This is the smallest of the houses in the settlement, which does not mean it is small, it is 70 meters. It is designed for 4 people, although it can accommodate six, thanks to the fold-out corner sofa in the living room. On the ground floor there is a living room with a fireplace, connected to a kitchenette and a bathroom with a shower. On the first floor you will find two large bedrooms with double beds, which can also be used as single beds.
Hideout
An apartment that was created with Guests traveling in couples or as a family with a small child in mind. The space contains everything you need. Comfortable 30 m2 gives you access to a living room with a kitchenette, a fold-out sofa and a table, a bedroom with a large bed and a fold-out armchair and a bathroom with a shower. The apartment has a separate entrance by the barn, so the principle of freedom is still guided by Tomek in His house... /more photos in late spring 2022/
You have to arrange for yourself and your bedding. However, it will not be a problem, because every house has a kitchen so equipped that Nigella, Gordon Ramsay or Magda Gessler could cook here. Depending on the appetite and the number of crew, choose a house that will meet your expectations. We are already in a hurry with the description.
Host's House
Huge kitchen in a classic style with everything you need for contemporary culinary variations or simply delicious scrambled eggs. In the kitchen, in addition to devices that make life easier, such as coffee machine, toaster, dishwasher and oven, there is also an old tiled stove, so you can cook on fireplaces, bake bread or pizza. A separate dining room with a large table for 12 people and an additional breakfast table directly in the kitchen allows the earliest holidaymakers to have a cup of coffee in the quiet of the morning.
Barn
The barn is designed for 8 people and you can easily cook such a large dinner. The kitchen has a 5-burner gas cooker with an equally large oven, large dishwasher, overflow coffee maker, toaster, kettle and all necessary utensils. The greatest advantage of the Barn is a large living room with an open space, a dining area with a huge table for 8 people and an old tiled stove where you can bake bread or pizza.
Workshop
In the Workshop the most modest, because not a full-fledged kitchen, but a kitchenette connected to the living room. This house is designed for 4 to a maximum of 6 people, so a well-equipped kitchenette is enough for everyday cooking. There is no oven in this house, but a coffee machine, toaster, hob and fridge. There is also a round table with chairs for sitting and dining.
What can you do in Private Village? Exactly what you want. You can cook, eat meals in the garden, lie with your cake under a tree, walk in search of mushrooms, dry them over the tiled stove, look for wild animals at dawn and at dusk, throw a fishing rod in a pond or put a towel on your shoulder and go to the lake.
If you are drawn to the water, we are in a hurry with the coordinates:
- The closest is to the Pluszne Małe Lake - 1.5 km on foot - here is a pier from which you can jump, fish, lie face or back to the sun.
- A little further, 2.5 km to the Pluszne Wielkie lake, to the Zielonowo beach. Here is a sand and a pier.
- The Pond Lake is connected with Pluszny Mały, the Świerkocin Channel, and again with the Niski Lake and then the Wysoki Lake.
We have plenty of water for you. So it is worth renting canoes, e.g. in Olsztynek (rafting on the Marózka or Łyna), Pluski (rafting on the Marózka, Łyna or lakes) or in Swadorek (rafting on the Marózka). You can walk through the village to the Pasłęka river or to its springs and the waterfall on the river, about 2 km from the house.
If you have such an opportunity, be sure to take your bikes with you - the area begs you to get to know it on two wheels. And you can easily cover more kilometers, and we have an idea for those kilometers.
It is worth learning about the history of the region and driving to the vicinity of Mielno - approx. 16 km (the Warmian one), where you will find a Pak combat bunker and 8 passive shelters. Such a density of fortifications, preserved in fairly good condition to this day, is extremely rare in Warmia and Mazury.
Right behind Dębowa Góra (16 km) in the nearby forest you will find the old Masurian cemetery.
There are not many tombstones left in the cemetery, and the ones that remain are very damaged, but one in perfect condition will surely catch your attention. It was renovated a few years ago, and the descendants of the inhabitants of a nearby village buried here look after it and look after the grave.
During a bicycle trip, it is also worth visiting Mańki (in the other direction than Dębowa Góra) - 14 km from Mieki. There is a renovated church from 1685 and expanded in 1770. Next to the church in Mańki there is an old Masurian cemetery from the 17th century with many old cast-iron tombstone crosses. The oldest one comes from 1878. In the same cemetery there is a grave of 5 soldiers of the German army who died at the end of August 1914.
After trips or doing nothing, it is worth lighting a fire. You can also hang out by the fire ring until dawn.
What’s there for children?
We have a real firecracker here. The Surprise House converted from an old tool shop is now a brilliant playroom, a base, a setting for playing at home, a hideout from the old ones and a place for sunbathing. Or maybe even hammocking, because on the mezzanine (you climb onto it via a rope ladder) there is a net on which you can lie, play a pirate ship or whatever the children's imagination suggests. The house has toys, kitchen equipment, large and large windows and those for dwarfs, books and games. When you call the kids to dinner, it's best to check the house first, they probably hide there from the soup and the other.
We also have a huge 2 hectare garden (unfenced) with a pond, marshes, lots of trees and paths, and a large clearing with a well, and a 1.5 km walk to the lake. There is no question of boredom.
In bad weather, at a distance of 15 km, there is a 3-level water park, one of the largest in this part of Poland - Pluski.
