This house is full of Danes. They stand in the bedroom, in the dining room and even in the bathroom. If your imagination is already running wild, we reassure you – Mads Mikkelsen will not be staring at you from the corner while you brush your teeth. We're talking about the Danish furniture – the cupboard under the sink, the sofa, the chairs and the table. Here are our favourite Danes.
We brought them from all over Denmark. From Odense, the city of Andersen, comes a green sofa. From Sønderborg, we brought a rosewood dresser for the bathroom, and the table served a family living in a suburb of Copenhagen for half a century. We think about it affectionately, because we met each other there many years before.
For many years now, we have lived between Poland and Denmark. In the Masovian countryside, we have built an ecological house with excellent conditions for hygge. That is, finding happiness in small pleasures. The Landscape Park outside the window will help you, and so will the Danes inside.
The house combines our passion for nature and Scandinavian design. It is as ecological as possible (heated by a heat pump, has photovoltaic panels and a household sewage treatment plant). Moreover, it is equipped with original Danish furniture that we have collected ourselves and brought to Poland.
On the ground floor you will find two bedrooms, a kitchen and a living room with a fireplace, connected to the dining room. It has direct access to the terrace. There are two bathrooms in the house: on the ground floor with a bathtub and upstairs with a shower and sauna. There are three bedrooms upstairs. At the very bottom, in the basement, we have a set up space for yoga, dance, meditation ... or other activities that will inspire you.
In front of the house there is a large garden where you can easily play badminton, ball or play with the dog (the area is fenced). There is also a place for a bonfire, and in the summer we set up a trampoline.
If you believe the guest reviews so far - we have managed to equip the kitchen with everything you may need to cook on holiday. Those who like nice and original ceramics will be happy here - you can even drink your coffee in a different mug every morning. At the local market you can buy fresh vegetables (and not only), and buy eggs from our neighbor. It just so happens that our neighbor also cooks deliciously, so you can order dinners from her - let us know if you are interested in this solution. The menu includes homemade dishes, from cabbage rolls, through soups, to chops. We provide the list of available dishes after booking.
Those who dream of a day spent in sloth mode will enjoy the garden with deckchairs, a hammock, a mini-pool, and in the evening - the option of watching the sunset from the terrace or slowly roasting sausage (or potatoes) on the fire - because if you need to do absolutely nothing and focus on the chirping of birds, Sadoles with his stoic calm will be perfect. There are also entertainment for later, not necessarily only for children: table football, mini billiards and air hockey. And if you prefer to save your sweet laziness for dessert, we recommend you to set out to explore the Nadbużański Landscape Park and its surroundings:
- for a good start, a quiet walking / cycling / running route leading from the house to the Bug River. It is about 10 km long and leads through local roads and paths - we will guide you,
- bicycle routes: the commune recommends 10 routes of various lengths and difficulty levels. They run through the Landscape Park, the surrounding villages and along the river line - you can choose, and the bikes are at our place, at your disposal,
- on the website of the Landscape Park you will find a description of nature trails - the closest one runs through Treblinka and Kałęczyńskie Lakes. It is as long as 31 km, so it will be good to choose a section adequate to your needs,
- one-day canoeing trips on the Bug River and the much smaller Brok River. The length of the route is adapted to the participants of the trip,
- beach on the Bug River in Brok. In the summer it is guarded, you can also rent a boat or kayak,
- and for those who will not sit on the beach in the same town, there is also a walking option by the river - the promenade.
What’s there for children?
Our house is ready to receive children of all ages: we have several useful amenities for you (all listed below), a garden that encourages outdoor play (there is a trampoline and a sandpit for toddlers, a slide and a swing), as well as space in the same house, adapted to the stay of the smallest toddlers (you can see it in the picture). The area also encourages the youngest guests to explore: on walks you can meet many animals seen so far only in nature textbooks, you can also spend the whole day a few meters above the ground - in the nearby rope park, or go canoeing with your parents.
What’s there for employees?
Our furniture carries a story not from this country (only from Denmark), and thanks to such an unusual environment you will feel real hygge. You can use the table in the dining room for work, where you can organize a team meeting or connect to it online. A small pleasure is also working from a comfortable sofa next to the fireplace, with a cup of delicious coffee. Our espresso machine, although designed for home use, can provide support in difficult times (we try to leave you a supply of good beans). In the rooms there are folding tables on wheels that can be added to the sofa or armchair. However, if the tables are not comfortable enough for you, it is possible to unfold the desk, which transforms from a cot. The Internet has a strong LTE standard, and the house is distributed with a cable installation, terminated with 3 wifi routers - so the internet speed in almost all places in the house is similar.
On warmer days, we recommend setting up your office on the terrace, because the internet is also good there. And after work, it's time for a well-deserved relaxation in the sauna.
