A good chance that the door at 4 Kręta 4 will be opened by little Tosia and will show you around the house. Even greater is that your ears will have to get used to the silence surrounding the old, post-German house for a while. Once you cross the threshold, slam the door sharply - no one will be offended, and we will be sure that it has closed. Such charms of an old house that remembers both World Wars and the sinking of the Titanic. The floor squeaks and we park the cars in the driveway thanks to many years of training in the Tetris game. And besides, we have the smell of freshly baked challah, honey from my father and so many mountain trails that you can trek the other way every day.
Jagniątków is the highest district of Jelenia Góra, founded in the 17th century by Czech Protestants. They settled here, on the Silesian side of the Karkonosze Mountains, fleeing religious persecution. They were weaving and then glass grinding. Uranium was also looked for here. Fortunately, it was not found and now we can easily wander in the woods, climb mountains, ski or rest in the garden. We know how important it is to rest - come, we will show you how well it is done.
We invite you to a beautiful, old house with a creaky floor, a forest and fantastic opportunities to spend your free time. Kręta 4 is a post-German house dating back to the early 20th century. From the 1980s to 2010, it belonged to the Wrocław curia, camps and retreats were held here. We are currently searching for its history. The house appears in old German photos, but we keep looking - we are sure that we will learn something interesting about its first inhabitants and the surrounding area.
We have prepared 6 double rooms for you - each with a bathroom, and two additionally have a sofa (on which children or one adult can sleep). The bathrooms have basic cosmetics and hygiene products. Wifi is working, so you can send e-mails, watch a movie or work from here.
It's an old house, so the wooden floors creak and the front door needs to be slammed shut. There are mosquitoes in the garden during the season, so it is worth taking some repellent with you. And the driver's note: the driveway is quite steep and winding, as befits Kręta Street. Sometimes we advise and help with parking the car in the driveway because we have limited space (sometimes it resembles a game of Tetris).
During the holiday season and long weekends, please: come hungry! We will fill you with delicious breakfasts, which are included in the price of your stay. We serve vegetarian delicacies (frittata, shakshuka, vegetable pastes and pates, preserves), fresh bread (sourdough bread and challah bread sprinkled with crumble), local products (eggs from the neighbor's happy hens, homemade preserves, vegetables and fruits).
In the remaining period, it is possible to organize breakfasts for organized groups (minimum 4 rooms).
If you want to do really good quality shopping, head to Targ Rolny Górskie Smaki (Saturday mornings), there is a large selection of local producers of delicacies. It is also worth going to Łomnica for cheese. Our kitchen is at your disposal and you can cook whatever you want.
Jagniątków is a district of Jelenia Góra with buildings typical of mountain resorts. There are many trails in the Karkonosze, both hiking (it's worth taking comfortable shoes with you) and cycling (Giant Bicycle Range). We will recommend you our favorite routes: to the Czarny Kocioł Jagnitkowski, to the Podgórna waterfall and the Chojnik Castle. If you do not want to go on further trips, the Karkonosze National Park starts right next to us - it is worth taking a walk through it.
You can rent two electric bikes and a Renault Megane estate car.
Cross-country skiing and slopes are worth going to Karpacz and Szklarska Poręba (Arena Ski). To sea at the Szklarka Waterfall. And for unhurried sightseeing to Szklarska Poręba and Karpacz. We are quite close to Prague and the rock city of Adršpašské skály - so if you want to go abroad - it can be organized. It is worth taking a trip back in time to the underground Time Gates in Jelenia Góra, taking part in the Piast race, admiring the Jelenia Góra Street Theater Festival or bringing souvenirs from the Jelenia Góra Old Market.
Above all, however, give yourself time to wake up slowly, take a long breakfast, sunbathe in the garden, show coffee on the terrace, catch up on your book. And total relaxation awaits you in the nearby Cieplice Thermal Baths.
What’s there for children?
The kids have a paradise here - we know it from our own experience. They hide in the grass, organize mud battles, slide down the slide, line up the swings, or build sandcastles. Older children ride bikes, including the best sigletrack in this part of the world, take part in the Bicycle Parade or go for blueberry pancakes at the Mountain Hut. Regardless of age, everyone will have a great time at the workshops at the Jula Glassworks and the Natural History Museum and the Museum of Wooden Toys in Jelenia Góra. If you come here for the Teddy Bear Day, be sure to take your favorite stuffed animal to the great parade!
For bad weather, we have a play corner with games and books, and in the Chocolate Shop and Camp66 you can safely take your kids with you - they will have something to do, and you will have a cup of coffee. Rainy weather can be used to visit the Climbing Hall "Pochylnia" - fun is guaranteed.
What’s there for employees?
For workation, we invite you to the common space - the living room, where you will be able to sit comfortably on the sofa and armchairs, and put your laptop on the round table standing next to it. In the dining room there is a large table with chairs, which can comfortably seat 12-14 people. When it comes to distractions, guests with children may appear in the common area. In the spring and summer season, the garden and terrace (with a table with armchairs) are also an excellent workspace. In the woods near the house you will also find hammocks where you can listen to birds singing.
In order to ensure appropriate conditions for video calls, each room has a desk with a chair. In addition, for full comfort, there are laptop stands in the rooms to put computers in bed.
