Chata na Kowalówkach

We invite teams of eight to our modest and wooden thresholds. In case of great need, we can provide you with two additional beds - then the house can accommodate 10 people. The house is three-level, and while exploring it from the very bottom you will find: - a large garage with a table tennis table, table football and a place to store sports equipment (skis, bicycles, sledges, etc.), - sauna with shower and washing machine, - a wine and liqueur cellar (we are currently refilling its contents). On the ground floor there is a living room with a fireplace, a dining table, a traditional wood-fired kitchen and a bread oven (make a pizza in it!). In addition, there is a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom with shower. On the first floor there are bedrooms: - there are 3 single beds in the first one, - in the other one double bed and one single bed, - a double bed on the mezzanine. - at your request, we can provide two sleeping places in the attic. We don't have a TV but we have wifi and coverage so you are connected to the rest of the world. We have built a large terrace around the house with a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains - it is worth sitting here at sunset, and meditating or exercising at sunrise ... although it is difficult to get up for these sunrises, because you sleep well here. Sometimes a dog barks in the distance, sometimes you hear sheep bleating - but we are in the countryside and these are the most normal sounds of it.

The house is at your complete disposal - as is the kitchen. You rule here yourself and cook what you are drooling on. Morning coffee will be made in the coffee machine - be sure to drink it on the terrace with a view of the mountains - energy for the whole day is guaranteed! Interestingly enough, the house has a traditional bread oven, in which (apart from bread, of course) you can make a pizza. The Italian ones don't do it! At your request, we can bring you delicious, local products: bundz cheese, oscypek cheese, long-ripening sheep's cheese (from the shepherd's hut on Piwniczna from Wojtek Jeżowski). If you do not want to cook, you can order home-made dinners delivered straight to the hut or order traditional delicacies from us, which we will prepare in the hut (pancakes with lard, potato pancakes, etc.). About 200 meters from the cottage, there is an apiary that has been run by my father for over 30 years. We produce delicious honeydew honey, so you can buy it. We are also starting the production of honey tincture, but we still need some time. We also have excellent restaurants here, and the most recommended: Czarna Owca restaurant at the Piwniczna hotel, serving excellent lamb dishes, or Chata na Magórach (on the route to Eliaszówka), where you will eat phenomenal, local dishes: dumplings with nettles and wild garlic. Lick your fingers! The place where you can make up for the calories burned on the trail, eat a delicious dessert and drink local mineral water straight from the spring is the Artistic Pump Room. It is also worth visiting the confectioneries Magdalenka and Florence, which serve delicious cakes, desserts and ice cream (Market Square in Piwniczna Zdrój).

There is no way to be bored in the mountains! Unless you really want to, we will tell you where the softest grass is, or how to set up a deckchair on the terrace so that you can see the mountains well. However, if you want to get tired, there are so many routes and peaks around to climb that it would be nice to stay here for the whole season! We recommend you climb Eliaszówka (1024 m above sea level), Niemcowa (1001 m above sea level), Granica (715 m above sea level) and Kicarz (703 m above sea level) - if you want, we can accompany you. It is really worth going to the beautiful Homole Gorge and to the PTTK Shelter on Hala Łabowska. Shorter and less strenuous walks can be made in Piwniczna (Park Zdrojowy, Węgielnik-Skałki, pump room), Krynica-Zdrój, Szczawnica and Stary Sącz. One of the most important points that must be deleted from the to-do list is a boat trip down the Poprad valley - an unforgettable experience for young and old! In addition, there are numerous bicycle routes in the area of varying degrees of diversity and difficulty. Cyclists recommend the route to Kosarzyska, Sucha Dolina, Krynica, Szczawnica and Rytro. The most famous and constantly developing cycle path is AquaVelo, which connects the spas of the border areas (Krynica-Zdrój Muszyna-Piwniczna-Szczawnica- Vyšné Ružbachy-S Tarub Ľubovňa - Ľubovnianske KúpeleBardejov - Bardejov Spa). The route leads through landscape parks, national parks and nature reserves, also includes monuments of wooden architecture and mineral water springs - it is worth taking at least a part of the route (and download a dedicated application with a map in advance). In addition to the bicycle routes, there are excellent horse riding and health paths in the area. Anglers will be pleased to know that fishing is possible in Poprad, and adrenaline amateurs can rent quads. Local celebrations worth seeing are Redyk Pasterski, which takes place every year in the village of Jaworki, a few kilometers away - it's worth taking your kids with you! In addition, Piwniczna hosts Sobótki Nadpopradzkie (workshops for children and adults, wreath making competitions, concerts), Piwniczna Days, the International Festival of "Children of the Mountains" and the beautiful Poprad Autumn. In winter, it is impossible to get bored here, because the Wierchomla Ski Station encourages skiing (there is also a ski school and ski equipment rental, so you can start your skiing adventure here). There will also be cross-country trails, and if you want to ride the Slovak slopes, we recommend visiting Tatranska Lomnica or Bachledka.
