If you ever had the first imperial maps of 1764, few points would probably be familiar to you. However, one rare one in the Ústí nad Labem region has been preserved to this day in a minimally altered form. In historical sources it was called Passtreicher's mill and was built on durable stone foundations. The massive building is located in the meander of the Homolský brook and deciduous forests rustle in the wind. Today it bears the simpler name Byňov, but the impressive genius loci has been preserved.
When we bought this place in 2016, it was a ruin destined for demolition. The collapsed roof and the walls overgrown with air raids did not look very promising, but we did not let ourselves be discouraged from the intention. We are gradually reviving parts of the building and the reward is not only the enthusiastic reactions of our guests. We were contacted by the family of the last local miller Karel Hanl. Our efforts to save the mill moved them and they sent us an album of original photos.
The new building is already in full beauty, the garden is just blooming and the revitalization of the older part is still in the process. We made sure that nothing of the original character was lost, but at the same time the interior invited to relax in a modern, elegant style.
Each of the 3 suites has its own charge and we arranged it as for our own family. In the case of living at U mlýnské babičky, we could rather deliver literally. Before the space opened to full operation, our test guest was our mother. Also thanks to its microscope, the interior is tightened to the smallest detail and the kitchen has an arsenal for demanding culinary magic. You will see that in the cozy arms of the rooms as soon as you fold your suitcases at the door, you will already feel settled and relaxed.

We are on-site, we give our guests space and intimacy, but we're always ready to help
We are married and business partners. My husband Tomáš already has experience with the reconstruction of old buildings, so he was not afraid of the challenge in the form of a large, faded mill. It all started in my parents' kitchen, where we met for lunch. Right from the window we saw the ruins of this historically weathered place. At first, everyone thought we were crazy, but we didn't let that discourage us. With the support of the family, we give new life through the stone wall and garden to the delight of our guests and our son Tadeáš.
