It's time to rediscover the things we hated as kids that we would die for now. Obligatory lying down after dinner, such boredom that parents had only one answer - about watching their own clothes, reading non-mandatory reading, no TV, no internet and average mobile coverage. Here in Lasek, we have it all and even more. Almost 6 hectares of tidy lawns, old trees and unkempt meadows, a living room with a fireplace, bedrooms smelling of wood, a dining room for breakfast at a round table and a garden for serving dinners with compote. It's a very hospitable house where you don't need literally anything. It is great to spend time here lying on a blanket under an acacia tree, walking in the woods, organizing a wreath-weaving contest, playing comet and reading books aloud. Take your favorite people, pets, a basket full of food and analog entertainment with you. You can buy wine on the spot, in the largest vineyard in Mazovia, and you can go fishing at the ponds.
And although Crowds are 2 km away from us, and the capital city is 40 km away, there is a soothing silence and an idyllic atmosphere here.
In a large house (250 m2) on an even larger, half wild plot (5 ~ 6 ha). Although the manor house looks at least 100 years old, it is much younger. It was designed and built in the 90s by my parents, inspired by old Polish houses, driving through open-air museums, browsing books. Over the years, it has been our stepping stone from living in the city, and now we want to share it with you. And there is something to share. A beautiful living room with a fireplace, bay windows where you can read books brilliantly, a cozy dining room for long breakfasts, a garden with old trees.
It is a very welcoming house that can accommodate up to 11 people in 5 bedrooms.
On the ground floor:
- there is a living room with comfortable sofas and a fireplace,
- dining room with a round table,
- combined with the kitchen (pantry next to the kitchen),
- a place to work by the window,
- 2 bathrooms
- two bedrooms with double beds.
On the floor:
- a second lounge and a place to play for kids,
- bathroom with a bathtub,
- three bedrooms, each with a double bed, in one of them an additional single bed.
This is our weekend family home, therefore it is decorated with heart and attention to detail. Furniture, fabrics, paintings, knick-knacks were searched by my mother at flea markets, and later renovated them herself. We spent brilliant family moments here and I hope that you too will feel here like on the most beautiful holiday with your grandmother in the countryside.
Take your pets with you, we have so much grass to run out that it's a shame not to throw a stick. Remember, however, that our area is not fenced and you need to keep an eye on dogs.
It's the perfect home for cooking together. You bring a box of food, you buy wine at the local Dwórzno Vineyard (2 km from us), fish at the Grzegorzewickie Ponds (Wodna Osada) and before you cut the vegetables for a salad, the first bottle is already empty. This is just a prelude to a brilliant dinner among old trees. Wrap the potatoes in foil and throw them on the fire, prepare garlic butter, and spread the baked bread with honey from the Sweet Natura Apiary (8 km from here). On cold evenings, mulled wine can be drunk by the fireplace in the living room, and breakfasts can be served in the dining room, at the round table.
I recommend doing shopping in advance and planning the menu for your trip, take coffee, milk, your favorite tea and ingredients for a good dessert. Later you can draw matches who is standing in the kitchen or roll up your sleeves and cook something together. From experience I can say that it is for the best.
This is where you come for. To the lab, to rest, to spend time together. For lying under a large chestnut tree, plaiting wreaths of wild flowers, admiring the smell of blooming acacia trees and counting apples on old apple trees. From the perspective of attractions, you can bore yourself to death here. Whoever tried, however, knows that it is impossible. The side effect of boredom training can be a full reset. There is no bad thing.
You can take badminton rackets, balls for all kinds of sports, a boule kit, kite, frisbee. The area around the house is about 6 hectares of garden. Some of them are smooth, decorated - there are lawns, flowers, well-ordered greenery, further unkempt meadows and a forest.
The evening is a time for a bonfire, another portion of talks and watching the stars. Bird lovers probably do not need to be reminded that binoculars will come in handy here, but apart from chirping, singing and sprucing, you can meet deer here at dawn, and in winter a herd of elk comes to the house.
On our side of the village, apart from ours, there are still 5 inhabited farms, so the neighborhood is not dense. Our area is really large and wooded, so it is almost a miracle to see another person here.
Walks are organized here on the Pisia-Tuczna River, in beautiful forests or lying upside down. It is worth taking bikes to move around the area. You can take them to the Dwórzno Vineyard for wine supplies, or to fish or fish in the Grzegorzewice ponds. There are thermal pools in the nearby Mszczonów, and in the vicinity there are beautiful forest areas with the Skulski Las and Skulskie Dęby reserves.
However, I suggest that you do not plan anything and get carried away. Board games, a book and valuable time spent with loved ones are enough to be happy.
What’s there for children?
Tree walkers, bullies, wild children - this is the place for you. Here you can go wild, sleep in a tent, climb branches, chase barefoot, play saws, discover the way to the river, watch deer, make a herbarium or cook sand and weed soup.
Show your children how it used to be during holidays. No TV, no internet, no stalls or lasers. Here, boredom is killed with analog games, board games, cooking together and reading books aloud.
What to watch out for:
- stairs to the top do not have a railing,
- in front of the house, there is a depression after the pool, which is currently slightly overgrown and closed, has a step of approx. 1 m deep - the smallest children should be kept an eye on, for older kids it is a great place to play,
- the area is not fenced.
