Well, from the countryside. A village like Marcówka is a reason to be proud. From here we have panoramic views of the Beskid Makowski, Babia Góra, meadows and hills. A wooden house, created for happiness and very family. And the history of the area varies from saints to highwaymen. Listen for yourself. According to an old legend, on the slopes of Chełm, Saint Onufry wandered around the villages in the disguise of a pauper. In one of them he met a poor peasant family who had trouble finding a candidate for godfather. So he accepted their invitation, and in return for hospitality, he gave his family plenty. What the most famous eighteenth-century robber, prowling in the area of the Chełm and Lanckorony mountains, Józef Baczyński, certainly did not do. In honor of the saint, on the trail you will find a chapel with a figure of St. Onuphrius, as you can guess, no one mentions the robber with fondness.
Welcome to the old Wallachian village, to our home to happiness. We have an observation deck with a hammock, a living room with a fireplace, plenty of space for kids and a neighbor's shepherd's stone's throw. In this house you will leave the fast lane of everyday life, you will be like lazy noodles and you will find time for what is usually dusty on the shelf. It is a house where we have spent many happy moments, we wish you the same now.
In the vacation home that we have created for our family, and now we share this good with you. Here, the greenery brazenly breaks through the windows and does not ask for permission, the view of the mountains captivates even the permanent residents, and the height above sea level ensures clean air. The landscape is truly painterly - to Babia Góra and other hills, the water in the well is clear as a tear, but sweet, and the nearest neighbor is 100 meters behind the house and trees. From the front, only meadows and space.
In a beautiful, well-kept garden, on 12 ares, there is a wooden hut that brings happiness, that is Happy. It can accommodate up to 6 people (4 adults plus children) on a fold-out sofa in the living room, on two beds in the bedrooms, and if you want to co-opt your favorite travelers, there are also bed mattresses to be placed on the floor. There will also be a cot for a toddler. The house is self-sufficient - you can cook in the large kitchen, eat in the dining room, relax in the living room with a fireplace, send the kids upstairs to the bedroom-playroom, rest on a hammock on the terrace (40 m2) or drink a cup of coffee in the garden gazebo. You can take bath bombs, because there is a bathtub in the bathroom on the first floor, and if you don't mind splashes, there is a shower in the second bathroom, on the ground floor.
For travelers with dogs, we have a message - the fence around the plot is "leaky", i.e. the fence consists of trees, bushes and sometimes a roach. Better to keep an eye on your pets.
In winter, you may need chains, but plastic ones for latches from the station are enough. The road is cleared of snow, although the last bit is sometimes difficult when the snow is over. There is space for one car under the shed in the garden.
You cook what it brings to your tongue. There is no problem with shopping in the area, ice-cold water can be drawn from a home well, and dinner can be prepared in an atmospheric gazebo with a barbecue. There is a table, there are benches, there is a grill, you can cook. The kitchen in the cottage is fully equipped, from a filter coffee machine, a coffee maker and a spit kettle for coffee lovers, to a dishwasher for the comfortable ones.
If you stick to the rule that during the holidays you limit cooking to water for tea, you will not starve in the area. There is our secret place on the market square in Zembrzyce (they are not available on the Internet, but you can find leaflets in the Chata), you can order take-away meals there - pick them up or order them with delivery. They serve tasty home dinners at good prices. We also recommend other noteworthy restaurants below.
At 460 meters above sea level, life tastes different. The air is clean as a tear, sometimes the wind blows so that its head breaks off, and Babia Góra looks at everything from above and makes sure that our Beskid Makowski is in order.
The happy woman is our place on earth, the house which is our family springboard. We share it with you, because we know that it is an excellent place to rest here. We like to chill in a hammock on the terrace, walk in the forest, take a coffee and cake to Lanckorona. Sometimes, when our ambitions take us, we get up for sunrise on Babia Góra (you have to drive up by car). In summer we go to the river, drink cold water from a well, in winter to the lift to Harbutowice (Szklana Góra), and then we rock in a rocking chair by the fireplace.
There is a small stream in the forest by the house, and in autumn the forest is filled with mushrooms. It is also worth taking binoculars, because you can spot interesting species of birds at every turn. At the forester's lodge there is a board with written hours of bird tricks and species of local birds.
We also have favorite routes. On the main road, after 10 minutes, you will reach the forester's lodge - hence it is in every direction - there are many routes and paths in the forest. The closest mountain is the Chełm mountain (600 m above sea level) and it can be reached in about an hour from the house. Along the way, in the woods, you will come across old chapels or partisan graves with their own history. Trails also start in the area, for example to Leskowiec or Mount Żar.
7 km from us there is the Mucharskie Lake (an artificial retention reservoir on the Skawa River). You can come here for a walk, to admire, but bathing here is not recommended. In Zagórze, by Lake Mucharskie, there is a viewpoint - you have to climb there, there is no observation tower, but from the hill there is a beautiful view of the lagoon. You will find the point on the Google map.
When halny does not make itself felt, it is worth putting on trekking shoes, taking a backpack with provisions and getting to know our picturesque land of Beskid Mały and Makowski. Where to climb, what to see? We already advise:
- Madohora nature reserve, covering the peak parts and the slopes of Łamana Skała, where you will find interesting rock forms - The reserve is crossed by routes: red, going from Leskowiec through the Kocierska Pass to Kozubnik, blue starting in the reserve, running to Ślemień, green going from Targoszów through Gibasy, the Kocierska Pass, Bukowski Groń to Porąbka.
- reserve on Policy - a forest reserve including a high-mountain spruce forest preserved in its natural state, the reserve is located high - from 1,200 to 1,369 m above sea level. and you can meet, for example, the capercaillie or the three-toed woodpecker.
- Mioduszyna (632 m) you can reach it along the blue tourist trail in about 1h 10 minutes. The summit is located in the western part of the Makowski Beskids, in the group of peaks between Skawa, Paleczka, Jachówka and Potok Księży.
What’s there for children?
The kids have a lawn like a carpet, a stream in the forest, a hammock on the terrace, a creative playground in the garden and lots of toys at home. You can go to the river to bathe and soak the feet, to visit the animals to our neighbor shepherd in the Educational Farm Shepherd's Farm at Harnas. We rest here with our children and we know that you can really breathe here - and parents and children will find a place and time for themselves. There is a cot, high chair, books, and even a swing at home.
If you feel like it, go to the nearby mountain. The hills of our Beskids are kind to families with children. If you decide to get Babia Góra - we recommend it with teenagers. Younger conquerors may fail.
