We think that if it wasn't for one stubborn person, we wouldn't be here. And so little and much at the same time was enough - to pursue your dream. It all started in 1876, or to be exact - even earlier. The determined doctor Mikuláš Szontagh decided to change the treatment procedures used so far and to enrich the spa treatment with the climatic one. He gained experience everywhere in the world, also in Italy, France and Switzerland. Dreams and experiences were formed into reality on July 1 in the already mentioned year. At that time, Dr. Szontagh launched his first sanatorium to fight the tuberculosis pandemic. Right here, in Nový Smokovec.

So dr. Szontagh was not only a pioneer who promoted year-round climatic treatment of tuberculosis and other respiratory diseases in the Tatras (which was unheard of at the time), but he also became the founder of this Tatra settlement. Did you know that at the start of the sanatorium, the treatment in the High Tatras was at a higher level than in the then pulmonary sanatoriums of the Alpine Davos in Switzerland?

And since the doctors also have to bow their heads somewhere, the Szontaghovs built a villa on the west side of the treatment area ... The one we invite you to today. Time passed, the villa was inherited from generation to generation, and thanks to the determination of the last member of the family, Mrs. Anna-Katarína and the help of the Vráblovc family, the villa is still standing. Today, we, the second generation of Vráblovci, Katarína and Marcin, are guarding this heritage. We will not give up either and we are fulfilling our dreams here, in this place. We are a small boutique hotel**** in Novy Smokovec, whose tradition and roots go back to the 19th century, specifically to 1876. It was precisely from this year that the story of our villa and later the hotel began to be written.
So that we can take care of each of our guests individually.

And what about our rooms and suites?
They are all designed to make you feel comfortable. We relied on homemade, local craft quality and tried to embellish everything down to the smallest details. We want you to come back to us :)
So, get to know our 2 premium rooms - 3 superior rooms - 2 standard rooms. All with a touch of luxury and unique design.

Presidential suite with a terrace - the largest and most spacious suite in the entire villa for only 2 people. So that you have privacy and the romance of your dreams. The double bed in the bedroom is surrounded by large windows on 3 sides, and the terrace of the apartment is oriented to the south and west.

Junior suite with a terrace - sleeps 2-3 on a double bed and a sofa bed. Relax on the south-facing terrace.

Superior room with bath - you can sleep up to 3 here, on a double bed and 1 sofa bed. The view from the apartment is oriented to the west and Gerlachovský štít.

Superior room with balcony - the first (24 m2) has a double bed and 1 folding chair and boasts a view to the east and Lomnický štít or you can choose the second (25 m2) with a south-facing balcony.

Double room with balcony or terrace - there are two, each with one double bed. The room has either a balcony with a view to the east of Lomnický štít or a terrace facing south.

Each of the rooms has a TV, mini fridge, minibar and black out curtains if you want to sleep longer. You can also arrange your private time for pampering in the indoor wellness.

And what do all our rooms have in common? Undoubtedly the Szontag symbol, the sun from the family coat of arms. It survived the times of deliberate concealment, but in the end it also became part of the emblem of Nové Smokovec and today you can admire it in the entrance hall and in the rooms.

You don't have to worry about breakfast with us. Let us take care of it.
We like to play with new ingredients and flavors so that they will pleasantly surprise you. Enjoy them in the sun with a cup of fragrant coffee in hand and we can also agree on room service.

If we had to choose two phrases that describe our small hotel and Nový Smokovec, they would be the Tatras and the climatic spa. As you already know, Nový Smokovec was founded as a spa town. And they probably couldn't have chosen a better place than in the middle of the spruce forest under Slavkovský štít.

So let our clean mountain air and Tatra nature be the biggest attraction for spending your free time. At all, we do not mean only high-altitude hikes and climbing the towering Tatra peaks. (Remember the mountain guide and insurance ;).

If you don't feel like spending a lot of energy, you can just take a walk. Go on a trip to the waterfalls of Studený potok - on foot or treat yourself to a ride on the cable car and ride to Hrebienok. From there you will have it in just a moment. In winter, we recommend a trip to the Tatra Ice Dome or adrenaline sledding from Hrebieno. During your walks, feel free to aim for one of the cottages (Bilíkov, Zamkovský, Téry, Rainerova, etc.).

For example, Rainer's cottage is the first and oldest one in the High Tatras. In its interior you will also find interesting exhibitions about the history and present of mountain carriers, a collection of old mountaineering equipment, skis and documentary photos. And it is at this cottage, when winter brings a layer of snow, that you can also admire the skill of the cottager Mr. Petras, who every year (since 1998) builds a huge snow nativity scene on the Three Kings.

Why do we encourage you so much to put a little up - down? It's about our climate that we have here. Clean mountain air (above the smoke and dust zone) scented with natural silicas will do you really good (we are not exaggerating). Not only for lungs and other respiratory problems, if you're struggling with them, but we won't deny the effect on our troubled heads and stressed minds.

WELLNESS
And in addition to all that, we also invite you to an indoor wellness... There's nothing easier :) Make an appointment at the reception and you'll have the entire wellness to yourself. Soak in the jacuzzi and warm up in the sauna. In between sauna sessions or at the end, sit in the relaxation room with a fireplace and enjoy the sweet bliss and relaxation of every muscle in your body. After such a rest, we can already wish you sweet dreams...

Do you come with your descendants? So you really can't get around that cable car to Hrebienok. This is probably an experience for young and old. And especially the moment when two cable cars approach each other and for a short time they go around on a split track. And then anywhere to wander according to the age of your offspring.

If you also welcome other attractions, try the toboggan starter trainer, bobsled track, Trickland, Digital Gallery Poliankovo or summer tubing. Anyway, you definitely don't have to worry about attractions or entertainment options for young and old.
