In the place where the Malše and Stropnice rivers meet, inspiration from modern Nordic architecture and an indulgent spirit have merged. The idea of a wood-scented refuge for a group of friends and relaxed evenings on the private terrace ending in a sauna eroded me more and more. So intensely that I started building on my own, with the support of a colleague and other friends. I entrusted the more demanding parts requiring professional intervention, such as the kitchen, to a proven local carpenter. Enough water and nerves have run out, but when you open the wine while looking at the river meanders, you will probably agree that it was worth it.

Forests and undulating watercourses evoke the atmosphere of a barely inhabited region. However, the village of Doudleby was the center of settlement of Slavic tribes between the 8th and 9th centuries until the turn of the 9th and 10th centuries. You would find the first mention of the Doudleby fortified settlement in the Cosmos Chronicle from the 12th century. However, the newly established České Budějovice quickly took on the attention and weight. The place has thus remained a peaceful refuge and today it attracts with its quiet natural wealth.

Sleeping like throwing you in the water is a good standard. The sound of a nearby river, the murmur of the forest, the smell of wood and pleasant fatigue after a rich sauna work better than a lullaby. There are two upstairs bedrooms with a large double bed and a sofa bed in the ground floor living room.

The fully equipped bathroom in a minimalist style offers refreshment in two showers. Especially during a longer stay or after sports performances, you will appreciate the washing machine and dryer.

The kitchen in a minimalist style certainly does not indicate that you should stick to the wall with culinary magic. You will find all the necessary equipment here and you can enjoy the resulting goodies indoors and at the spacious terrace.

In the warmer months, it would be a shame not to pack some delicacies with you on the grill and treat yourself to a relaxing evening under the starry sky by the richly set board.

For fresh and quality ingredients, head to České Budějovice, where you can choose from several shops focused on farm food. From homemade eggs to jams or pastries. If you manage to come across the irregularly held Bee Market, definitely do not miss the opportunity to meet the locals, bite a few still hot cakes and listen to live music. The road is just over 11 km long and you will find the most popular sellers in the region.

The undisturbed peace of nature, the all-wood sauna overlooking the river meanders and good company? You would deserve such relaxation at least several times a year. Treat yourself to unlimited rest in your own wellness and, after a hot therapy, calmly run to cool off in the river. A less adventurous but equally effective solution is the adjacent shower, after which blood will flow all over your body.
Heat shock lifts the mood and appetite, so treat yourself to a snack on the sunny terrace.

Cyclists will find the ideal background here. The safe bike shed is also equipped with a charging station for e-bikes. Nearby you can choose from long kilometers of routes of varying difficulty and unrivaled picturesqueness.

There will be no shortage of cultural experiences either. It is less than half an hour's drive to Český Krumlov and you will be enchanted by the famous Hluboká chateau or the medieval Zlatá Koruna monastery in the vicinity.

Forests and river banks offer plenty of space where children can really enjoy themselves. Guests of all ages are welcome, but we are not fully equipped for the little ones. Therefore, don't forget to pack a travel cot and other necessities.
