If you've ever eaten cuckoos or irises from a crystal bowl at your grandma's or aunt's, there's a good chance that this crystal was made in Piechowice. In other words, in a charming town in the Giant Mountains, where the heat of Huta Julia has been shining for over 150 years. There you can see how glass is made from zero to glass, and then take a bath in the Kropelka Waterfall. Drive under the tunnel carved in the rock, go underground in the footsteps of the old ore mining, and after hiking up, eat a filling tomato at the Shelter Pod Łabskim Szczytem.
Away from the center of events, on the outskirts of Piechowice, an oasis for adults, Koza and Brzoza, was created. Goat, because our natural mower's name is Emilka, birch, because the houses are located in a birch forest. They are made of sea containers and huddled together by walls. It can therefore be said that a pavilion of 4 houses was built from 10 containers. Their names and interior design are inspired by our travels. There is boho Marbella, exotic Bali, Scandinavian Stockholm and crazy London. Choose your climate and go. In addition to comfortable beds, we have a garden for you with a pond, hammocks, a Russian tub, a place for yoga and a fireplace. Our 3 hectares will also be a great run for dogs, so be sure to take them with you. So what, see you in Lower Silesia?
Welcome to a birch forest, off the beaten track of Piechowice Karkonosze. You already know where the birch comes from. And the goat? Soon, Emilka the goat will join us and the project will be full.
On 3 hectares of land with a pond, hammocks, greenery, Russian tub and places to relax, we have a pavilion, i.e. a series of 4 houses made of 10 sea containers.
The houses have separate entrances, their own kitchens and bathrooms, and each has a different interior style and character.
- Marbella is subdued, full of bright colors, boho accessories. It can accommodate 4 people on two single beds and a fold-out sofa.
- Bali is a house inspired by exoticism. Sand colors, lots of plants, natural materials. It is designed for 2 people because it has a double bed made of pallets.
- London is a real madness inspired by the artist Camille Walala. If you like strong colors and patterns, this house is just for you. It has two rooms for a total of 4 people. One of them has a double bed and the other has two single beds.
-Tulum is quite spacious, has a four-poster bed, some boho accessories, and can accommodate 4 people.
Recently, we have a wooden SPA lounge with a massage bed, even a bit of a grazing. You can order Asian, relaxation and sports massages.
Of course, all pets are very welcome. Also, do not leave the dogs at home, because you can go with your dog in the Karkonosze Mountains. Our mountains are even called "the mecca of dog lovers" by some. In mid-May, the Karkonosze National Park published a map on which the routes available when hiking with dogs were marked - you can, for example, go to Śnieżka, follow the black trail to Śnieżne Kotły and even take a lift to Kopa (yes, with a dog). In addition, most local restaurants, bars and cafes are animal-loving. Also, what more can I say - drop by.
Each cottage has a kitchenette, so you can cook something, heat it up, prepare something. There are two places for a fire and barbecue in the garden, so stock up on items for dinner on the fire. The nearest shop is about 3km away, so you'd better save your shopping list or send the biggest walker on the team for the missing ingredient.
If you want, you can order breakfast from us, served in wicker baskets. They are prepared by our friends from the Bird's Farm. In the basket of delicacies you will find: country eggs, country bread, challah, jams, honey from the apiary, cheeses: smoked, goat's milk and goat's milk curd. Plus a vegetable from the garden.
We are travelers and we have seen a lot, maybe that is why we have created for ourselves and you a peaceful haven for rest and trips to Lower Silesia here and there. A place among rustling willows, where you can do yoga on the grass, read books in a hammock, learn macramé weaving or take part in workshops on edible and medicinal plants.
Our area covers 3 hectares, so there will be plenty of space to be alone and to meet other vacationers. You can pick up a glass of bubbles and jump into a Russian tub, arrange a massage after a mountain trip and relax in our small spa, spend an evening by the fire or grill something.
Take your reading kit on vacation and lay down on a deckchair by the pond. Keep in mind that we are on the sidelines of Piechowice, in the middle of a forest. From time to time, you can visit wild animals, and you need to walk for a beer a bit. However, if you are a fan of slow relaxation, you like interesting interiors and peace and quiet, then Koza and Brzoza are perfect for you.
We regularly organize thematic workshops on site. Maybe you will come across the weekend with:
- workshops on edible and medicinal plants,
- treasure hunt treasures in the Giant Mountains,
- wellness with yoga and lectures,
- DIY macramé workshops.
We have a lot of ideas in our head, so who knows what other attractions we will organize.
Apart from that, Piechowice and its surroundings are extremely interesting. After you sleep yourselves off, read a few chapters and take a break from everyday life, we recommend that you see:
- Kropelka waterfall, where you can sea all year round (the water in the stream is very cold also in summer).
- Rock tunnel in Piechowice, ul. Sudecka - is located on a winding road from Piechowice to Michałowice, is several meters long and is the only rock tunnel in this part of Poland.
- Crystal Glass Factory "Julia", ul. Żymierskiego 73 - a must-see in the city. It is the oldest working glass factory in the area. The glassworks is open to tourists, so you have a unique chance to see the entire process of crystal production in a working glassworks.
- City park in Piechowice - the so-called "Glass Garden", the biggest attraction here are glass photos showing famous places in Piechowice, made with 3D laser technology. It is best to visit the park after dark, when the exposition is illuminated.
- Geopark in Krobica, about 30 km from Piechowice, is an underground path "In the footsteps of the old ore mining". 350-meter passage through two tunnels and 13 stands along the 8-kilometer overground route.
- Teatr Nasz and Teatr Cinema, which are absolutely worth getting to know. These are non-public theaters that regularly stage performances.
- Chojnik Castle rising on the top of Chojnik Hill in Sobieszów, between Piechowice and Zachełmie. There are two routes to the castle, both for hikers and cyclists. On your way to the castle, you can also visit the so-called Smugglers Cave.
If you want to reach the tops, choose the route that suits your needs and catch up with the step counter:
The blue hiking trail Piechowice - Schronisko Pod Łabskim Szczytem
The blue tourist trail Piechowice - Lowering near Śmielcem
The green tourist trail Bobrowe Skały - Piechowice
Yellow tourist trail from Borowice to Wysoki Kamień
We have a real treat for cyclists, the Giants Bicycle Range, or MTB singletrack. The routes are located in three communes: Jelenia Góra, Piechowice and Podgórzyn. It's a challenge for intermediate and professional mountain bikers. The Piechowice Loop (western part) begins in Piechowice - the route between Michałowice, Piechowice and Jagniątkowo (19.5 km long).
