In the last century, the most beautiful shell buttons in the world were produced in the area. The shells were fished out of the lazily flowing Wkra, polished, holes were cut and sent to factories. It is possible that you also have clothes with buttons from Sochocin. Here, in the ice-marginal valley of the Wkra river in Mazovia, we have lived in harmony with nature for centuries. We take the best of it. Therefore, we most often travel by bicycle or on foot. We have already tramped the Sienkiewicz Tourist Trail, we have traveled the Four Bridges route by bikes, and in summer we most often visit from the level of a kayak.
The great oak "Piast" is also doing quite well, under which Jan III Sobieski reportedly took a nap. We cultivate this tradition - because nothing compares to a quiet nap under one of the trees in the garden. In addition, we watch the birds, the moose visits us, and when our humor drops, we go out to explore the crops. We burn fires, invent wishes to shooting stars, and when it rains - we stretch out in front of the goat in the living room and count the drops through huge windows. We are located in the middle of fields and near the forest, so you will sleep like children here! We have three bedrooms in the house: on the ground floor there are two with double beds (in one they can be pulled apart). In the bedroom upstairs there is a sleeping alcove with a huge mattress and two single beds.
In addition to the bedrooms, we have a comfortable living room with a sofa bed and large windows through which you can watch animals roaming among the grain and the wind blowing through the fields on one side, and birds singing their songs on the other. From here you can also go out onto the terrace with a view of the grain waving in the fields - a moose has recently wandered here. The living room is adjoined by the kitchen with a dining area. There are two bathrooms in the house - downstairs with a shower, upstairs with a bathtub. There is also a hairdryer at your disposal. The house is air-conditioned, and on cold days you can warm up by the stove (although for those who are lazy, the radiators are also working!).
But this house is not only a place for adults - after all, a young architect actively participated in its construction, successfully demanding attractions for children.
You cook yourself, but it is a pleasure in such a kitchen. We made sure that nothing was missing to prepare holiday meals. A fully equipped kitchen with a fridge, induction hob, oven, coffee maker and dishwasher will make your work easier and give you more free time. There are herbs growing in the garden - help yourself. And in the vicinity (at Agata's) you can buy fresh eggs and milk straight from the cow. Every Saturday there are fairs in the nearby towns of Sochocin and Jońca. It's worth getting up early and buying healthy and organic products from local suppliers.
If you do not want to cook, or you want to go to a restaurant, we recommend our favorite places: Zielony Zakątek in Płońsk (15 km) and Pizzeria di Bufala in Sochocin (5 km). Believe me - your taste buds will be pleased.
We would recommend you to take it easy, lie down with a blanket on the grass or in a deckchair and forget about God's world ... but we know that you (just like us) can be spread with energy and willingness to explore the area. Therefore, when you get tired of sitting still, catch a beautiful shade of tan and read the book to the end - go exploring the area.
There are many nice walking and cycling paths around us, which you can walk on all day long. The house is situated among fields, on the edge of the forest. This unique location makes us an ideal starting point for long walks, bicycle tours and Nordic walking. Depending on your preferences, you can choose a route leading through fields, forests, meadows, villages, or a little further - over the river - whatever you want. We recommend that you collect wildflowers, weave wreaths and do not forget about the basket - mushrooms grow like crazy here!
Horse lovers will be pleased that there is a stud nearby where the less experienced can get riding lessons, and the more experienced ones can gallop through the fields. For fans of water sports, there are also several attractions - less than 5 km from us there is the Wkra River, where canoeing trips are organized. The water in the river is clean and perfect for bathing in the warm summer months. If you are eager for adrenaline, try wakeboarding - in Nowe Miasto, on the Sona River, you can jump on a wake. The lift is only open during the holiday months.
What’s there for children?
We will not hide - our house was created with children in mind - both smaller and larger ones! Our little architect looked after us at every step and suggested new ideas, so in addition to the standard amenities (feeding chair, bathtub, potty), there are plenty of attractions for children in the house and garden! On the open mezzanine, or rather in the playroom - you will find a climbing wall that leads to the hideout (overlooking the entire living room!). There is also a reading house, a sensory path, games (not only for kids!) And a drawing area. And in the garden we have a wooden playground - with swings, a sandbox and a slide, and a trampoline.
In the vicinity there is also an animal attraction for the youngest - the Magic Farm. Here you can feed, pet and even cuddle fluffy alpacas.
You can take slightly larger kids with you on bicycle trips and canoeing trips on the nearby Wkra River. We also encourage you to observe the sky from the terrace, watch wild animals and birds and sing by the evening campfire - we believe that such holidays will be unforgettable for kids.
