The Beskydy Mountains are a protected landscape area, which is three-quarters covered by forest. The mountain ridges connect to the western Slovak mountain ranges. The living conditions here are different than in the rest of the country, and therefore we will also encounter fauna here that is not entirely typical for the Czech Republic. The cleanliness of the rivers and streams is also confirmed by the crayfish and schools of trout that are commonly found in the Beskydy Mountains. Their banks are guarded by otters and newts.
Although larger carnivores were exterminated at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, today we celebrate their return. Thanks to the direct connection to other mountain ranges of the Carpathian arc, the Beskydy Mountains are now home to the wolf, the lynx and the brown bear. However, their occurrence is properly mapped by naturalists every year so that holidaymakers do not get into dangerous situations.

Our cottage is named after a black and white beast that was once called a godfather, uncle or hermit. The badger digs out multi-storey mansions, the corridors of which can be up to 100 meters long. Apparently so that each member of the family has their own privacy. It is an anxiously clean creature that loves company and does not allow proper rest. And we find that nice.

Come and become this contented animal for a few days and relax in the beautiful nature of the Beskydy hills.

The cottage with a beautiful view of nature will delight you from the outside and stun you from the inside. We really took care of it. Classic timber elements, stone cladding and large windows create a place so calming and visually pure that you will experience a complete physical and mental revival.

LIVING ROOM

Sit down on a comfortable sofa and let out a loud “Aaaaach” as you exhale all your worries. If your gaze catches the illuminated minibar, pour yourself a shot glass and toast to the great decision to relax with us.

Make your evenings more pleasant by looking at the tiled stove (or the TV) or counting the tree rings on the solid wood side tables.

4 BEDROOMS

You don’t have to fight over the rooms, they are quite similar. Two are located on the ground floor, two are upstairs. All of them provide you with large double beds with comfortable mattresses and soft blankets. Each room also has its own TV, which is a big hit especially with children.

The cottage has two luxurious bathrooms. One with a shower cabin decorated with retro luxfers, the other with a pleasant bathtub. There are two separate toilets in the cottage.

GARDEN AND WELLNESS ZONE

The large, sloping grassy area is great for running and barrel rolling - and we don't recommend it only for children! Just try to experience the carefree joy of childhood even at an age that no longer starts with a number one.
In the garden, among the tall pine trees, there is a spacious hot tub. You can find the sauna inside the cottage.

TERRACE

Walk barefoot on the natural stone and sit in super comfortable bean bags or loungers. Here you can read, meditate, grill, drink, debate, think, sunbathe or listen to the symphonies of birds.

KITCHEN AND DINING AREA

The kitchen is modern, but its design is reminiscent of the old days. Cooking here will probably take you longer than you're used to - and that's because of the view. While you're cutting, you'll be "stuck" for long minutes at the windows, from which you won't be able to tear yourself away, but that's part of the charm of our cottage.

Everyone misses our dining room after leaving. You all sit down at the long table at once and enjoy a beautiful family moment. And it doesn't matter at all whether you're connected by blood or friendship. The large windows face the greenery, and everything tastes better because of it.

BESKYDY

We know that you won't want to leave our cottage, but we definitely recommend exploring the surroundings. Trust us, it's beautiful here. We have everything for summer and winter sports: cycling trails, hiking trails, ski resorts and cross-country skiing circuits.

WELLNESS

And after a demanding sports afternoon, treat yourself to regeneration in our wellness zone. We have a pleasant Finnish sauna, after which you can cool off in a rain shower. The water is cold, so feel free to scream. Here you are alone in nature, here you can.

A warm jacuzzi is a beautiful end to a day full of relaxation. Enjoy your moment just for yourself, or use the sensual bubbling to rekindle that proverbial spark with your partner. Or, at least, you all pack in there, it will be fun. The jacuzzi is within sight of the cottage among tall pine trees.
And the nature is all around!

TRIPS

Go and see the statue of Radegast, a pagan god, standing on Radhošť Mountain. You can get there by a moderately difficult mountain bike trail or you can get a little closer by car or bus and walk the rest. And if you are in an extra lazy mood, use the cable car.

It is said that at the top of the mountain there was an idol of the pagan god of hospitality, fertility and harvest, Radegast. People came to the sacred mountain, brought him gifts and sacrificed animals. According to legend, the missionaries Cyril and Methodius, who came to Great Moravia to spread Christianity, tore it down and built a cross in its place.

Today, at the very top of Radhošť there is a cross from 1805, a sculpture of both missionaries, a television transmitter and the chapel of Saints Cyril and Methodius. This chapel is the highest church in the Czech Republic. There is a bronze plaque in the chapel commemorating the visit of the President of the Republic T. G. Masaryk in 1928.

The statue of Radegast is now located on the road between the chapel and the Hermitage. The body is male, the face is that of a lion, and the head is protected by a helmet in the form of a bull's head with horns. He holds a cornucopia in his right hand, and an axe in his left. The statue by academic sculptor Albín Polášek was installed on the mountain in 1931, but due to climatic influences, the statue began to crumble. So you can find its granite copy on the mountain. The original is located in the town hall in Frenštát pod Radhoštěm.

The ruins of Hukvaldy Castle, Medvědí skála, or the Beskydy Brewery are also definitely worth a visit.

We have prepared games and toys for the youngest children. They will walk around the garden, with the assistance of their parents, they will bake a few burritos and if you let them sleep in the evening, you can enjoy a beautiful relaxing evening with other adults. The Beskydy Mountains are perfect for family trips, so explore the "Bear Paws" trails.

Older children (but also adults) love our playroom. You will find darts and an amusement slot machine for two. There are plenty of movies and series to watch in the living room. You can swallow them all together in the living rooms, or split up into the TVs in the rooms.
