We have been living here for years. The seventeenth winter in the Bystrzyckie Mountains is behind us. We have mastered snow removal to perfection, we learn how to cultivate plants constantly and stubbornly. We started ecotourism when there was no question of modern hosting in the rhythm of nature. In the countryside, but beautiful and at the highest level. We set off here with great enthusiasm right after studying art. The walls in the apartments are decorated with our drawings and graphics, two washbasins were designed and made by Krysia, and a trained eye will notice that the fireplace matchboxes are designed by Kajetan. Our entire kitchen is also his idea. Seasonal, no recipes, creative, veg and bio. A salad with nasturtium and strawberries? Cream of baked pears with watercress? Just don't ask us about the menu! Only Kaj knows them when he cooks. He is a crazy chef who built an underground greenhouse with his own hands - a walipini, just to have greens in a mountain climate available all year round. And guess what? It works!
Artistry also includes Krysia's workshops - those on baking bread, which can take place spontaneously, and the ceramic and cosmetic workshops that need to be planned much in advance. It is old Sudeten architecture surrounded by meadows and forests, wood, stone and clay, old furniture, lying in a hammock in a plum orchard and starry nights without mosquitoes. All this on a mountain glade, 620 m above sea level. There is always something going on here, rather slowly but continuously. The artist was already a set for a full-length film, a place for art exhibitions, open air sessions and meetings of the local community. Every day it is also completely casual and casual here, i.e. we are bustling about so that you can lie belly up, spend all days on the trails, skate the cross-country trails with a skating step, admire the running ducks and close new books. Come check it out.
First you have to climb 620 meters above sea level, drive past our only neighbor 200 meters, and then you can not start your car engine for the entire holiday. We will welcome you in a quiet clearing with a view of the mountains without any signs of civilization.
Art is flesh and blood ecotourism. We live here, we work here, we grow up with our children, we relax here in the sauna, we grow fruit and vegetables here, we take care of our running ducks, we drink birch juice, we serve you meals, we organize workshops (on specific dates) and we give you breathing space. And there is something to breathe, because the air is as clean as crystal.
In artistic ecotourism, we have three apartments at our disposal, which we have been gradually building over the years.
The STUDIO is actually half of the house (over 80m2), with a separate entrance and a large terrace, intended for 4-7 people. So it will host a group of friends, a large family, but also casually two couples. The apartment is spacious, has two floors, lots of wood, plenty of light, finished with natural materials.
At the entry level:
- a spacious living room with a fireplace with a relaxation area with large glazing (2 comfortable sofas, 2 armchairs, a lot of free space on the floor for playing with children, dancing or yoga)

DZIUPLA is our smallest apartment (for 2-4 people) in the attic of the barn. We have here an insane view of the wildness, a spacious living room with a fireplace and a kitchen, clay plaster finishes, ecological paints, ceramics and old wood. If you like the kitchen the most from your own hands, you can roll up your sleeves and cook. If you rely on us, we only reign supreme in the original cuisine of Kaj - an artistic chef. Vege or vegan slowfood, always in BIO quality, from a permaculture vegetable garden and from a walipini, a greenhouse hidden in the ground. However, do not ask about the menu, because it is one big unknown, although with a guarantee of the highest quality of taste. There is no menu, no recipes, and you never know what will be. I mean, only the Boss knows. It is certain that it will be seasonal, varied and balanced. In winter we open preserves and silage, in summer we grab herbs, weeds, vegetables, fruit and mushrooms. In spring, we enrich our dishes with wild spring vegetables (young nettle, wild garlic, primrose and dandelion leaves). We serve homemade bread all year round - Lemko sourdough bread, spelled baguettes or pita bread. We do not use white sugar, wheat, gmo plants, preservatives and glutamate.
We cook for you from Thursday dinner to breakfast on Sunday for a minimum of 4 people. - that's why you need to arrange it with us in advance. On other days, we suggest where to eat tasty in the area. Please arrange in advance.
You can choose to:
- breakfast and dinner (vegetarian version),
- breakfast and dinner (vegan and / or gluten-free),
additionally:
- vegan dessert / dessert
- organic fair-trade coffee in the following versions: espresso, americano, cappuccino, macchiato, decaffeinated chicory root, with oat milk for baristas.
Each season of the year has its charm in the Bystrzyckie Mountains. This is how you live in a remote area - we are driven by seasonality and the laws of nature. In the summer, when the sun is warming, you can lie in a hammock in a plum orchard, eat blackberries, smell roses, admire the purple lupine, go for a hike to the Burned Pass, eat Orlice shavings in the Jagodna shelter or trout in the Osmelakowa Valley. In autumn, you can bury yourself in our Artist's cocoon. To stare - at the meadow, then at the fire in the fireplace, with breaks for the delicious dishes served from the Kaja's kitchen and (possible) walks in the wild bushes. Winter lasts a long time here, at an altitude of 620 m above sea level. the likelihood of meeting snow is greater than anywhere else. So you can prepare gloves for a change and prepare for the construction of an igloo, making XXL snowmen, crazy rides on tires and sleds (we borrow!). For skiers, there are great cross-country trails (groomed on Spalona 4 km above us or own ones - on the meadows near the house) and downhill runs in Zieleniec, Czarna Góra or on the Czech side. Spring is full of blooming apple trees, juicy greens outside, and asparagus on a plate. Throughout the year, but preferably in the cold months, it is worth warming up in an alder sauna, made by Kaj with bio cosmetics, made by Krysia.
It also happens artistically in Art, because of course it is otherwise. Here you will create your own design ceramic dishes and sculptures, run around the meadows collecting wild herbs, bake bread, dance for many hours, try the effects of ecological cosmetics, and even make your own cream! The calendar of our events is regularly updated (especially due to the viral reality), so when making a reservation you can ask if we are planning something. Our workshops are carefully planned events with specific dates. We have to prepare for them, buy materials, arrange care for kids, which is why they are organized only on designated dates.
From the march we can arrange bread baking workshops. We offer you a return to the taste and smell of real bread - healthy, ecological, nutritious. We will share with you our home recipe and old Lemko sourdough. You will learn how to prepare and bake bread yourself, to easily repeat this activity after returning home. We knead the bread in the morning after breakfast or in the evening after dinner, because the bread has to rise (about 10 hours) to the oven for more than an hour.
We also invite you to do nothing. For admiring wild nature, evening sessions with your head in the stars, listening to the rain, observing our duck gang, cat stroking therapy (our two cats do not scratch and plead with guests), admiring the phenomenon of inversion (i.e. the sun and fog in the valley). We never have mosquitoes (seriously!), But there is always silence, darkness of the night and peace.
What’s there for children?
We have two forest children, a herd of ducks and two cats, so we don't know what boredom is. Ksawery and Rita will always find a stick to play with, a hill for sledging and stones to build fortifications, and if the wind blows off their heads and it pours rain, you can play board games. With us, the fun takes place offline, so if you do not force your children into nature, you choose your child instinctively, because you feel good here, then good. We have a large area around it and we have not fenced it off on purpose. However, it is safe, because wherever the eye can see, it will be deserted. There is a tipi made of willow twigs and a playground with a large sandbox and jumping stumps. You can run barefoot, you can swing in a hammock in the orchard, and when our kids create a pack, there is a chance to have fun together in the treehouse. In autumn we listen to deer singing, look for deer and wild boars in the morning fog, and spend our nights counting the stars. As a bonus, I can organize bread making and baking workshops for both large and small. Just let me know you want it.
If you feel comfortable with your bare feet in the stream and during wild rose expeditions, come to our house.
