Szałas on the trail is a place with a long history that will be appreciated by Tatra Mountain lovers who want to be as close to the Tatra Mountains as possible. No time wasted on commuting and looking for parking. No neighbors, but a safe distance from the main road. We dedicate them to mature people who are looking for rest, peace and closeness to nature. Currently, most of the equipment and furniture, and even elements such as stairs or windows, were made by members of our family or obtained by us from various places and renovated ourselves. 🛑 PLEASE ATTENTION #1🛑 We strongly advise against coming with the intention of partying and we strictly adhere to this. Check-in is possible from 16:00 to 20:00 after prior arrangement of the estimated arrival time. Sometimes we are able to arrange a much earlier check-in, if possible we will let you know. However, we do not accept check-ins late in the morning or at night. 🛑 PLEASE ATTENTION #2🛑 The house is always rented exclusively, but the total number of rooms and bathrooms available depends on the offer. For example, in our standard offer for two people, we provide access to the entire ground floor of the building, i.e. a large living room with a kitchen, coffee corner, fireplace, bathroom, toilet and the brightest room on the ground floor. You will find all the information in our short regulations. Also read at the end of the description about the access road to us and rare but possible difficulties in winter. We have a total of 12 beds in 5 rooms. You cook what and when you want. We will send you a list of noteworthy nearby inns. Many are within walking distance of 10 to 20 minutes. You can also order delivery right to your doorstep, specifically to the barrier to Dolina Lejowa, and run down the hill to pick it up. There is a fireplace with a grill and benches. We also have a portable table and two portable benches outside, so you can also eat breakfast wherever you want if the weather permits. : )

AN AREA FOR SMALL AND LARGE PEOPLE Your imagination can run wild. A huge clearing surrounded by forests. You will often encounter wild animals here, which you can observe from hiding. The nearest Lejowy stream is 150m lower, because who doesn't like building a dam and digging in the water with a stick. Or maybe feasting together by the bonfire? There are benches, a grill grate, and a fireplace in the legendary cast iron rim. In warm weather, we also set up a hammock and leave a few portable deckchairs. Outdoor games and fun? There is no shortage of cheap, portable sets for all kinds of outdoor games and activities in stores. What our place offers is, above all, a minimum of neighbors, space and proximity to mountain nature. It is also worth taking a blanket and walking 15 minutes to the beginning of the Chochołowska Valley. On the Chochołowski Potok you will find many beautiful and secluded places to soak up the spring sun. HIGH MOUNTAINS AND VALLEYS Not only for adults, because younger ones can be put in a cable car to Gubałówka or Kasprowy Wierch. Here, no one counts the days, because each subsequent adventure lasts and lasts, and there is never enough time. Straight from the doorstep you will go to the Lejowa, Chochołowska and Kościeliska Valleys, and then onto the trails into the real mountains. Mentally cleansing trips for whole days surrounded by fascinating nature regardless of the season. GEOTHERMAL POOLS The choice is not small, but you can reach the nearest and largest Termy Chochołowskie in Podhale in just a few minutes. We'll give you discount coupons. :) Among the typical outdoor swimming pools, it is also worth visiting the Geothermal Swimming Pool at Polana Szymoszkowa. You will appreciate the view of the mountains, especially in the summer sun. WINTER TIME We build igloos in the clearing, build snowmen, dig secret corridors when we are snowed in, and go sledding downhill. The nearest ski slope (routes for beginners and experienced skiers) and the rental place are a 10-minute walk from Szałas. You can also find other slopes and winter attractions within a few minutes' drive. We also give directions for a sleigh ride. ZAKOPANE AND KRUŁÓWKI Krupówki needs no introduction, although we do not recommend it during the season unless you need to shop, bookstores or upgrade your mountain equipment. Zakopane and the surrounding area offer a lot of various attractions, such as a dinosaur park or an ice maze in winter. You can google them all, so we won't go into detail. We rather focus on advising on how you can relax from the crowds and crowded attractions. These, however, are worth visiting like any other - out of season. CULTURE AND ART There are museums, galleries, monuments, and on August 15, on Siwa Polana (next to the entrance to the Chochołowska Valley), about 900 m from the hut, the Watra Tatrzańska Forest Festival takes place. It is an outdoor event, with competitions and tasting of local delicacies. During the day, there are competitions, e.g. finding the largest porcini mushroom, lumberjack competitions, carrying logs, etc. In the evening you can dance to highlander music. All this is only part of the possibilities of spending time here, because there are, for example, bikes for rent and detours along a beautiful scenic route towards Slovakia, and in winter it is worth going with cross-country skis on specially prepared, illuminated routes. Some people also organize cross-country ski trails around the clearing near Szałas. This is another way to stay active off the beaten path. There is a quad rental nearby, and in winter there are also dog sleds. These attractions are so close that there is practically no need to travel by car. You will also find many fantastic places on the Slovak side.
