With Białka Tatrzańska, every person is an opinion. And we do not judge, because for us it has been a family home for generations and we are not objective. We will tell you what is hidden in the history of this Podhale village. The beginnings of Białka date back to the reign of Władysław IV Vasa, that is, to remind you of the 17th century. The inhabitants of the village, these mythical oldest highlanders, dealt with farming and furriery, and their chalked, Białczańska sheepskin coats were known throughout the area. In the 19th century, Białka became popular with artists and many wooden buildings in the Witkiewicz style remained after this chapter in history. Enough of this romanticism, because now it's time to come back from the past. You know or can guess what it is like. Crowded in high season and during school holidays, quieter and more intimate in fall and spring. If you sign up for the slope in January, you will have to wait in line for the lift, and if you plan walks by the Białka River in November, it will be quiet and deserted.
And in the middle of it we, without colorful fairs, but with Three Sheep. Houses inspired by the classic brda, but in a modern edition. We swim against the current, and we hope, we set a new direction against the Tatra pastelosis, crowding and architectural debauchery. We want less, quieter, with more greenery and a view of the mountains. If you want to see what our Białka looks like, come, wait until the village is quiet in the evening, and open the windows. You will hear the deer coming out of the forest to the clearings, you will smell the mushrooms, and at dawn, during a walk with a view of the snow-capped peaks, you will understand what magic is all about.
In our Białczański hall you will meet Three Sheep: Wełenka, Śnieżynka and Czarnuszka. From the outside, they are identical to those of white sheep, but differ in characters. They are inspired by classic brdas, but in a new version. Each has a glass triangular wall, a mezzanine overlooking the greenery and a terrace where you can enjoy your coffee. They are arranged in such a way that no one looks through the windows, on a wooded plot, and right behind the houses, Podhale fields and forests begin, where most tourists are not on their way. There are other houses for rent in the very close vicinity (the plot has no fence). There are 12 apartments in front of us in the entire investment, which is relatively few. We live in harmony with our neighbors, and we have developed the area in a similar, natural style. We know that in a way we are in the lion's cave - the very center of the village, tourists in the season, slightly less between the seasons, but at the same time we have forest, meadows, pastures and walking paths. Our mission is to show residents and investors that you can do otherwise. Slower, less, nicer, quieter.
Our sheep will host four people, two on the sofa in the living room, two on the bed on the mezzanine. Watch out for the heads, because the bevels there are as sharp as at the top of Kryania. Each sheep has a spacious bathroom, a well-equipped kitchenette, ladder steps up, and a living area with a TV. There is also access to the Internet, Netflix and board games. The sheep are real cubs and have been grazing on the Białczańska meadow since August 2021.
At your disposal in the garden there is a wood-fired garden tub, a fireplace, hammocks, and sun loungers. It is close from here to the ski stations, thermal baths, and hiking trails.
Each house has a well-equipped kitchenette, and in the immediate vicinity, in Białka, there are many restaurants serving food for hip growth. One that replenishes all reserves and deficiencies in terms of calories. Of course, you can choose other items from the menu than sour soup with pork shank, moskole, cheese and ribs, you can cook your own food, eat at wooden tables in the garden, on the terrace of the house, and spend the evenings by the fire in the garden.

There is no point in pretending that with us it will crap, boo and the middle of the field. We consciously decided to build Sheep in Białka Tatrzańska, because it is our great-grandfather's house and we would like to slightly change the image of the tourist resort of the Tatra Mountains. In high season, i.e. during winter and summer holidays, it is worth being aware that there are queues. To pubs, lifts, traffic jams on the road. Believe that the upside down house is not the most beautiful part of Białka, and the thermal baths then have more people than water per square meter. If that doesn't bother you, drop by. If you are looking for peace, we invite you outside of the usual holiday dates.
Apart from the beaten track, we recommend the Białka River. Underestimated, forgotten and overlooked by tourists. And the more you avoid it, the more beautiful it is. If you want to relax with a book, just lie down in the hammock between the trees in the garden or sit on the terrace. However, the real treasure is right behind the sheep. Beautiful Podhale glades and forests, walking paths and the most important: peace and quiet, disturbed only by visiting deer, sheep and hares.
If you have never been to Białka Tatrzańska, it is worth knowing that it is a typical street house, a village with practically no sidewalks. If they are very narrow, it can be difficult to walk around the village, especially in the season when the traffic on the streets is like on Marszałkowska.
As for the trails, there are several of them:
- Red: Groń - Bukowina Tatrzańska (Klin) - Brzegi - Jurgów - Rzepiska - Czarna Góra - Bukowina Tatrzańska (Dolna)
- Blue: Białka Tatrzańska (church) - "Royal Route" - Groń (church) - Leśnica (Sądel estate) - Gliczarów Górny
- Yellow: Białka Tatrzańska (Litworowy Staw) - Jankulakowski Wierch "Droga Królewska" - Groń (Gile estate) - Leśnica (Gały estate)

If you want to relax in warmth, we recommend our garden tub. The hot tub is one for all Owieczek guests. The hot tub is intended for 6-7 adults, so you can integrate with other guests, but you can order the hot tub exclusively. In addition, in the garden we have hammocks, deckchairs, a swing (such a bird's nest), benches, tables and a place for a bonfire. The garden is 1050 m2 of unfenced forested space.
What’s there for children?
When our toddlers Lena and Olek (6 and 8 years old) come with us to Owiec (we live 500 meters from here in a straight line), we really feel like on vacation and we get closer to each other. Because kids don't sit in front of the TV, they don't think about cartoons and tablets, and instead we spend time together. We talk, bake sausages on the fire (on sticks, whoever falls first loses!) And we simply are. There aren't too many attractions for kids, apart from a slide and a swing, there are board games at the house, and in spring we want to make a mini climbing wall. We have noticed that guests who visit us with children appreciate the lack of crazy attractions and really spend time with their children, walking and talking together. If you miss toboggan runs, snow labyrinths and a string of slides in thermal baths, typical Białka attractions will not disappoint.
