If your daily prayers and mantras include the phrase "save us from overstimulating our everyday life", it is a sign that you need to pack a backpack, good shoes, a guitar and go to Molusiówka in the Beskid Żywiecki Mountains. You can also do it without a guitar and barefoot, but then what's the point of sitting by the fire and hiking in the mountains, of which we have plenty here? Just like the forest, streams and time, which flows much more pleasantly here than in the city. One could say - lazily. And lazing around is a state that we can masterfully celebrate here.
We invite you to our wooden house, which until recently was part of Mr. Serafin's farm. When guests are away, it is guarded by a resident family of dormouse and one owl. You can fit up to 11 people here and everyone will find a place just for themselves - by the fireplace, a sideboard with eggshells, on a hammock in the afternoon sun, by the fire and a tub with hot water that soothes the body after a whole day spent on a mountain trail or ski slope. Molusiówka is our happy home - take care of it and it will reward you in kind.
In our house hidden among the mountains and trees we have for you:
- three bedrooms upstairs (two with double beds and one with three single beds),
- a room with a fireplace and a sofa bed (cornea) for two people,
- a kitchen with a large table, a grandma's sideboard with a collection of shells, an old stove (which unfortunately only looks like it),
- a bathroom with a shower.
We have 7 beds in the bedrooms, an additional two on the sofa, and another two people can sleep on extra mattresses, so in total the cottage can sleep 11 people. If you want to come in a group of more than 9 people, let us know. We will prepare additional mattresses for them.
The tub with heated water has been hailed by our guests as the biggest attraction of the Settlement. You can dissolve all the stress you brought with you in it, feasting your eyes on the panorama of the mountains or the starry sky.
In one of the bedrooms there is a screen and a projector, and in all of them you can find a large collection of books, with a dominant note of Polish reportage - it is worth reading a few pages before going to bed. If you want to take care of each other's well-being, we recommend using the massage bed and the relaxing oils that are part of the house equipment. In front of the house we have a herb garden - mint, lemon balm, thyme, wormwood (be careful with the dosage) are at your disposal. And around the house you can pick strawberries, blackberries, paper apples and mushrooms, lime blossom and St. John's wort.
We warn delicate ears - ours creaks. There is wood everywhere, which has been working for a long time, so it sighs loudly. A family of dormice lives with us - they sometimes venture into the kitchen. In the cold months, mice escape the frost and there is a lot of forest game around the house. There is no annoying noise here... except for an owl that can give you goosebumps at night. We also have neighbors whom we like very much, so we do not agree to night parties outside (let them sleep). In winter, access can be difficult and a 4x4 drive is necessary, and chains will often be necessary.
In the neighboring meadow, where hairy cows graze, we have created a real mountain glamping, which we rent exclusively in the summer season. It consists of 4 tents for 10 people and together with the cottage provides 21 sleeping places. Thanks to this, Osada Molusiówka becomes the ideal place to organize intimate workshops, meetings, trainings or a small wedding, preceded by an outdoor wedding in the slow style. In addition to renting our place, we can also help with organizational matters. Due to good neighborly relations, we do not rent our Osada for loud parties.
You can feel free to bring your four-legged friend to us, but keep an eye on him. We are not fenced, so your pet can feel the call of adventure and disappear into the forest. If necessary, we have a fenced orchard that can serve as a huge dog run.
The Molusiówka hamlet has a dozen or so farms, creating a friendly and kind community. We try to preserve the stories of the former farmers (including Serafin and Wiktoria, who owned our place) from oblivion by collecting old photographs and recording the fascinating stories of these areas.
What do you want today? Scrambled eggs on chanterelles, or maybe pancakes with blackberries and black coffee! Prepare what you want and what your stomach rumbles about - nobody is imposing anything on you here.
Sometimes we can prepare wild garlic pesto, breads, tinctures, so let us know if you want to buy anything from us. For fresh bread, go to the village to the bakery (you can buy it even on Sundays), you can get country eggs from Mrs. Stasia, and the rest of your shopping can be done in the shops in Koszarawa, Przyborów, Jeleśnia, Żywiec and Sucha Beskidzka. We are located near the "Silesian Tastes" Culinary Trail, where restaurants serve traditional regional dishes, prepared according to old recipes - it's worth trying!
Remember that meals taste best in the open air, so decorate the table on the porch or light a fire and sit and eat as much as you want.
You are located at an altitude of about 700 meters above sea level. in the hamlet of Molusiówka, belonging to the village of Koszarawa Bystra and situated on the slopes of Jaworzyna, which is located in the Babia Góra massif. We have 14 farms in Molusiówka. Some of them belong to the descendants of the former owners, some have already had new owners. Everyone is very friendly and kind. We want our good neighborly relations not to suffer as a result of the guests' failure to comply with the rules of neighborly coexistence, such as the ban on organizing loud parties outside at night. But you can sit by a crackling fire, count the stars and play the guitar. In addition, we recommend a swing and a hammock that rock perfectly for afternoon naps. There is also a hot tub waiting for you, where you can soak all year round!
We hope you like walking and climbing, because you are in a place that is especially conducive to mountain tourism. Our favorite destination is the nearest peak Jaworzyna, which offers a beautiful view of Pilsko. Leaving the house, if you turn east, you will come along a path to a river with a footbridge and a mini-bathing beach, then along a path to an asphalt road, which leads to Klekociny Pass, Beskidek and Zawoja. If you go west, you will come to the hamlets of Kotrówka, Mrowcówka and Przyborów. In the south there is Jaworzyna and the hamlet Pod Jałowcem, and in the north Lachów Groń from which you can admire a beautiful view of Babia Góra. Going straight down to the north and passing the house of Mr. Wawrzek, you also come to the river. A place with a beautiful waterfall, above which there are rock shelves, which we call a natural jacuzzi - we recommend bathing there in hot months (in some places it is so deep that you can sit freely and cool down your hot body).
Our suggestions for slightly longer walking routes:
1. Zamolusie: this is the next hamlet that is easy to reach by heading east, that is, continue along the road you came on. After passing a few farms, the road ends, but do not be discouraged, you will definitely find a forest path that will lead you to Zamolus. Just don't go down too far, or go uphill, the path goes more or less all the time at the same height. It is also an alternative route to get to the church. Fun fact: Zamolusie is located in the neighboring commune - in Przyborów, which is a bit strange, because Przyborów is on the other side of the mountain.
2. Kotrówka: you have to go back a bit the way you came. After crossing the meadow called Dżystoniówka by the oldest highlanders (it's better not to know what it meant, for the curious: arguing or the effect of indigestion) we turn left to the forest path and keep going on the same level until we reach Kotrówka (on the left side ) and a bit further, following the stream, to Kalikówka, and even further to Mrowcówka. Lots of mushrooms in summer and autumn!
3. From Leonowa Chałupa in the "center" of Molusiówka, we walk sharply upwards, towards the south. On the left we pass a renovated house, and after a few bends we go out into the open space: it is Torgosowa Clearing. Going all the time south (uphill), looking for forest paths, you will take a shortcut to the top of Jaworzyna and maybe you will find a clearing where there is a beautiful hamlet called Pod Jałowiec, with one of the last huts covered with original wooden shingles.
Tourist route suggestions:
1. Molusiówka - Kotrówka - Cerliska - Jaworzyna - Pod Jałowiec - Molusiówka: 1.5 - 2 hours
2. Molusiówka - Jaworzyna through the hamlet of Pod Jałowiec - Polish-Slovak border (red trail) - Mędralowa - Klekociny Pass - Koszarawa Bystra - Zamolusie - Molusiówka: 3-4 hours.
3. Molusiówka - Koszarawa Bystra - Farm near Hala - Lachów Groń - Beskidek - Klekociny - Zamolusie - Molusiówka: 2.5 - 3 hours.
4. Molusiówka - Jaworzyna - Mędralowa - Babia Góra - Markowe Szczawiny - Mędralowa - Koszarawa Bystra - Molusiówka: 12-14 hours.
These are of course our suggestions - the routes are arranged in loops, they can be joined together by extending them. We recommend the Tourist Map application, where you can control your location, plan and save routes, search for tourist routes. It's worth taking your bike with you, we have very nice trails and bicycle routes. One of the most attractive cycling centers in the region is Zawoja and Babia Góra Trails (20 km of routes of various difficulty levels) and dual pumptrack (jumps and a training path for beginners). You can reach Zawoja by taking a shortcut through the Klekociny Pass, provided that you have a 4x4 car.
If you get bored with the neighborhood, it is worth going:
- to the Żywiec Brewery, the Brewery Museum, the Old Castle in Żywiec and the Żywiec Museum,
- to Golgotha Beskidów (Matyska hill) or Barania Góra,
- to Lake Żywieckie and Lake Międzybrodzkie,
- to the Zimnik Valley,
- over the Mosorczyk Waterfall,
- to the viewpoint on Skrzyczne,
- to the Żywiec Ethnographic Park,
- to see the spring and summer sheep grazing at Hala Baranek. And when we are with sheep, it is worth visiting us in May, because it is then (on the occasion of the redyk) that you can see the ritual of mixing sheep (forming from animals owned by many owners of one herd). This folklore event is always organized on Saturday and its aim is to promote sheep farming in the Żywiec region.
If you like adrenaline, we recommend you try your hand at paragliding - you can fly with a tandem pilot on Góra Żar. In winter, it is worth taking your skis and going to Korbielów, Szczyrk, Węgierska Górka or Mosorny Groń.
What’s there for children?
After a few weeks in Molusiówka, we can call our children "wild". In fine weather, we lose sight of them, because the benefits of the surrounding area allow them to look after themselves. From morning to evening they run through meadows and forests, soak in a stream or tub, build secret bases, shelters and shelters, which adults are not allowed to enter. We take them on trails and walks around the area, during which they take photos, learn herbs and weave wreaths.
On rainy days, kids will have games, books and a projector to display fairy tales. Our wifi is so-so, so don't worry that your kids will spend their holidays on their noses on their phones. They are not in danger here.
In winter, you can take advantage of the ski slopes and du ... flights, which are waiting for you in front of the house, take good gloves and appropriate shoes, because the amount of snow in the mountains allows for hours of snowball fights, building an igloo and organizing a competition for the biggest snowman.
