Where it was, there it was, in the time when mountains were wrinkled and volcanoes spewed lava, Štiavnické vrchy were born. This Štiavnický old volcano decided to share with people a huge amount of hidden minerals and rare precious ores. And although the era of gold and silver in these mountains has already ended, there is still much to discover. For example, such miner's cottages.
Here above Štiavnica, where the hills are pierced by tunnels, where the tajs are cleverly connected to each other, also stands our hill, our Heaven. Because it is high and from there you can at least see the wide world far away. The heritage that found us has priority here, and peace and nature walk hand in hand with it. Here, 4 mining cottages look out at the world through their colorful shutters and will gladly tell you their 200-300-year-old stories. We dressed them with love and with the help of wise masters in new clothes, with deep respect for their age and lived experiences.
Without further ado, we'll just say that they have that "something" in them that stole our hearts and gradually changed our lives by 180 degrees. Don't delay, come to our colorful Heaven and feel the atmosphere yourself :)
We have 4 cottages. We will present them to you in the order in which we (and they) took us to the show. The oldest is Blue. It was followed by Green and Orange, but our "Benjamin" is White.
BLUE COTTAGE
That was our first "love" and challenge. It all started from her. We estimate that it has already experienced a good 300 years. You can fit 10 people here. In the cottage you will find a living room, a kitchen and 3 bedrooms.
1st bedroom - on the ground floor behind the kitchen, with a double bed (2 persons)
2nd bedroom - on the first floor - with 5 single beds, a hammock and a fireplace in which you can warm up (5 persons)
3rd bedroom - upstairs - with 1 double bed and 1 single bed (3 persons)
In addition, to make your heaven perfect, here you will find a covered terrace and a large garden with equipment for grilling and roasting, a kettle for stew and for sweet relaxation 2 saunas (Finnish and infrared) and a wooden tub under the open sky for 6 people.
In this cottage you will also have a washing machine, a dryer and an iron at your disposal.
WARNING! Take into account that the house has preserved its original elements - the stairs may be steep and narrow for you, as well as the door frames, and when you are tall, bend down properly so that you don't get a bump on your head.
GREEN COTTAGE
She is our youngest. A maximum of 4 people here. The view of the city and the surrounding area will take your breath away (as in Heaven), and even here you won't feel as if you are far from nature. It's right there, at your fingertips. Since our Zelena is small, we tried to furnish it cozy, so that it is ideal for couples or families. The interior of the cottage is like a mezzanine - the bedroom is on the first floor (double bed - 2 persons, 2x single bed) and is not separated by walls from the events on the ground floor. The highlight, however, in our opinion, is the terrace. When you sit here, 99% of the time you won't need to go anywhere.
This cottage includes a bathtub for 4 people :)
The green cottage is located approx. 100 m from Modra. For the purposes of a larger group, it is possible to combine the stay in the Blue and Green cottages. The capacity is 4+10 people.
ORANGE COTTAGE
Our third cottage is surrounded on one side by a rock and on the other by a garden and forest. It will welcome you with its atmosphere of a typical Štiavnica interior, but it didn't hold back on practicality for everyday life either. Those hand-renovated pieces will enchant you ;)
Of course, there is a kitchen with a tiled stove with modern use, a living room, and count on 2 terraces and a grill here as well. One terrace is sunny and on the other you can hide in the shade of a walnut tree. And since basking is always worthwhile - here you will also have a Finnish sauna at your disposal.
It accommodates 6-8 people.
You will sleep in 2 bedrooms: 1 bedroom with a double bed (2 persons) on the ground floor and a 2nd bedroom with 4 mattresses (2+2 persons) on the first floor. Extra beds have their place on the ground floor. You will also have a washing machine and an iron at your disposal in the cottage.
WHITE COTTAGE
We also lovingly call this our youngest "cottage in the rock". What would it be like if we didn't mess around with our cottages. And it was no different here either. And so we connected the interior with the exterior, and you can also enjoy the rock behind the cottage yourself. We have also prepared a seat for you here. The minimalist open space is completed by a relaxing gallery on the first floor. Here on the floor you will also find a bedroom and a bathroom. Downstairs there is a kitchen, two separate toilets, a fireplace and a coffee machine must not be missing ;) To all this, let's add a terrace with a grill and a bathtub.
You can accommodate 4-6 people here.
You can safely use the Biela space for all kinds of yoga and creative workshops or brainstorming. The powerful energy here is guaranteed to recharge you.
In each of our cottages you will find a kitchen and of course all the important things you might need. Include staple foods here too so you don't have to think about them.
We also lovingly provided you with a good coffee machine and fragrant coffee. And, of course, you take good company with you in which to enjoy a cup of coffee or good food :)
Otherwise - we have two farms in the neighborhood, so you can order fresh homemade cheeses or milk. We will direct you to Mr. Ľuboš for honey and for other purchases to the packaging-free store - Štiavnicka spajza.
The hill, on which our cottages have stood for several centuries, did not get its name by chance. After all, you yourself will understand right away. You have to step up here first, but the view is "priceless".
Each of the cottages has its own terrace, each is connected to nature as if it grew out of it - simply, you don't have to go anywhere. Here, your time will pass differently, more sweetly, and maybe just sitting and soaking up the atmosphere will be enough for you. Because that's what slow travel is about :)
But if that wasn't enough, then...
Our cottages are an excellent starting point for hikes in the surrounding area (Počúvadlo, Sitno, Evičkina lake, Vindšachta tajch, Mining museum in nature,...).
But you can also choose from us for skiing, because you can see the top of the Salamandra slope right opposite - approx. 5 min. by car. And if you love skiing so much, don't begrudge cross-country skiing either. Our enthusiasts take care of the routes here in the winter.
When the ground is not covered by a blanket of snow, feel free to get on your bike - cycling routes lead you along the surrounding hills or they will direct you to the nearby taiches.
However, you can also reach them on foot. That's when you're closest to the Evička, Windšachta, Pócúvadlo, Klinger...
And as usual, our cottages won't even deprive you of the opportunity to be in the city almost within walking distance (5 km, approx. 8 minutes by car).
We could write a lot about where you could go, what to see, smell and taste - after all, Banská Štiavnica and Štiavnické vrchy are really like discovering a treasure bit by bit.
Therefore, feel free to ask us, we will be happy to share our tips and favorite places with you and guide you well.
For all our guests, we have something to please them. Even for the little ones.
And as we gradually got used to our cottages and guests, we created a space for children to explore, experience and their own original creativity.
A real workshop, workshops, research expeditions, sports activities - all this is waiting for your children here in Heaven.
Every such possibility was also created thanks to cooperation with our local partners. These services are free for our staying guests or for a voluntary contribution for these rare and clever people.
