Let us establish one thing - Samotnia is not a hotel, it lacks comfort, fluffy carpets and ... range. You won't work remotely from here, and sometimes you won't even talk on the phone (grabs the Slovak network). We just praise it, because a few minutes after arriving, we throw phones in the corner and switch to offline mode. The house is for six people and completely unsuitable for small children - we have high stairs and an unsecured fireplace. Therefore, we invite you with older children (over 12 years of age). On the ground floor of the house there is a very large living room with sofas and a fireplace, dining area, bathroom with shower, kitchen and access to the (closed) cellar. chest of drawers and stairs to the basement. The floor at the bottom of the house is made of stone - take slippers or very thick socks with you. On the first floor there are two bedrooms, one with three single beds (they can be joined together) and the other with two beds and a fold-out sofa, which we take as an extra bed. We honestly say that we are at the most beautiful, but still the end of the world. The water is supplied from a mountain stream and heated in a boiler. After two showers, it has to warm up again - and you have to wait. We recommend making a queue list and in the meantime, warm yourself by the fireplace. Strong storms can cut electricity, so be prepared to use flashlights. In autumn, instead of the radio, we listen to deer rutting, which is carried for kilometers through the surrounding forests and hills, and let us cut our hand that a bear once walked in the area (due to the forest zoo, do not take your dogs with you). In the cold months, they find a shelter for marten and mice under our roof - we have come to terms with it and share the warmth of our home with them. Also remember that getting home is difficult, there is a bit of a paved road, then a forest offroad - you won't be able to get here with a car with low suspension or without a 4x4 drive. It is possible to park in the parking lot under the mountain, from where we will take you home.

Regardless of the season, there is something to do in the Beskids. Due to the lack of a TV set, we recommend having a "star screening" in front of the house - put blankets or sit on the benches and watch the Milky Way, the Big Dipper and falling stars. We have a beautiful, dark sky where the constellations can be seen beautifully. In winter, in addition to walking around the area, organizing sledging, sleigh rides, admiring snowy landscapes, you can go skiing (both cross-country skiing and skiing). We recommend downhill runs in Rajcza, Zwardoń, Korbielów or in nearby Slovakia. At the turn of January and February, annual ski competitions - the traditional Peasant Rally - are organized in Rajcza. This event, in addition to sports struggles, allows you to present the culture and folklore of the Polish and Slovak Beskids. In warm months, be sure to go on mountain trails or bike paths. It is worth scratching to one of the shelters: Przegibek, Wielka Racza, Oźna or Nickulina (don't forget the stamp for the mountaineer's book!). The surroundings of Żywiecki Landscape Park and Śrubita Reserve will appeal to even picky travelers. The heat will allow you to survive the water in the cool and clean rivers in Rycerka. In July, Rajcza hosts a royal and beekeeping picnic, in August, the Open Mountain Bike Cross and Days of Rajczy take place. In addition, it is worth seeing what the Milówka and Węgierska Górka Days celebrations look like. Be sure to go to Żywiec Beskids Culture Week and Huda Wawrzyniecowe, a folklore event in Ujsoły. Early music enthusiasts should visit the Early Music Days in Żywiec Castle and music concerts organized in the summer season in the restaurant of Żywiec Brewery. If you want to go abroad, there is a Tourist Border Crossing in Rycerka. You can eat Slovak dumplings and return to Samotnia for dinner. If you don't think about Slovakia, then go to Żywiec (with a beautiful park, castle and historic brewery), to Zwardoń (the brilliant Zwardoń-Ski ski slope) or to Geo Park in Glinka.
