"I don't have to do anything, but I can do everything," says our neighbor, sitting down on his terrace. To fully relax, it is enough for him to know that an adventure begins behind the bend. You can go a step further and fall into the embrace of the Bieszczady Mountains - sunbathe in Połoniny, ride on forest paths, race on bicycles, visit forgotten Orthodox churches. Two days after your arrival, the inner tension will disappear, the compulsion to be everywhere, and then regeneration begins - you sleep as much as you want, sit on the terrace, drink coffee, read books and go in search of blueberries. You will forget about civilization here. Because that's what rest is all about?
We have built an unusual house in the Cisniańsko-Wetliński Landscape Park. It has huge windows that connect us with nature and a black shape to better meet the conditions of the "Dark Sky" program. Here, two worlds merge - the comfortable and modern one with the forgotten, Boyko-Lemko one, after which only old pear trees and apple trees are left. Come to turn off the daily nerve and take a deep breath of the air flowing from the mountains.
Our year-round, comfortable and spacious house will comfortably accommodate up to 6 people. The house has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms
You will find here:
- a bedroom for 3 people (1x double bed and 1x single bed)
- a bedroom for 3 people (2x single bed (which can be joined together) and 1x fold-out armchair,
- a living room with a large sofa and a fireplace,
- kitchenette,
- two bathrooms,
- terrace.
You can work safely with us - there is satellite internet. But maybe it's worth leaving all electronic devices in the trunk and hitting the trails or sitting on the terrace and looking at the black sky full of stars?
We invite you without pets.
The kitchen and dining room have all the conditions for comfortable cooking and serving meals. Here you will find everything you need to prepare breakfast, in advance and any meals you want. The open space is conducive to cooking, talking and feasting together.
You should think about shopping in advance and do it by driving to us or by jumping out by car (the nearest shop is 6 km away). Below are our restaurant suggestions (we've tried all of them!).
Remember that you don't have to do anything here, and you can do everything! Such thinking will allow you to slow down and rest. The first days after your arrival, catch up with sleeping, then make a coffee and sit comfortably on the terrace with it. Only when the stillness starts to bother you should you go on adventures!
In Bieszczady, it is worth going along the Main Bieszczady Trail (not bypassing Połonina Wetlińska or Caryńska) or the Blue Border Trail and visiting the shelter under Mała Rawka (for pancakes with strawberries!). You can go ahead and take your bikes, because Roztoki Polana is a great starting point for mountain and road bikers. Enthusiastic riders can overcome beautiful horse trails on horseback. For sportsmen it is necessary: Butcher's Run Festival Butcher's Run (the route runs near our house) and the Winter Bieszczady Marathon. From the very house you can go skiing, and in Wetlina there are cross-country skiing trails.
We absolutely recommend the astronomical shows in the Starry Sky Park and beautiful festivals: Inspired by Bieszczady, the Festival in Cisna and the ZEW Awakens Festival.
Roztoki Górne is a village historically inhabited by Bojków and Lemkos. Unfortunately, now only old apple trees and pear trees growing near the house are left. If you are interested in the history of these lands - check out our library. You will find a lot of photo albums and guides in it. We recommend you follow the trail of former inhabitants, visit places where there used to be colorful villages and old churches.
What’s there for children?
Big children will probably follow their parents on mountain trails. The smaller ones can get their feet wet and build dams of stones in the Roztoczka stream. A great idea for the mornings are walks in the meadows, picking wildflowers, learning the names of plants, weaving wreaths and collecting herbs. Some hunt for ants, others catch grasshoppers, and some hunt for blueberries - there's something for every kid here.
Active kids can practice their balance on the slackline stretched between the trees, zipline or kick a ball. On vacation, the attraction is also roasting sausages over a fire, looking for birds and animals through binoculars and observing the night sky - it is worth downloading an application with the names of the constellations. At home we have board games and chess to help with a sudden bout of boredom.
In the warm months, we take towels and sand shovels and go to Lake Solińskie or Myczkowieckie or to the Osława River to Mików. If you don't like sitting still, go to Muczne, where there is a demonstration bison farm, or to the village zoo in Berezka, where you can feed the animals. In Bezmiechowa Górna, it is worth watching gliders, in Sanok, it is worth visiting the open-air museum and taking a walk through the Sine Wiry reserve (you can even take a stroller). A ride on the Bieszczady Forest Railway is a must.
