We throw the groundbait and hope that you will be persuaded to visit the Lublin region. We have several solid arguments in favor of this corner of Poland. Firstly, silence and space, secondly, the Poleski National Park, third and fourth, Uherka rustling in the vicinity, and the Green Velo trail at the steering wheel's reach, sixth fish. Carp and trout. Fried, smoked, baked, in soup, in a baguette, and in joints. We know fish like no other, we are just getting our PhD in leisure. For 25 years we have been running a family fishing farm and a restaurant full of fish, and we have an eye on 10 hectares of ponds. This year, we have moved, renovated and decorated for you Great-Grandfather Michał's Hut. The hut has been given new clothes after more than 100 years and now it can serve as a place of rest and relaxation after another portion of trout in tomatoes and white wine.
We divided the cabin into four apartments and put it in a quiet part of our hectares. A few steps from the restaurant, but behind a wall of willows. The distance will allow you to rest quietly, but on the other hand, it will not let you get hungry. Come with your kids, friends and dogs. For a deckchair, for a bike, for star gazing, for fishing. So what, did you take the hook?
1. In Michał's great-grandfather's cottage, which is over 100 years old. We moved it here, to our meadow, right by the river and ponds, in the vicinity of the fish restaurant we have been running for 25 years. Due to the fact that we have a huge area, guests of Chatka Pradziadka do not feel the presence of restaurant guests at all. The cottage is hidden behind trees, wicker fences and behind water. In Chatka we have 4 apartments, the largest for 6 people, two smaller ones for 4, although if you want to come as a couple, you will of course be just as comfortable here.
- Two 30 m2 apartments for up to 4 people - with access to the terrace.
- Two 40 m2 apartments for up to 6 people - with balconies.
The smaller apartments are located on the ground floor, the larger ones are on the first floor with an additional mezzanine. The larger apartments have two bedrooms plus a sofa bed in the living room. The junior suites have one bedroom plus a sofa bed in the living room.
The apartments have bathrooms with showers, there are no kitchenettes, only fridges, dishes and cutlery.
There is no kitchen in the apartments, only refrigerators, dishes, cutlery and glasses. Let us invite you to our restaurant Pstrągowo, which is a few steps from the house. A few steps, but behind a wall of willows, so the distance from restaurant guests is safe and allows you to rest in peace, but on the other hand, it will not let you get hungry. Of course, if you are a fan of fish, a feast for the palate awaits you every day. Master fried trout, grilled trout with fresh herbs, trout in mustard sauce, fish soup, baked halibut, fried carp. Everything fresh and prima sort.
We have been running the restaurant for over 25 years. Our short card is based mainly on fish from our farm. We try to use the best local products. We serve beer from the family-owned Jagiełło brewery, only 2 kilometers away from us.
We invite you for both breakfasts and dinners.
The Lublin region is a region worth getting to know better, because it has a lot to offer. Natural, historical, cultural and, above all, unhurriedly. Our greatest advantage is therefore the location. The cottage is located a few kilometers from Chełm, on the Uherka River, surrounded by ponds and meadows. You can reach the guarded beach with a water park on the Żółtańce Reservoir in just a 10-minute walk through the meadows or by bike along the bicycle path by the river. Not just any path, because it is the green velo route (the longest bicycle route in this part of Europe), which runs directly over our bridge. You can also stay still and lie on a deckchair by our ponds or cast a fishing rod. In Pstrągów we have a carp fishery in the no kill system. If you do not intend to fish, you can simply feed our carps, which are practically eaten by hand.
It's right under your nose, but a bit further away is just as interesting. Here are some of our suggestions:
- Chełm Chalk Underground - the labyrinth stretching near Chełm's Old Town is a remnant of the mining of rich chalk deposits. Visiting the 2 km tourist route is also unique because of the opportunity to meet the spirit of Bieluch - who is the guardian and symbol of our underground. Note - dress warmly, because it is cold in the basement, the constant temperature is around 9 degrees Celsius.
- Poleski National Park - be sure to go to the Polish National Park, where you can meet 200 species of birds, 48 species of mammals and 20 species of reptiles and amphibians. Including cranes, which are the symbol of the Park, great crested grebes, aquatic warblers, greylag goose, gray herons and cormorants, and a specimen rare in Poland, i.e. the pond turtle. In the Park, we recommend going to:
- The Czahara nature trail, the only one of its kind in the Bubnów Marsh area. You will walk on specially built wooden footbridges rising above the area of the low peat bog. You can also climb the viewing platforms, spot a very rare Aquatic Warbler or flocks of cranes gathering in the swamps before departure.
- Spława nature trail leading through a horsetail forest via footbridges. A wooden road will lead you to Lake Łukie. You can even rest on the pier on the lake. Then the road runs the so-called a dyke of the courtyard through a marshy alder forest, particularly picturesque in early spring. The route starts in Załucze Stary near the Poleski National Park Museum, which is also worth visiting.
- The European pond turtle protection center in Urszulin - this is a unique place where, in addition to caring for the place of turtles' residence, research and observation of breeding grounds and egg-laying turtles are carried out. The laid eggs, from which the turtles will not hatch before winter, are transferred to the Pond Turtle Conservation Center. Therefore, it is best to visit the center from the end of September to May, when the largest number of turtles is there. Usually, a few turtle families also stay on vacation, so that tourists can see the turtles for which Poleski National Park is famous.
We also have pond turtles that bask in our pier on sunny days.
What’s there for children?
We have two sons ourselves and when we travel, we always look for places where our children will have something to do. That is why you will find here a lot of attractions for kids. We have a fenced playground for children with only one entrance. For those who are a bit older, there is a rope descent. You can play mini golf together. We have a really relaxed atmosphere. In addition, our restaurant is located right next to the playground, so while the children are playing, you can eat and relax by the water during this time. You can jump to the Uherka River, put blankets on the beach by the lake in Żółtaniec, and when the weather is under your dog, dispel the black clouds of boredom in the Chełm Water Park.
What’s there for employees?
The restaurant is open not only to guests renting apartments, so the hosts cannot ensure silence there, if it doesn't bother you - you can work in the restaurant all day long. Each apartment has a comfortable sofa and a table with two chairs. Additionally, there are comfortable chairs on the balconies, so working with a view of the lake will definitely go faster.
