Pottermaniacy certainly know what a Pensieve is, and we are already explaining to Muggles. It is a magic bowl for viewing memories, organizing and exploring your thoughts and ideas. Our Myśloodsiewnia is not located in Hogwarts, but in the small Masurian village of Romany. But there are similar magical powers hidden in it. We invite you to a house that allows you to create new pleasant memories, organize your thoughts and, as a bonus, it has a kilometer to the lake. Across the dirt road, passing the herd of cows, through the forest. As befits the countryside, at night you can be awakened by the sounds of nature: owls, cows, roaring deer or hopping hares, which sometimes manage to get to the plot. It is also worth adding that the Pensieve behaves like a typical wooden house: sometimes it creaks, groans, in a word, he likes to talk. So how are you joining the dialogue?
We welcome you to the Pensieve and we hope you will love this place as much as we do. We have planned 6 beds for you, so you can already form a recreational team.
Make yourself comfortable in the house with a kitchen, a living room with a fireplace and a sofa bed, a bathroom with a shower and two bedrooms upstairs. The main one with a double bed and the smaller one with two separate beds.
One of the single beds can be folded out, creating a double bed, making this room suitable for 3 people. There are mosquito nets in the bedroom windows, so air as much as you need, no bugs will come to you (at least not this way). At the top, on the shelves, you will also find a lot of books on various topics and board games for evenings by the fireplace.
All things in the house are at your disposal. Do not be afraid to rummage in cabinets and drawers, you will surely find everything you need there. There is even a first aid kit, dishwasher, washing machine, powders, and a clothes dryer.
Please: The towels that are waiting at the cottage are home towels and please do not take them with you to the lake.
We are talking about the inconveniences directly: first of all (as it happens in Masuria) mosquitoes. We advise you to stock up on something against these insects, because although we have been trying to be friends with them for a long time, it is a very itchy friendship.
Where will the dogs sleep?
At home, of course. If you've read a bit about us, you know that we are doggy. However, please take care of your dog responsibly. The plot is fenced but remember to keep an eye on your pets.
We also have a request that dogs should not go upstairs. There is a gate on the stairs, so after closing it, the dog can sleep on the ground floor. This is not our "whim", we checked tangibly (or rather our dog Charlie tested it) that the wood on the stairs and on the first floor is so delicate that dog's claws can quickly destroy it, and we would not want it.
Each guest brings their preferences and habits to the Pensieve, and the kitchen in the cottage will do its best. There is everything you need to prepare meals. Kitchen utensils are in the cupboards in the kitchen, but also check the sideboard, there are glasses, mugs and glasses for more high-end drinks. Everything you can find in the cupboards, any tea, coffee, spices or dishwasher tablets are at your disposal.
When it comes to garbage: we segregate. In the cottage you will find baskets with special colored bags: green for glass, yellow for plastic and metal. We throw the paper into the basket by the fireplace, it can always be useful for lighting a goat or a fire. Another basket is in the cupboard under the sink, there we throw mixed waste.
Take a look underneath at the addresses of nearby pubs and shops.
Let's start from our own backyard, because here you can really sift your thoughts, and if you've never heard of the Pensieve, you can also make up four Harry Potter parts to finally explore the secret of this magical tool in the Goblet of Fire. If you know every corner at Hogwarts, you can grab a book from a shelf in the cottage and enjoy reading in a hammock, on a blanket or on a swing.
The terrace is a place to celebrate every meal, every drink. This is where the drama of scrabble losers and the triumph of macao winners take place.
As soon as the temperature does not cause frostbite, the day can end with a fire. In the shed you will find all the utensils needed for a feast by the fire. Grate, cauldron, sausage sticks. There is a magic gate in the corner of the garden. It allows you to get to the second plot (1045 m2), which belongs to the Pensieve. There you can eat apples straight from the tree (if the season permits it), lie down on a blanket, deckchair, organize a picnic or play football. In a word, do what you want.
If the thought of lying belly up makes you shudder, there is a lawn mower in the shed. Maybe there will be some passionate lawn mower.
There is more going on outside the gate, because we have plenty of lakes to choose from. So if water is your element, we recommend taking a walk to the Romanek Lake. It is just over 1 kilometer from the cottage. There are no crowds, it is intimate and cute. Make sure you bring your clothes, you can swim in it.
A bit further, 11 km from the cottage, there is Łęsk Lake, with the Kulka diving base next to it.
You can also drive to Lake Sasek Wielki (8.5 km), Lake Wałpusz (8.5 km) and any other that you can find on the map.
We recommend cycling enthusiasts to go "by bike". One by one, but not in a specific order, and by a bicycle path formed on the former railway track. The route has no ruts and is well prepared. The entrance is located nearby, in Szczytno at ul. Ostrołęcka. The road runs through forests and meadows and its total length is 8 km. Moreover, in these regions, which way you do not go by bike, it is beautiful. Take a backpack, choose the best path and enjoy the charm of Masuria.
You can change the saddle for a saddle 9 km from the cottage in Patataj. Agritourism - Horse stud. You can arrange a horse trip around the beautiful surroundings there.
We also recommend visiting Szczytno and spending some time there. You have only 3 km to it and it's worth it. You can walk along the lake, cross the pier or hit the market square. Keep your eyes and ears open, because Pofajdoki, the local gnomes, are prowling the city. One rides a pig by Domowym Mały Lake, another climbs the wall of a bank in the city center, and the others occupy a bench in Juranda Square. Walking along their trail, you will learn about the history and monuments of Szczytno.
If you still have little information about the region, check out the Masurian Museum or the ruins of the Teutonic Castle.
What’s there for children?
We don't have crazy attractions for children, and what for. There is a lake within walking distance, there is a beach, a forest, cows in the pasture, a rocking hammock and an evening focus. If you feel that this is enough for your children, it will not be boring.
