Want to know what's in the kumka grass? Then come to Żabi's Nook, because we have the whole yard, the whole pond, the whole neighborhood. There are thickets on the Narew river and rushes during canoeing, not the forest kumka, because birds rule there. But mushrooms are everywhere you look. If you are looking for a substitute for a springboard from concrete, come to Nowy Lubiel.
We have a wooden house here, which was restored in 1980, and its history dates back to the times when it was part of the holiday resort of Warszawskie Przedsiębiorstwo Budownictwa Przemysłowego "Kablobeton". There was a bar and a canteen here, it was a meeting place. After years of listening to bar stories, the house has retired and now serves you - leisurely travelers, hot tub enthusiasts, fans of warming feet by the fireplace, enthusiasts of naps in a hammock, enthusiasts of bonfires. Here you can drink orangeade with a cap produced by our parents, wave the fence to other holidaymakers, take the ferry to the other side of the river, take the kids on kayaks. Come to the Biała Forest, where everything is lush green.
In a wooden house, which was restored in 1980, and its history dates back to the times when it was part of the recreation center of the Warsaw Industrial Construction Company "Kablobeton". This is where the life of vacationers was throbbing, where they ate and dined when the house was a pub, and now, years later, it serves travelers again as a hollow on the Narew River. The cottage by the pond smells of wood, envelops you with the warmth of the fireplace and is a brilliant place for alternative trips with a group of 8 people.
On the ground floor there is a kitchen, a large living room with a fireplace, a separate bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom with a shower.
On the first floor there is an open space, divided into two parts: a living room with a small bookcase, a children's corner with a large mattress and toys, and a bedroom with a double bed.
Outside there is a terrace, a hot tub and hammocks. From each of these points you can admire the pond and our roommates, i.e. frogs. In the garden there is also a place for a bonfire and a mini seasonal garden with strawberries, arugula, radishes, parsley, etc. You can help yourself.
Of course, the water in our hot tub is always replaced and freshly poured before your arrival.
We don't have WiFi in the house, we focus on a complete reset!
We guarantee you will not be bored!
As a welcome you will receive a basket with goodness from us. It will include seasonal products - jams, sometimes eggs, vegetables, fruit, honey, and there will certainly be orangeades, cider in summer and mulled wine in winter. The drinks are of local production - our parents create them.
Welcome to the Narew, one of the longest rivers in Poland, which has a very strong current at our altitude. Therefore, swimming may be a problem, right next to the house, but on the other hand, you can kayak almost without paddling, with the current. The best advertisement for our town was made by Wiktor Bartniczak, a water guard supervising a certain section of the Narew. "A village with a beautiful name Lubiel, On the blue Narew River, Where stones play in the water, And nightingales sing in the bushes."
You may ask "What to do in Nowy Lubiel, after we have rested by the fireplace, after we have slept in a hammock, after we have drunk bubbles in a tub, after we have talked the night away by the fire and counted all the frogs in the pond?" And we will answer:
- You can visit the historic Church of St. Anne (1.5 km from Żabie), which is an important element of the Mazovian wooden sacral architecture. One of the five preserved transept churches in Mazovia. Inside, your eyes will be drawn to the 18th-century paintings of saints, a baptismal font and a Rococo organ casing, transferred from an earlier, burnt-down temple.
- And when you are near the church, you will also find a salt graduation tower there.
- Rent kayaks in the nearby town of Rogóźno (5 km from Żabie) and set off along the Narew. You can choose from several routes:
Ostrykół Dworski - Rogóźno - duration: 2 hours - route length: 10 km
Szarłat - Rogóźno - duration: 3 hours - route length: 13 km
Dzbądzek - Rogóźno - duration: 4-5 hours - route length: 16 km
Różan - Rogóźno - duration: 7 hours - route length: 23 km
It is worth considering that at the height of Nowy Lubiel the river has the strongest current on the entire waterway. For the next 5 kilometers you also have to watch out for stones.
- Go for a walk or drive to the old Narew riverbed, also to the town of Rogóźno (distance from our place - approx. 5 km),
- Take the Lubiel ferry to Nowe Łachy. It is a pleasant tourist attraction, just like the ferry helmsman is pleasant, with beautiful views. The ferry only operates in the summer season and only on weekends, and the timetable or tides are written on a piece of paper by the shore. We recommend. - CLOSED DUE TO BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
- Go to the abandoned German cemetery in Wincentowo (distance from our place - 8.5 km).
- in Długosiodło there is an outdoor swimming pool open all summer, and next to it - a beach volleyball court and a tennis court. (15 km from our place).
- Visit Pułtusk, a town with the longest cobbled market square in Europe, as well as a beautiful castle located on the Narew River (distance from our place - 30 km).
We invite passionate cyclists to join us!
Mountain bikers in Rząśnik you will find Singletrack Bagno Pulwy (13 km from Żabie), but don't let the name fool you, you won't be wallowing in mud. The name only refers to the nearby swamp. An 8.7 km route awaits you. The path is twisted and offers a lot of gently contoured bends, there are several wooden footbridges, a downhill line on which the so-called "rock garden" has been created, several thresholds and a ride on arranged wooden logs. And closer to the center of the town you will find the Pumptrack.
What’s there for children?
We invite families with children, one thing is certain - the youngest will not be bored!
You can run barefoot on the grass, eat breakfast on the terrace, persuade your parents from dawn to go to the river.
Evenings are filled with cooking food by the fire, board games, reading books, bathing in logs and counting the stars in the sky.
For children, we have prepared a corner, as well as a playground with a house, a sandbox, a slide and a football goal. There are hammocks in the garden and a swing on the terrace for swinging.
Your kids will find toys, coloring books, markers, crayons, or karaoke (in this case it's also great fun for adults).
In the summer you can go kayaking with your kids, organize a picnic for them in the meadow, take a ferry to the other side of the river, and in our garden you can count the frogs in the pond. Autumn - a great time for walks in the woods and picking mushrooms. In winter, however, walks, observation of ice floes flowing on the river and fun with sleds.
Our neighborhood is a great opportunity to take the kids and familiarize them with nature. We have a friendly naturalist who can show you around our region. The tours have a natural profile, with the addition of curiosities and history.
