Do you like simple stories? So we invite you. On a plot of land in the Podkarpacie region, we have built a cottage with a view of absolutely nothing. There are only patches of grass around, an orchard, hills in the distance. In front of the cabin there is a sauna, sun loungers, a sitting area perfect for morning coffee. And that's it. We do not know if Julia Roberts has heard about Kalwaria Pacławska, but if they were shooting the next part of "Eat, pray and love", you can stay with us. Because in Jabłoniowa Chatka we focus on what is essential in life. And you only have to cook it yourself, because we are not around, it is only you and nature.
We have created this place for ourselves as a springboard from city life. This story is also simple and not particularly original. But when something is good, you don't have to be magic. The house was built for us by highlanders, and we obtained wood for its construction from old huts. We want to share it with people who, like us, will appreciate the peace and quiet of this area. So enjoy simplicity, in a place where you can hear the growing grass and life moves in the rhythm of nature. We will take care of you and make sure that you do not miss anything.
Our house in a remote area, in a picturesque area, is waiting for you. The cottage is 70 m² in size and can accommodate up to 6 people. At the top we have two 2-person bedrooms, so if a group of 6 arrives, the two lucky ones sleep downstairs on a fold-out sofa.
Downstairs there is a lounge with a TV ready for lazy Netflix evenings. The kitchenette is connected with the dining space, where you can eat in peace.
You will achieve complete relaxation in the garden. There you will find a sauna, a deck with sun loungers on which you should look into the distance or read a book, there is also a shed with garden furniture where you can take your meals unhurriedly.
You cook by yourself, because the house is at your sole disposal. In the kitchen you will find everything you need to cook what you like. For summer evenings, we recommend a barbecue, which you can use in the garden. Unfortunately we do not have a dishwasher. Please take into account that the nearest shop is 4.5 km from us, so it's a good idea to do some shopping before your arrival.
And an important piece of information for gourmets: they make really good cheese in the Bieszczady Mountains. The smoked ones are called gazdowski, pucoki or bruski. They are similar to oscypek, but not oscypek. You can also buy delicious bryndza from the shepherds. The best cheeses are sold on the route of the Great Bieszczady Loop in Brzegi Górne and at Nikos's in the Czar PGR agritourism farm in Wańkowa. The truest cheese-making region is the commune of Komańcza. in Osławica, Wisłok Wielki, Smolnik and Dołżyca.
This place was created to make you bored, so if you are not on your way with boredom, it may be that you will find yourself better elsewhere. The activities we recommend are: going for long walks in the area, reading books and listening to podcasts, morning yoga on a wooden platform, catching up on the TV series on the couch, sessions in the sauna. Long conversations with people with whom you landed in Jabłoniowa Chatka, cooking together and meals eaten outdoors are also good.

We are located on the edge of Kalwaria Pacławska, a tiny town with only 160 inhabitants. Kalwaria has its years, because the baroque politician, philosopher and writer, Andrzej Maksymilian Fredro, known as the Polish Tacitus, founded it in 1665. Today, a bell commemorating this generous founder hangs in the local church. Aleksander Fredro considered himself his descendant and borrowed Andrzej's motto for his plays, for example "Zemsta". So if you like history and literature, you have a good reason to visit this place.
Part of the Calvary is the baroque basilica of the Discovery of the Holy Cross. It hides, among others 18th-century altars by a Lviv woodcarver Maciej Polejowski, a representative of Lviv rococo sculpture. His high-class works are distinguished by the elegance of gestures and facial expressions of figures and refined draping of the robes. Art historians will appreciate it, and the rest can feel like on a scientific tour and have fun looking for the most dignified figure in the basilica.
Fun fact: it is in this basilica that each motorcycle season in Podkarpacie begins and ends. The village also comes alive in August, when the Feast of Our Lady of Herbs is celebrated and an indulgence is held in front of the basilica.
In addition, our location is an ideal starting point for excursions to the Bieszczady Mountains and sightseeing in Podkarpacie. Below are just a few ideas that you can use.
- For a sense of freedom and beautiful views, we send you to Połoninki Arłamowskie. It is an unknown part of the Dry Obycz Massif - and good, because it is wild, quiet and delightful.
- You can go to the nearby village of Nowosiółki Dydyńskie to see rural houses from the 19th and early 20th centuries.
- If we were you, we would also see raised bogs in the Upper San Depression. There are educational paths through them, the views are extraordinary and there are rare species of plants and animals (but there are also beavers, the sight of which is just as enjoyable).
- From our cottage you have about 60 km to the Solińskie Lake. You can meet a lot of tourists there in high season, but it's a beautiful lake worth seeing. Due to the windy conditions (high altitude), it is suitable for sailing and kitesurfing. There are many picturesque hiking and cycling routes around the lake.
We invite you with the kids, but we just warn you that we do not have any special attractions prepared especially for them. So you have to take care of organizing time for the children yourself. The youngest farts may be boring with us, although it all depends on your creativity. One thing is certain: there are many places to discover in our area, so you can go ahead and organize a trip to the peat bogs in search of sundews and beavers, or go to Lake Solina.
