Maniów are like Atlantis. The old ones lie at the bottom of the Czorsztyn Lake, and the new ones were created by resettling the inhabitants and moving the buildings to the shore. To the settlement with a fairy-tale view: the blue of the water, the Niedzica Castle and the Pieniny and Gorce mountains towering over them. It is for these painting landscapes that our hearts beat faster and we built a house here, which is a place of rest for us and our family, and which we will gladly share with you.
The set with a cozy house includes: coffee on the terrace with the delight of the mists floating above the lake, chatting by the fireplace, a walk to the sheep-house, shooting kilometers along an almost Alpine bicycle route, sunbathing by the lake, a trip to the shepherd's hut for oscypek, skis, ski tours, trekking. Mountains, mountains and sailing again. The non-speedy package of pleasure depends only on you. This is our climate and we would not change it for any other.
In a house where instead of a TV set, a panoramic view from the window plays like National Geographic. To Czorsztyńskie Lake, to the mountains, to space. Just sit on the sofa in the living room, cover with a blanket and enjoy the session. Our house is a combination of modernity and traditional highlander craftsmanship. So there is wood, carvings, there is also quite contemporary furniture, a comfortable bathroom with a bathtub and another with a shower. There are beds built at an angle, at the sight of which children squeal and reserve places for themselves, there is a large, home-equipped kitchen (there will also be a wok).
Our cottage guarantees a comfortable stay for 8 people, although the next two will fit on a fold-out sofa in the living room:
- 4 bedrooms with bed linen (2, 2, 1 + 1, 2),
- 2 bathrooms: shower, bathtub, dryer, towels,
- kitchen (there is even a washing machine),
- living room: fireplace, projector, sofas, large table with a place for every household member,
- large terrace: deck chairs, barbecue,
- parking.
You have Pieniny, Gorce and the foothills of the Tatra Mountains at your feet, and you must know that it obliges. Pleasures are realized here a bit differently than in comfortable slippers. Speaking of slippers, it is worth thinking about the right footwear. Cycling, ski, snowboard, touring and trekking shoes. It all depends on the choice of the form of recreation and sports condition. But even if you decide to go on the Tour de Lake on Velo Czorsztyn, and your physical prowess is only planned, we have a bicycle rental nearby, including electric ones, for those who are not skilled in the fight.
Speaking of the scenic and bicycle route. The bicycle path around the Czorsztyn Lake is not the end of the loop, because the authorities of the Pieniny National Park did not agree to set a route in the park. But, you have to manage somehow, so you can do as most cyclists do, i.e. use the water transport between the castles in Niedzica and Czorsztyn. On the Dunajec and Halny ships, i.e. large vessels (approx. 100 passengers), which, thanks to the upper deck, provide beautiful views. An alternative are gondolas called Czorsztynianki - much smaller, but running more often.
Along the way, it is worthwhile to deviate a bit from the route and visit the Dwór Tetmajerów in Łopuszna and the wooden church of Michael the Archangel in Dębno, entered on the UNESCO list.
Of course, visiting Czorsztyn Castle is a must. From the terraces of the castle you can observe the panorama of Lake Czorsztyn, Pieniny Spiš and the Tatra Mountains. When you are at the castle, it is a stone's throw from here to Bacówka in Polana Majerz. You will meet real shepherds here, you will be able to see what their work looks like, listen to a sheep's choir and try fresh żętyca (cheese season, of course, i.e. in summer). You can also buy delicious oscypek and bundz here. Another shepherd's hut that is worth recommending is located closer to the Chata (Maniowy Bacówka). It is an equally good address for authentic, delicious and fresh cheeses.
Time for water sports. You can spread a towel on the Maniów beach, sea in winter, swim in the summer, and in the bay, at the Fishing Base, you can rent a motor boat at a good price and go out to the lake's waters. Note that there are really large specimens in the depths.
There is a rental shop just three steps away from us, where you can find pedal boats, SUP boards, kayaks, trekking skis for winter and Velo Czorsztyn bikes.
For views that cause jaw drop and big eyes, we recommend going to the Bench of Lovers in Kluszkowce and the Observation Tower in Lubań. The second destination requires some effort, because not only do you have to go up, but then you have to climb a lot of stairs, but it's worth it. Because what you see is wonderful. Panorama of the Tatra Mountains and its surroundings. It is very windy at the top of the tower, so dress appropriately.
One of the prettiest places in Poland. Spring in PPN is fabulous. I recommend going from Sromowce, the views are surprising. It is worth rafting down the Dunajec gorge at least once in your life. No photos and no comments will make what we can see with our own eyes come true, which will surely be a memory for the rest of our lives.
Where is it worth being, what is worth seeing?
- Góra Żar - you can plan a longer trip through the Grandeus hill to Łapsze Niżne. The views of the Tatra Mountains are guaranteed when the weather is nice, and as many people on the trail have cried as a cat.
- Zielone Skałki Reserve - which you can reach from two sides. From Falsztyn or from the Lake.
- Rafting on the Dunajec River - it's worth experiencing it, at least once in your life. But it's best to repeat it cyclically. Unforgettable adventure.
- Go through the trails of the Pieniny National Park, which is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful National Park in Poland. Sromowiec, Trzy Korony, Sokolica (more difficult routes), Osica (easier), Homole Gorge are waiting for you here. We recommend it at any time of the year.
- Ski on the nearby slopes: Czorsztyn-Ski, GrapaSki, Polana Sosny, Kotelnica Białczańska, Koziniec-Ski.
In the evening, after returning to the Chata, you can light the fireplace, pour water into the bathtub and pour bubbles (into the bathtub and into a glass), fire a movie on the projector, cook delicious pasta, sit down at a common table, spread out board games, lie on the couch, warm up the wine in a pot and warm up on the terrace in the rays of the setting sun.
What’s there for children?
In winter, you can go ice fishing with your dad, walk on the frozen lake, slide down the nearest hill onto the claws (on-site sledge) or ski (e.g. at the Glade Sosny Ski Station). Build snowmen the size of yeti, snow castles, moats, and then go to the real castles in Czorsztyn and Niedzica. Who can even look into the dungeons? In summer, there are swimming in the lake, pedal boats, unforgettable rafting down the Dunajec River, uphill and downhill walks, trips to sheep and bicycle rides (parents will probably spin the pedals).
